Send them a letter telling them they are in breach of the contract. At the same time open a case with Consumer Direct and ask them to pass this on to Trading Standard because I read on another website that this might be the way they are financing all their great deals (some of them are too good to be true imo). They are hoping many people forget about their free gift/cashback or just get so fed up that they don't want it anymore.
Because of our problems with the Wii Fit Plus that we were supposed to receive as a free gift we sent they received a letter from us with the Consumer Direct case number and within a few days they had money transferred in place of the Wii Fit Plus
Later my husband ordered a sim card, they didn't even have that in stock! Cancelled the order and will never deal with them again once our contract ran out!0 -
Thanks for your advice folks..
Well I have attempted one last e-mail (I know I should start going through proper channels now so feel free to berate me.:o:o)
This time I e-mailed the complaints department, I've given every detail of what I ordered, when, and who I've spoken to and e-mailed, inc copies of the e-mail.
I've quoted their terms and conditions at them and asked that if they don't respond to my complaint in 2 working days (as it says in their t&cs that they will) then I'll ask for assistance from consumer direct and Trading standards.
fingers crossed (Again)
And honestly, thanks for the advice!0 -
Hi, just came across this thread and thought I would add my thoughts.
Both me and hubby have recently had contracts through BMP both with free gifts. I think they are worth using if you are VERY careful to meet the criteria to claim.
On both occasions I have received the 'we are out of stock' email after our claims were deemed as valid and on both occasions I have waited and waited...then I phone up (sit in very long queue) to be told that stock was due in tomorrow and I would recieve an email soon.
Lo and behold on both occasions a dispatch email arrived shortly after phone call and gifts duly arrive.
I suspect this is a commonplace tactic banking on the fact a proportion of people will not chase up their free gift. Seems rather coincidental to me.
As I said before, worth using but be careful- read all the free gift T&Cs very carefully before buying.0 -
Following on from sending my letter to the complaints department, I received a phone call from a customer services manager on Friday, unfortunatly I was driving when the call came through so I couldn't answer but they did leave a message on my home phone saying that they will call back on Monday - so I am awaiting their call!0

Buymobilephones have called me and offered a different laptop, and offered me a different laptop or the cash, I've gone for the cash and all being well it will be in my bank next week. :T:T
So now, I've got to go laptop hunting0 -
They were ridiculous with me. Two weeks ago I ordered a Samsung Galaxy portal. It was meant to be a great deal. For a whole week I heard nothing from them and my account status was still on 'processing'. I sent them an email complaining about it and saying that I would cancel the order if no one told me what was going on. They replied on the next day saying that there was a problem with my PAC. Now: I hadn't asked for a PAC and they should have told me that there was a problem straight away. I rang, I spoke to a customer service advisor who said that she would pass the information to the right office. I asked her if I could speak to them and she said that it was not possible to speak to them nor to email them but that she had just passed the info to them; of course I pointed out that it's pretty impossible for them not to have a telephone in the office... anyway she said I would get an email from them straight away. Guess what? I didn't get any e-mail. I rang again on the next day, they said that my order had been processed and that I would receive an email shortly saying that my phone had been despatched. I did get an email, but it said that the phone was out of stock and that I should wait for another 10 to 15 days.
I canceled the order. I didn't even get an apology. Don't waste your time with them.0 -
Hey
I see there seem to be many problems regarding cashback and the gift offers. I want to get the motorola milestone from buymobilephones.net, Im going for a £30 18 month contract, the contract doesnt involve cashback or freegifts. Has anybody had any problems with the actual phones and contracts or just the cashback? basically can I rely on just the phone being delivered on time and the contract working?
The deal does look a lot better than many other websites like e2save and carphone warehouse.
Thanks for the help0 -
I placed an order yesterday and I've already run into problems. I received an automated email saying I had failed various checks and needed to contact customer service. I was then told by the customer service rep that I needed to email a copy of my passport/drivers license and a copy of a recent utility bill.
I did both first thing today but my order has still not been processed. I called them not too long ago and I was told, fairly honestly, it would probably take two days for them to process my order.
Given most companies ensure they have sufficient staff to take orders I'm a bit worried it's going to take at least four working days just to process an order!
I'm not sure what checks I failed as I have rock solid credit and haven't ever had a problem with any of my other mobile phone contracts.0 -
Sid_Harper wrote: »Which courier did they use to deliver as I want to order but I won't be home - want to know what I'll have to do to retrieve the kit!
Having ordered at the weekend I can tell you they use City Link. The website advised that they use Royal Mail for phones posted out on Fridays only. My order was processed smoothly and quickly (first working day), with a delivery sent email received including City Link reference (allowing me to hold the delivery at the depot for collection, which is where my main problem with couriers normally occurs as they seldom ever leave cards where I live).
On the negative side, the website runs very badly in old school IE6. And of course I have to wait and see on cashback payments.0
