I'm thinking of sending my phone to Mazuma as they have the best reviews, just wondered, do I have to send the box & charger etc?0
-
Be very wary of using this site. I was offered £100 on an iphone 5 which I believed was in working order ie it was less than two year old and was used up until the day I sent it to mazuma. I received a cheque for £35. When I rang to complain I was told because I didnt respond to an email which advised me that they thought the phone was only worth this amount there was nothing I could do. The phone had been sold. Would have liked to have known how much they sold it for.:(0

I sent my iPad 3 64GB to Mazuma after seeing the positive reviews and being offered a good price. It was sent Special Delivery in the original box, in perfect working order - it seemed brand new. However, when Mazuma received the iPad they changed the offer price down to £55 (from £132!) as apparently it had dirt "under the screen". This iPad was in perfect working order and spent it's whole life in a case with a screen protector, it couldn't have possibly been in better condition. What I find even more frustrating is that a reply to another very similar review says that "scratches and wear & tear [to the screen] are acceptable", but this tiny bit of dirt, "very hard to see" (Helen from Mazuma's words), means it has to be classed as faulty!
I am extremely disappointed and would warn everyone to make sure they don't waste money sending their package by Special Delivery unless they are prepared to have their offer downgraded. To have a device in perfect working order and excellent aesthetic condition classed as faulty means that I will never use this service again and I will warn others who consider it.
Do not waste your time and money using this service.0 -
I've used them maybe 9 or 10 times over the space of 2 years.
Never had a single issue with them - never had a mobile returned for a less offer due to being "faulty" - can only assume the people that have are oblivious to damage on their devices or refuse to believe they are damaged.
I've only had 1 mobile go missing, however that was entirely my fault as I took a chance on dropping into a postbox in the pre-paid bag... of course it was lifted by Royal Mail... but that's not Mazumas fault... entirely my own fault.
As long as you send via recorded delivery you'll be fine.0 -
Filled in their online form last Sunday. Posted phone on Tuesday. Money in my account on Thursday.
No problems at all.0 -
Sent my iphone 6 to Mazuma and was quoted £225. The emailed me back saying that it was classed as damaged as the screen was raised a bit due to a bend in the chassis.....NEVER.and offered me £80.....£145 off the original price.
The funny thing is that 2 of my colleagues had their iphone 6's rejected yesterday, Mazuma said that one had a damaged screen (he had just recently replaced it by an authorised apple repairer), the other one was told that there was a dead pixel on a white screen, both were offered £80 down from their original £230
Sounds like they expect phones in a pristine condition and not used.......total scam, I would rather put it in the bin than let these cowboys make a huge profit out of it. Perhaps they are snowed under with iPhone 6's ?
Anyway, all 3 of us have asked for them to be returned.
Funny how their website only shows positive reviews !!
NEVER AGAIN !!
NO I do not accept your response, 3 people in one office you have rejected ?
Obvious expected response from these cowboys.....so why don't you state these imperfections on your website that will constitute faulty?
No.....you live in hope that people will accept two thirds less offer........dreadful, basically thieves.
Guaranteed Value: £225.00........what a joke0 -
Have logged to find the best deal (MSE) for my wife's old mobile, found that Mazumma had the best price (Cash £215; Argos £236.50). Then tried to use the link, which failed & was given a range of choices which included the worst price quoted company!
So decided to go directly to Mazumma and was quoted £140!!!!!! I would say to folk, is do your research!!!!!:(0 -
Have used Mazuma twice previously and had no issues, however sent my working iPhone 6 off this week for a supposedly 'guaranteed' £130, only to have the offer downgraded to £45 due to a faulty screen.
The phone was in very good condition and did not have any faults when I posted it off, securely packed in it's original box, so I cannot believe it somehow now needs a screen replacement! I've asked for it to be returned, it's worth £45 to me to keep as a spare.
i don't know if they've decided to be more choosy lately, as I have used them in past and been happy, but I won't bother again.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -
I have just received my S6 back after rejecting an offer of £20 reduced from the £75 quoted due to screen burn. I Can't find any evidence of screen burn and the phone has come back with more scratches around the case. Waste of time.0

I sent my LG G5 to Mazuma in good working order and was advised on the 14th June 2018 that the phone had been received. I then received an e-mail a little later in the day stating that the phone had a defective LCD screen "White mark (s) in display. Mostly visible on white background.". It stated that this would result in the offer being reduced from £80 to £20 which I was not happy with as the phone was in perfect working order. I used the link within the e-mail on the same day (14th) to request that my phone be returned to me and it loaded a web page stating I would be contacted. I waited to hear from them about my request for the handset to be returned and then on the 22nd I get two e-mails stating that my phone has been sold and I would receive a cheque for £20. I revisited the link and clicked on it again and it stated you have already contacted us about this order!
Mazuma Mobile have refused to return my phone, I have yet to see any payment from them and they flatly refuse to acknowledge my complaint. I'm looking at options to progress this with trading standards and i'm considering raising it as theft with the police as they are refusing to return my property.
The Mazuma website is also seriously flawed from a security standpoint as well as the apparent issues with requesting your phone to be returned, it does not support TLS 1.2 (only TLS 1.0 which is considered insecure). It stills supports weak Diffie-Hellman key exchange parameters and does not support Forward Secrecy or AEAD cipher suites. This is not good when you consider you are entering personal information into the site.0
