My phone has packed up after 5 or 6 months - we'll see how good their customer service is in the next few days!

I've no idea what they'd be like regarding replacing a phone. If they're anything like getting money from them...............good luck!! You might get a replacemen phone by the time 5 newer models have come out.

Please do post a reply to this message and let me know what happens.

  • I had purchased a sony mobile with a free gift of a wii...everytime we could get hold of them ; we were told that it was out of stock and to try at a later date...now when I called them they tell me that my 90 days have elapsed and I wont be getting the free gift anymore...they are fraudsters...avoid this company under all circumstances...

I would seriously consider taking them to the small claims court as, on the front of it, they seem to be in breech of contract.

Obviously I haven't read the small print in your contract.

Firstly I would threaten them with court action and take it from there.

On a personal note, I would never go for an actual item (like a Wii or xbox) as my tempter to go with ANY mobile phone company. I think they are too unreliable.

I will only ever do a cashback deal with these companies.

The problem with a lot of these companies (buymobilephone.net are no exception) is that their conditions are such that they really do try their hardest not to cough up any cash. If your name has more than 7 vowels in it and you you were born on a wednesday then you'll get your money back (or gift). Apart from that, you're screwed like a bulb.

I know I'm repeating myself but I strongly suggest you threaten to take them to the small claims court (probably for the cost of a Wii - and I mean the retail value of it at the time of the contract, not when they are now £30 cheaper)

Let me know how you get on.

I apologise if this is duplicating, however, I have tried searching before posting this new thread. Before ordering my mobile phone on cashback I read through lots of advice on here and was/am convinced that I will get my cashback. I pay £35 per month which includes 500 minutes and 250 texts (12 months on vodafone).I rec'd my phone on 2nd June 07' and my sales invoice is dated 1st June 07'. I rec'd my fist bill from vodafone dated 9th July on 13th July, it breaks down the service charge for the period of 1 Jun to 29 Jul.My first payment (2 x months) will be taken from my account on 23rd July by DD.My 1st claim voucher for the cashback states it is to be rec'd by BuyMobilePhones.net within 14 days of the date on my 5th airtime bill.My question is this :- Does my first bill from vodafone explained above, count as 2 months airtime????I really would appreciate any help on this matter, I still have time to sort it out but I do like to be organised and from what I have read previously you need to be!!!!

I would assume it counts as 2 months airtime, for my latest cashback deal it states send the 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th so that would mean possibly sending some imaginery 13th bill if I was in the same situation as you.

My guess is as good as yours though so it might be worth emailling them to clarify aswell.
  • Have had poor service from these guys the last week.
After searching around for the best online deal for a SE K810i phone on Orange Dolphin 35, I eventually choose buymobilephones.net where I got this deal with 7 months line rental back..the usual rules apply.
Anyway I get the phone and it's got a slight mark on the top of it and worse it has a speck of something trapped under and in the middle of the screen. So I phone up to arrange a replacement only to get some snotty nosed girl who sounded put out that I was complaining telling ME to package it up with a covering letter with details of whats wrong and then send special delivery. Presumably I would get delivery costs returned to me.
Firstly I think they should just apologies and send out a new phone for next day and collect old one, but no they have to receive it back and then check it over to see if i was telling the truth...so basically calling me a liar. Why i'd want to waste my own time sending a perfectly good phone back i have no idea.
Anyway I send it off. They email me yesterday at 17:20 10 mins before they shut to say they received the phone and cant find anything wrong with it! I'm guessing the cast a very uninterested eye over it and thought it looked fine. They then say they won't do exchange plus i haven't sent them a 'fault code' from orange. Firstly i was never asked for one. I phone them up to say whats it all about...again same woman who was equally as unhelpful told me that it was just a quick call to orange to get a fault code, whereby they would then send a replacement. So I phone Orange get the code and email it off to buymobilephones.net.
I emailed them today saying that I hope they got my fault code email and am expecting new phone tomorrow. I hear nothing until..guess what...another email at 17:30 today. conveniently just as they close. They said they haven't been able to send me replacement phone because Orange are asking for my account password!!??!! and can i phone them (buymobilephones.net) asap with it. So again I still won't get the phone tomorrow because they contact me at the very end of the day!!
    Disgusting service!
I phoned Orange telling them that this company are asking for me to tell them my Orange Account password and they said that this is very strange and not necessary.
What shall I do? shall I just tell them where to stick it? I'm seriously thinking of doing this. I've already sent a complaining email to them and said that they are to phone ME not ME phone THEM...cheek of it!

I've found this company isn't very inspiring. I believe they are deliberately NOT telling people which address to send cashback claims and asking for proof if ID solely in an attempt to prevent more people claiming. Their website is full of promises and hype but their customer services is very poor. For once I am still considering using them - but if so it's partly as a challenge where I fully anticipate and will prepare for going to court to get my cashbacks. It depends how keen you are to face worse problems when you're trying to get your cashbacks later in my humble opinion!
  • right i've got them to cancel the mobile phone now. they've confirmed its been cancelled but do i have to seperately cancel the direct debits? orange one and the one with them (buymobilephones.net) for the phone insurance?
