If I sign up to Primus via uswitch for the free calls, can I then apply for the broadband deal posted elsewhere on the forums, thus giving me free calls a cashback and good value broadband ?
Personally, I can't see why not. Good way to save money!

They're certainly going to be losing money on some of the 0844 and 0871 calls they carry at those prices (some 0844 numbers are 5p/minute at all tmes and some 0871 numbers are 10p/minute at all times).
Fear not, Heinz - this is incorrect information from Primus, who will not lose out.

Interested in the revenue-share possibilities for my 0871 number I made a weekend test call lasting 59 seconds. It cost 8p+VAT, or if it had not been rounded, just the 10p/minute that BT charge.

What a pity their information about what they charge for 0844 numbers IS correct though (I've read more than one report of someone using a 1p/minute 0844 number via Primus and being charged the undiscounted BT 0845 rate).

Just switched to the Primus #2 package. I assume once you're up and running you need to drop down package wise with BT to their bog standard line rental package? I'm currently on the BT Together Option 1.

No, BT Together Option 1 is BT's lowest package now.

Stay on that and pay by DD so the rental is £11 per month.

Oh ok thats good to know.

I'm currently paying £21 a month to cover the cost of calls I make, so I probably need to give BT a call anyway to reduce my monthy DD to just £11?

Yes. You want to get onto a system I think they call 'whole bill Direct Debit' and, if you can, choose the monthly option (that way, you only pay line rental one month in advance instead of three).

It is quarterly and it's not USwitch that are paying you back - it's Primus themselves in a form of a credit applied to your account. You should get it on your 4th bill if not ring them up. Some people on here reported they received the credit automatically but some didn't (me being one) and have to ask for it for which they were happy to apply the £15 credit.

Thanks! I've only had 2 bills (signed up 22nd May!) so guess I will have to wait another 2 bills then??

    I have 1 bill dated 22nd May - 14th July
The other dated 15th July - 14th August
