Doh!!!
yet another dumb !!! here lol i didnt look before i sent it and they have pulled the same stunt with my blackberry, sent in full working order only stopped using because it was time for my contract renewal and i got a new phone, and yes they did the offer £56, then when received now claim its water damaged and offer £9! just sent a rant off to them, its never been in water there was nothing wrong with it, some companies don't half try it, if i have to pay a tenner to get it back im going to on principle!0 -
Like many respondents on this thread, I too was attracted by the price offered for a working phone.
When I was told by thes company the phone did not work I requested for it to be returned which they did BUT the phone was partially assembled and not functioning from £62 to £10 to scrap - I have been careful with my spelling!!
Not a great experience, my tip would be to go somewhere else.0 -
so wish i had seen this thread before using their service, i've sent my iphone 4s 32gb to then having received a quote of £235 only to have received an email from them today offering me £51 due to "Water indicator red or missing".
I don't even know what this means but that phone was in mint condition, I'm fuming and have demanded they return the phone.
I have received a picture but there is no way to prove the phone is mine, thankfully i've made a copy of my imei and took a few photos of the phone beforehand.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!0 -
I have sold my phone to Mobile Phone EXchange in March 2013, after being promised to be paid GBP 62 pounds. To my surprise, as soon as they received my phone, which was in full working order, they sent me an email with a final price of GBP 10. They sent me lots of pictures that did not look like my phone and mentioned several faults which my phone did not have before it left my residence. After receiving their email, I replied and demanded my phone back. After a few weeks of waiting, nothing happened. When I called, they informed me that they had sent me my phone via UPS.
I contacted UPS and they informed me that my phone was going to be dispatched within a couple of days. To my surprise, I received an adulterated package with nothing in it. I immediately reported it to both companies who then told me that an investigation would be taking place. UPS informed that someone was going to collect the empty envelope to help with the investigation. A person came in and collected an envelope. A few days later, I called UPS again to chase up for the resolution and they informed me that a reimbursement has been approved and that I should take that up with Mobile Phone Exchange as they had to send out all the paperwork. Since then, it has been a nightmare. Several months have now passed and I still haven't received my phone or a replacement for it. After several phone calls made and emails that I sent to them, nothing has been done and the customer services doesn't seem to have a clue of what is going on.
I feel frustrated and violated as I was expecting that an smooth transaction would be easy to be completed; however, the problem seems to be getting out of hand.0 -
Send a LBA to Mobile Phone Exchange stating that there was nothing wrong with the phone, their pictures were not of your phone and the fact that they have been unable to return it confirms that. Give them 14 days to pay you the £62 originally agreed or return the original phone in the condition you sent it or you will immediately commence legal proceddings to recover the money, plus court fees, incidental costs and statutory interest.0

I got my wife’s iPhone 4 valued at £140 online and when I sent it to them, they offered me –wait for it - £22! What was worse is that the email came from a ‘noreply’ address. I found the email address I can email and when I queried them, they said, their technicians have found a ‘crack’ on the screen and that the home button was not working properly. When asked for proof, they sent a very low quality photo of a minor dent on the very top of the phone and not the screen and suddenly a mystery home button issue which we did not know about. As I queried again and again, they started to come up with more and more elaborate stories about how their qualified mobile technician found the home button was not working – my wife has been using the phone with no issues!
The dent was right at the top of the phone body that was not even part of the screen and yet they claimed to be a 'crack on the screen'.
As soon as I demanded the phone back, they re-offered £52 for the phone, which I rejected. Then started the whole chain of emails demanding my phone back to which I received not many replies. After over 2 weeks of emails, they finally said that ‘in a few days’ they will post it and then ‘in a few days’ I will receive it. I had to threaten them saying that I will block the phone as stolen as they refuse to send the phone back on demand and they are hold the goods when I sent it in good faith.
I asked for a break down on price – apparently they have to change the whole facia for £50 and another £50 to change the home button before they sell it – I thought this was a phone recycle program for charity!
About 5 days later I received the phone - guess what the phone they sent was not the same as the one I sent them.
The IMIE number was different and the one I sent was unblocked one and they sent one locked down to Three network!
I am now perusing this legally because I know they know what they are doing. I took photos of the phone before I sent it with the IMIE number and the box.
I wish I had not used these people at all – they are fraudulent company! Please read reviews online and do not use them as every story is scary and I wish I had gone with someone else. They are not helpful at all and their claims about the cracked screen was lie and home button not working was a lie. Moreover they sent a phone that was not even mine and kept my perfectly working phone!

Oh god I wish I'd read this thread 2 weeks ago
I was lulled into a false sense of security by their good reviews on Quidco.
Sent them my old iPhone 4, in perfect working order on the basis of an offer for £123.
Received an email saying (surprise surprise) it was water damaged and saying they would only pay me £24. My phone has NEVER been near any water. I emailed back refusing the offer and they instantly replied offering me £54 which I also refused.
They wouldn't up the offer any more so I asked for my phone to be sent back.
I was told it would be back within 5 working days. This was on 16th July and I'm still waiting.
I'm really worried I'm going to receive a damaged phone back or even not receive it at all0 -
*update*
They now say that my phone has been lost by UPS - and say they're going to pay me the full £123 in compensation.
I do wonder if I'm over cynical but I can't help thinking they haven't lost it at all.0
