why on earth should he, after 4 pages of complete rudeness?????0

Ok, I have found the Forum Rules you refer to and I apologise for trying to push you toward a company or brand name. However, my problem and theory still stands: you cannot possible tell people there are high quality top brands out there, that are supportive and comfortable AND turnable, without stating who they are. When us mere mortals just haven't got a clue where to find them. As all we find in all the stores, are non-turn ones in the high-end bracket.
Also, pardon me but this WHOLE THREAD is about a brand? Sleep to Live. That is a brand. How has this entire thread been permitted??
If this thread is allowed, create us a new thread, tell us the brand(s) you are referring to (not necessarily the sellers or the web sites), and we can see the info there.
Coz myself and others are flying blind with empty advice.
I am not trying to be rude - am just hitting a brick wall.
If you don't like it here no-one is forcing you to stay.......goobye0 -
See? No proper advice.
You refer me to the rules. I read them. This entire thread breaks what you are pushing me to read and abide by. What you apparently abide by.0 -
No - please read the advice given, and the urges back for the *money answer*.
A person goes into all the stores he knows of. Independants and big names. They show you the cheap mattresses that some are turnable. And the high quality ones that are non-turnable.
Now tell me, when someone says you can get high-quality mattress that are turnable - how in the name of all that is holy do you find them????????????????
Tell me please.
Bad banners come from people who are in despair and haven't got a bloody clue how else to ask a question, coz all they get back is empty advice. This thread is ABOUT A BRAND. So how can stating another brand here be any worse? And why if someone is so DEAD AGAINST going against the forum rules, would they even comment in a thread that broke them????0 -
Don't buy gimmicky beds (it's pointless). I'm a back care advisor, and my advice to anyone looking at buying a new bed is to do a simple test.
Lie on the bed on your back and push your hand into the small of your back. If it goes in easily then its probably too hard, if its difficult, then its too soft. Just right if you can just push your hand in.
* You should never sleep on a hard mattress if you have a bad back (Complete myth that you should do so), it should be firm but supportive.
* Never buy a really cheap bed, (you get what you pay for), however you shouldn't need to spend an absolute fortune either.
* Good quality memory foam matresses are probably the best as they mould around your body
Hope that helps

Oh good heavens above.
I am not a retailer at all.
I just.............god this is bloody useless. Advice? Where?
You can get fabulous coffee, but I aint telling you the store.
You can buy the most wonderful cheeseburgers - but I am not going to tell you the restaurant.
Even though, a coffee/restaurant name is clearly splashed on this Thread Title.0 -

I too won't be spending thousands, though they are so comfortable. lol.
I laid on a Tempur Memory Foam (said to be of the best??), but the moment I turned, I felt the ridge of where the foam hadn't softened. Plus, I get a hot back, so Memory Foam wouldn't aid my sleep.
I have tried that method of checking for the support with the fingers. Great bit of advice. Also useful to ask someone you trust properly (not a sales person) to look around to see if your back is straight. A salesperson might just hype it up to make that sale.
So are a great many brands out there that I am bombarded with them. Ie SN sell a few types of beds, but under so many different names that you think there are other options out there, when in fact, I don't think there are.
I found a very good quality mattress in a store but it was over £2k, which I think is overly expensive. But all of these really comfortable and supportive mattresses I have found in all the stores, are non-turn, apparent "Easy Care". The cheaper ones tend to be turnable.
So I don't know where to find a turnable high quality mattress. Am at a loss. Sadly this forum isn't helping at all. It's saying what 'construction' is good, but not the brands. Yet a brand name is used in this Thread title, so am again 'at a loss' to see why stating a a brand here is 'inappropriate'.
It's partly very frustrating, but also rather funny.0 -
To be honest Edelman you've proved yourself (probably unintentionally) to be a complete Troll.
This thread of 7 pages is mostly you conducting some sort of vendetta against someone who is a highly respected member of 2 years who has gone out of his way on many occasions to assist people on the forum.
I don't know why Tim hasn't added you to his ignore list, I know I certainly would have done.
I suspect you're well on the way to not only getting the thread closed (which wouldn't be a bad thing methinks), but also and/or getting yourself banned from the forum
KymiHi Kymi. Yeah I won't be buying a cheap bed. I was thinking about it, then tried the one that this thread is all about. But since I have read so many bad reviews, and I have never heard the name, it puts me off. Mainly coz I haven't a clue if it will last.

I come here looking for info on Sleep to Live beds. I see someone slagging of salespeople doing what they do - sorry but I didn't come here to moan, but I felt strong about something.
And now I am asking about what mattress is top quality and turnable and NO ONE here know or will reveal. Even though no shop I have been sells such a thing. I just ask for a brand name. I am told companies and brands cannot be given because of Forum rules, yet a brand name is in the subject title of this thread.
I hope someone DOES close this thread, because I haved to get one answer, and it won't be given.
I accept his points on the gimmick side of that particular shop.
I accept some things, but not others.
While I do accept that "in theory" turnable mattresses would be longer laster, when I read that High Quality ones are available do it, yet I cannot find them anywhere and I just ask: What is the brand, and I get grief, it's just an unforgiving place to be.
Sure, I think people have given good advice.
But if you asked me what is the best **** on the market that does something in particular and you haven't a clue what that brand, or where to get it, and you won't be told - YOU would be damn frustrated.
If I were to just say here that I haved asked all stores about high quality turnable brands, and they say they don't exist, I will just be beaten down and told "well that's salesman for you, just want to sell their own product".
So there is just no winning here at all.
I won't be told the brand. I won't be told ANYTHING about the brand to go and find what I am being told about. So what's the use???????????0 -
Thanks guys for the entertaining 'banter', I have enjoyed reading this thread.
Edelman, sorry, but I can not recommend a turnable high quality mattress as when I visited various bed shops I found that the mattresses that felt the most comfortable were 'topped'.
We have been sleeping on a SleeptoLive mattress since March 12th. So far we have found it to be comfortable and have slept well, though for the first 2-3 nights I was sceptical as I found I sunk into the bed a little and this took a bit of getting used to. For anyone thinking of buying a sleep to live mattress I would say you should watch for a sale. We were originally quoted £1500, but ended up paying just under £900. We had rejected the idea originally due to the price, but when we realised that we would have to spend circa £1000 anyway to get something comfortable realised that the STL on special offer would be an acceptable purchase for us.0
