Get paid for free evening and weekend calls

I am in the process of using up my last £6 credit with OneTel, and then I was going to take the jump to Primus Option 2.
I am, however, having second thoughts. After reading the last few posts about Primus not answering e-mails, and not knowing/advertising their rates for various non-geographical numbers etc.
If I do make the plunge, the only way I will go ahead now is to ring them to get the free evening and weekend calls *permanently*, and as has been suggested on this thread route all other calls apart from the free ones away from them.
Has anyone changed over to Primus more than 3 months ago and can say they have had GOOD service from them?0 -
Yes.
I've only had need to e-mail them twice with queries and they replied (answering the questions) within 12 hours.
I do exactly what you suggest (1899/18185/1280 prefixes) so my only invoice so far was 12p (when I forgot to 1280 prefix one 0845 call).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Anyone having problems with Uswitch? Seems to keep giving page not found errors when I'm doing the online calculator thing2p off is still 2p off!0

Hi,
I have switched to Primus. Received confirmation letter. However small print says online billing is not compatable with mac. I phoned them today - very helpful. They said they would send bills in post no extra charge. Note the helpline is 0870 so remember to use override.
Now, anybody know a cheaper way to call 0906 (ripoff) numbers?0 -
Well you can call 0800 036 3839 instead of their 0870 number.
That was printed on my welcome letter.
I opted in for Option 1, and then asked for Option 2. They said its 2.99 and asked if I was ok with Online billing only. I said fine.
Line rental was dropped back to £0 for even option 20 -

The better (and cheaper) way is to bypass uswitch and call Primus on their freephone number 0800 036 0094 and ask for the Primus Saver Option 2 (free evening and weekend calls for no monthly subscription) package.
I cannot figure out as to why it is better to call Primus rather than use Uswitch and get some cashback from Quidco/Rpoints????
Also is Primus Saver opt 1 still available as uswitch always takes u to the Op 2?
Help plz!!Berba0 -

Does that mean u are not being charged the usual £2.99 for the OP 2 just like OPT 1?? Was that a mistake from their part or is that what u were offered???Berba0 -
Yes thats what I understood and I asked 2 times (and the guy on the line confirmed from his Manager)
* I would not be charged ANY line rental for Option 2 if I receive online bills only. He specifically told me its normally £2.99 but free if you dont get paper bills.
* I would not loose any loyality bonus as I am "upgrading" service and I am in same band of product. (Yes I asked it twice as I went through Quidco/uSwitch and didnt want to loose £8 + Loyalty bonus)
I will update if my second bill verifies this.0 -
So let me get this right:
If I signed up to Primus Option 2 through Uswitch, I would get the cashback applied quarterly but would pay £2.99 for paper billing.
If after signing up this way, I could then ring Primus, ask to be put onto Online billing only, the £2.99 would be dropped, but I would still get the (£60) cashback in the first year?
Edit: Or would it be best to go for Option 1 through USwitch, then "upgrade" to Option 2 by phoning them, but asking for Online billing only as Webkami has done?0 -

I would say second one, as that worked for me. But I dont see why the first one wouldnt work.0
