Anyone know if its instant. Ive had an email from uswitch, but nothing from Primus, if I make calls now ( ordered on Sat PM) will they be via Primus or not?
No. It takes at least 14 days to switch call providers via CPS (carrier pre-selection). The first 10 days of this is due to the cooling off period.

You will get a letter from Primus telling you when your calls are routed via them and you should get a letter from your current supplier informing you that they wont be handling your calls from such a date.

Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

This offer of £5 rebate is now open again for May but may be extended to June!

Please see Martin's OP post for details but please ignore Martin's update where he states it's closed because it has re-opened again.

Just thought I'd remind people that the offer of £5 rebate on either free evening & weekend calls, or, all-inclusive calls for £3.49 is still valid for this month - May!

Please see Martin's OP post for details but please ignore Martin's update where he states it's closed because it has re-opened again but just for May.

Hi, apologies as I know this has probably been asked before but I am thinking of signing up to Primus via uswitch & have 2 question.

Is there a minimum contract or can I leave when I want? (in case they raise their prices)
How do I make a call via BT/1899 etc? Their international & mobiles calls are rather expensive.

No. There is no minimum contract.

If you have a BT residential landline, make sure you are on BT Together Option 1 (£11/month by DD).

Then sign up with Primus (they become your CPS and all your outgoing calls are routed via them UNLESS you decide otherwise). To 'hop back onto' BT (for most 084/087 calls), dial a 1280 prefix, to use 1899 (for weekday daytime UK 01/02 calls at 3p each regardless of duration), dial a 1899 prefix.

For calls to mobiles and international destinations, consult the MSE Callcheckers for the best options.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

I can confirm that this is happening via Quidco - Uswitch- primus 2. Ive got a nice little £8 tracking from that from Saturday.

I just signed up to Primus via Quidco then uswitch. How long is it before I see the tracking in my quidco account?

Edit: Logged in last night about 5 hours later & saw £16 being tracked from uswitch :)

If I sign up to Primus via uswitch for the free calls, can I then apply for the broadband deal posted elsewhere on the forums, thus giving me free calls a cashback and good value broadband ?

    Thanks
