Well our live date for Primus Talk 3 is today.

I've just noticed that Primus don't do an unbilled calls section like OneTel but cant argue to much at £3.49 (after taking into consideration the £5 rebate per month but paid quarterly).

No, they don't (the answer I received when asked them just that back in November was, "At this time we cannot offer this to our customers."

They do list all calls (free and charged) on their online bills though.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Sorry if this is a daft question but what do you mean when you say they don't don't do an unbilled calls section?

If you have a OneTel, 1899, 18185 or 18866 account (probably others too), you can login and see records of all your calls, including those for which you've not yet been invoiced.

    You can't with Primus.

Are any of the other Primus users receiving Bills from them (either online or paper).

I've just phoned them again to complain about not receiving any information on switch date, etc. [We'll not open the protection against slamming debate!]

I was then told they were going to debit my account for the first bill! Nothing on their "secure" [Ahem] e-Billing service (the SSL certificate expired on the 2nd March - take a look at the date of this posting and compare). Okay the value of the bill is trivial...but there's a principle at stake here! Hands off my cash until you [Primus] tell me the bill value.

Yet another E-Mail sent off to Primus tonight...no doubt that'll go unanswered as well! Their customer service is great when you're signing up, but rubbish after that point.

Anyone else experiencing these problems or is it just my account that's a dud one!!

    Hi there
Just wanted to see if anyone has had problems dialling 0844 cheap call numbers on their Primus Freetalk 3 plan. I have just switched on the basis of info on this site and have since been unable to dial 0844 numbers. Checked on Planet-talk website and you have to dial 1280 before you can dial any premium rate number - a real pain in the whatever, makes using your predial numbers impossible.

Just wondered if anyone has found the same and resolved it ?

    Thanks

    Saffron

Isn't 1280 the predial code that drops you back out to BT?

Sounds like Primus don't want to handle the 0844 numbers to me.

Heinz should be able to give a better insight though.

With the exception of 0870 calls between 06:00 and 18:00 weekdays (when 18185's 4p is the cheapest per minute rate I know of), I recommend always using the 1280 prefix to 'hop back onto BT' for all 084/087 calls.

That's because I know what BT charge but, when Primus are asked, they appear not to know - see HERE.

Primus say they charge the same as BT to call 0845/0870 on their site.
This is however BT,s old standard rate. The majority of BT,s customers are now on lower rates. So its best to put all your NGN calls via 1280 (BT) unless your using 18185 at peak rate.
