  • This company is essentially a con.

I wish I read the reviews before I sent my phone off. I should have got £152 but instead I received only £138 after they knocked 10% off.

I am now wasting my time arguing with the managers there trying to get some justice.

    Lets see.

I have just been duped by this company. I too have been "offered" a lower amount due to "Signs of general wear and tear" and had the standard replies to concerns.

To be honest, I am disappointed that MSE adds credibility to this company including them in their MobileValuer.com site results. I have used 2 other mobile buying sites for other phones I have sold and both have been credible and paid what they promised unlike this company seem to do.

Only their T&C page (referenced immediately in their emails to me!) shows that they operate this ridiculous "grading" system that includes "Signs of general wear and tear" as a reason to reduce the "offer" that was given originally. Nowhere else on their pages, not even in the FAQ, does it mention this pathetic excuse for reducing the offer they present on their site. What on earth do they expect, ALL phones have "General Wear and tear", they are used! Just for the record, this phone in question was always kept in a case, not mint but very good condition, fully charged bla bla.

It is not surprising to find that after this 5% reduction, their competitors prices seem to be more attractive but of course by then, they have your phone and any attempts to recover will further reduce the "offer" as postage/handling fees etc. may come into play.

Suffice to say, Money4URMobile, I feel like you have tricked me. If you stand by your actions, add the fact that you reduce the offer if the phone is sent in and has been used to your main pages or at least the FAQ. I would have very much liked to know that BEFORE sending in my phone.

p.s. I know it's only 5% but I hate feeling like I am being duped by T&Cs, that's not how a reputable company works is it?

Never mind, going for a lay down now ;) Phew.

I've had a look though the last few posts and they seem to be some saying they where really good, others aren't so positive.

I've got a iPhone 3Gs that I want to sell, Money4YourMobile have given me the best quote of £240 (more than I'll get on eBay I think!).

I would consider it in good condition, there is a small dent on the bottom left corner, 3-4mm long, 1mm wide and maybe 2mm deep. Would this effect the price by much? I can get photos if need be.

I've also read that a few people have said that their phones have had water damage when they've sent them working, is this a scam or something?

    Thanks!

    Hi KierNet,

I've calmed down a bit now since my rant :). The best thing to do is expect at least 5% off the price they quote. Email them and ask, I wish I had read this post before using them. My phone had no dents or significant scratches and they reduced my "offer". If I sell another phone, I will certainly not use this company. Once bitten...

Not sure about water damage issue though. What's the next best price from a competitor? Not @5% is it!?

  • I have had similar issues to some of you, i wish i'd read this forum first. Got quoted £60 online for my Samsung Omnia, which is in PERFECT working order, then got email saying price was reduced by 50% because of damage to the LCD screen! I emailed back and said there was nothing wrong with it and they replied saying if i wanted the phone back it would cost £14.95 for them to send it back, but i only had 3 days to let them know otherwise it would get disposed of!! Arrrgggh!!! Not at all happy, unless i get resolution today i'm going to make sure everyone knows not to use this site!!

  • Sent my Samsung off last week with a promise of £26 for a fully working good condition phone as mine was.
Just received email telling me I am going to get £13 as it has signs of shading starting to appear??????
Just rang them and been told that I was lucky to get 50% as they normally only pay 25% as my phone is showing some shading on the screen.
Now I never noticed this and the phone is less than a year old its not listed in there terms and conditions but apparently it as bad as have a phone that does not work or has a smashed screen.
They know its not worth me taking the phone back as I have to pay them £14.95 to get it.

Would I use them again....I would rather throw it in the bin.

  • Hi JeffMX, that's the same that they said to me! I'm not happy about it at all. Funny how the person from Money4YourMobile doesn't seem to be replying on these posts anymore either!! Sent them another mail this morning but no reply so far.

I've had neither money nor my phone back so today I've issued a writ against them. They stopped replying to my emails on 7 October. Their accounts are still overdue - THINK HARD BEFORE USING THEM

I issued a writ using the cross border jurisdiction rules because they are a Scottish company. They couldn't have been more helpful sorting out the problem I had and I was surprised to get such a positive result. It was a shame I had to do this, perhaps the person who originally dealt with my phone was having a bad day.
