cex will give you a better proice

I wouldn't touch CeX with a bargepole  I sold my iPhone expecting £197 as it was in good conditon, it was downgraded to poor )yet only had a slight scratch on the front and usual use on the back). Worse still I was given less than their site offers for a poor grade iPhone :( And their reply was basically, tough and they don't even reply any more. I should have stuck to Mazuma like I did when I sold my 1st iPhone. I may have got a few quid less, but it would have been more than I got with lousy CeX and I wouldn't have had to send all the flippin accessories too.

  • My N96 was delivered by special delivery on 9th February and I still haven't had the money transferred to my account! When I queried, I was told this could take "up to 10 working days". Sure enough the terms and conditions say this but if I had sent my phone to Mazuma as my partner did on the same day as mine, he received his money on the same day!

I will probably have to wait until 23rd, a full two weeks after they received my phone!! I could have sold it on Ebay quicker.

Will definitely use someone else next time. If you need a quick turn around I would not recommend M4UM

They are really quite slow. They sent me an email saying they had received and tested the phone one week after they got it (I sent it special delivery, so I know when it was delivered). That was on the 16th. It's now 24th and there's still no money in my account, although there's nothing to make me worry that there will be any kind of a problem. They do say it can take up to 10 working days (ie two weeks) to get payment through.

I sent the iPhone in its original box with charger, manual etc as new. They don't give you any kind of allowance or recognition for getting more than the basic phone, so you're best keeping the charger and cable as a spare (since most iPhone users seem to upgrade to another iPhone).

I used them for the first time last week. I received an email saying that they had my phone, But as everyone else recently i'm still waiting for payment! I'd never have thought it would take so long. I've used various others in the past that send cheque as payment instead of BACS and where all completed in less than a week.
  • I requested a bag from them 12/02/10 which arrived on 15/02/10.
Sent phone back same day, but did not like the thought of sending an N95 back to a freepost address through royal mail. Went to post office and sent it registered post. I got e-mail on 16th at 18.38 saying phone had been processed and payment on its way. Cheque arrived 19th, put on the bank and now spent ;-((

Cannot really complain about the service as everything worked OK for me.:T
  • After reading mostly positive feedback I was about to use this site to recycle a phone. However I am concerned that in order to receive payment I have to give full details regarding my bank account. I guess this is a necessary part of the process but there doesn't seem to be any sort of icon suggesting their payment site is secure. I am reluctant to enter all me details now as I am worried my information could get into the wrong hands if this site doesn't have proper security measures in place. Am I being to paranoid or not? Opinions anyone?

Excellent service - sent the phone yesterday (they offered the best price by £8.00 which doesn't sound a lot but whent he phone is a Tocco lite and only worth £40 anyway, an extra 20% cannot be ignored :D ) - emailed me today to say all received and BACS payment being processed. Can't have any complaints at that

I've just had a bad experience with Money4ur mobile. A long story short, I lost my phone a while back months later it was handed in to my local police station. I got it unblocked and used it but dicided to sell it.

I didn't hear any thing so I contacted money4ur mobile and they said my phone was blocked/stolen. Plus, they couldn't retun my mobile or give me my money and they would dispose of it in 30 days! I explained to them that it was lost but had been found but they just told me that's what there system is saying and there nothing i can do about it etc. They were very rude, making sound like my fault and I was wroung!!!

Lucky, I contacted checkmend, the system used by money4ur mobile to see if phones are blocked/stolen. I provided them with my details and they looked into it for me. The old report saying my police was stolen was still on my phone and they simply removed it.

It makes me angry that I had to chase around sorting out the problem, with no help/advise from money4ur mobile. I would have lost out on my money and my phone!

    Hi Dannim

We're sorry you had a bad experience, we use Checkmend on all items we recieve and if an item is blocked or stolen we cannot return the item and this is held in quarrantine.

As checkmend is an external report all we can do it refer you to Checkmend as we cant change the status of any items.

Again really sorry about your experience and that you felt you had to do some chasing to have this block removed however, our focus on security and ensuring our items are able to be sold remains.

    Thanks
