Hi everyone, new here and wanted to ask a question, I have read a lot of pages in this thread (and a lot of reviews elsewhere) but not all of them, most of the posts here are about cashback and i'm not really interested in that kind of deal (Seems like a lot of trouble)
Unfortunately the best deal I can find for the phone I would like is this one:
xxx.buymobilephones.net/mobile-phones/Sony-Ericsson/Sony-Ericsson-XPERIA-Play/T-Mobile/T-Mobile-20-(24mths)/8854201?adnetwork=af
seems a bit too good to be true to me, (And with all the drama associated with this firm I wanted to ask the people in the know) am I right in thinking that there will be all sorts of hidden trouble if I sign up, or do you think it will be risk free to go ahead? the main aspects of a contract I am looking for are:
Xperia play, 300 anytime/cross network minutes, unlimited data.
bmp.net offer it for £ 20.42 a month inc vat on T-Mobile (24 month contract, ouch!)
Hopefully some of the more established members (No offence noobs but theres obviously a lot of bmp.net employees floating about.) will be able to give me a well informed answer regarding the risks of this kind of deal with bmp.net.
Thank you if you can!0 -
I wouldn't say that it's too good to be true assuming that the real cost of the airtime is no more than £8 p.m.
And you'll have the contract directly with the network. The retailer is responsible only for the handset if it's faulty.
Don't forget about £30 TCB cashback and beware that only browsing is unlimited at t-mobile. There is a limit for streaming/downloading.0 -

Thank you grumbler! I didn't know about TCB, that's an amazing bonus
Thanks for the heads up on the downloading as well.
I have read about people having problems returning faulty goods to bmp.net because of their T&C:
10.3. All items must be returned as they were received with the original packaging and full contents included along with original documentation and proof of purchase.
Apparently if the box is opened they say it is second hand and cant be returned, seems a bit much for me to believe, maybe it was just an unhappy customer taking revenge with a very negative review?
Surely the manufacturers warranty would be valid if the handset was faulty and bmp.net would exchange it?0 -

I was going to go with this company, I had literally filled out all the details for a deal and was about to press send when I decided to do a quick google search....................now I know in general people only tend to comment about negative customer service and not positive, but even so, the amount of negative reviews is quite disturbing.
I was also worried about how the cashback or free gifts actually work, as someone else mentioned, what happens if the company goes bust and you are stuck with a high monthly tariff for 24 months and no cashback is forthcoming?0 -

Hi!
Was just about to enter payment details at bmp.net, then thought i'd check here.... needless to say I was a tad concerned.
But, the deal I was thinking of doesn't involve redemption or 'free' gifts, its just a free phone and decent monthly tarrif.
Am I right in thinking I am still safe in going ahead with this contract? If they were to go bust, i'd still have the phone and the contract (calls + texts) would still be in place with O2?0
