If they don't (and it DOES depend on what mood they're in) other peoples' vouchers would be useless; they all have a unique code.0

I see some experienced cashback people on here. Now that Affordable Mobiles have been taken over by A1 and are alongside Buymobilephones, is their Cashback process improved and to be trusted?
I am doing my own research but wanted to check the current view before trying these as have mainly used Mobiles.co.uk for previous deals successfully but don't want to get caught out.
Many thanks

Ps - out of interest, when you resort to LBA do you claim for all Cashback due for all your deal or just the missed/late payment?0 -
The jury's out on the first. As to the last, it depends on the t&c as far as I'm concerned. Nowadays you can still make subsequent claims if one is rejected - so I sue for the one. Having said that, I was about to sue Affordable two years ago for the whole lot because they made it impossible to claim from day one - but despite my best efforts to reach the issue stage they capitulated two days before my (VERY) short deadline and made me an offer I couldn't ignore.0

going through the mire with this company as i type grrrrr
long story short is i came across them here being recommended as a cheap source of a phone ( main page not this thread ) went online and took the plunge , first contract in 13 yrs !
gave it an hour , checked my emails and whats this ? i signed up for 29 quid , an email says 33 and a check on my bank details says 39.99 !!!!!
phoned it in straight away to cancel , this was within an hour
2 days later a phone lands ,,oh
tried to call to say whats going on and both numbers are down ,,,oh
looked into it and whats this bloody insurance policy ? ....oh
sent an email saying grrrrrrrrrr
phoned the bank who refuse to put a stop on the payment ( thanks hsbc ) so cancel the card grrrrrrrrrrrr
find a number to cancel the insurance on so send a txt to cancel which rapes all my phone credit grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
call T mobile who happily cancel the contract instantly ( good on um , ill remember that )
sent another email so state what ive done and ask for my 40 quid back grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
sent another saying come on get a grasp grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
had 1 back , sorry our phone lines dont work !
today receive an email at long last woohoo , says no refund without a return of phone ( fair enough ) and to call 08008808100 with an extension to chat with emma to sort this out , tried to call and bongbingbing this number has not been etc etc .................a phone company without a working phone
this has now been going on 3 weeks , be warned people be very very warned , i did spot this thread before buying and most posts moaned about a free gift ( i didnt want 1 ) so i didnt take much notice so be very alert to the fact if you do sign up with these people you may get more than you expect in weeks and weeks of hassle plus insurance you did not want or expect0 -

Are you sure the offer wasn't £33 a month but after cashback it worked out as £29 a month? The deals that come with cashback are advertised as 'effective cost per month = £x'
Also was the £39.99 that your bank account was charged the upfront price for the phone?izzzzythedog wrote: »looked into it and whats this bloody insurance policy ?
They are quite clear about this on the order confirmation page. All the 3rd party sites seem to have some sort of insurance offer automatically added on.
Anyway, hope you get it sorted. If you haven't used the phone and contacted them within the cooling off period you should be ok.0 -

sorry i was slightly off , its £31 a month , the email i then receieved stated £39.99 a month for 24 months , sorry to be a little vague , yes got charged rightly for the 40 quid upfront for the phone , its the contractual 31 being made upto 40 thats not on , it goes from 31 to 33 thanks to vat i assume ( wasnt mentioned ) and then upto 40 with the insurance ( £6.99 ) , theres no cashback but there is additional costs hidden that you wont find out until signed up
i had a good look at the time and didnt sign for an insurance policy , simple reason being is i dont want 1 and dont take out insurance i dont need , the contract is associated with a 5 figure account hence i always make sure i dont pay for stuff i simply dont need or want so i was extra diligent , the company it turned out i was signed up to is not associated with bmp ( its called citymain ) so it should have been a completely separate screen/redirection with full explanation of what im about to entail , and hence it didnt happen , my first inkling was when i got an email saying welcome
so no not used the phone , its still in the box seal unbroken waiting to be returned , i had an email saying that as the 7 days has lapsed without a return of the item they cant guarantee more funds will not come out of my account , ive explained i had contacted them within the 7 day period and its all cancelled so not a wize move and to once again ask for a bag to return the phone in as i think given i should never have received the phone i shouldnt incur costs to return it , i also dont like there t+c which basically states if there not happy about anything when the phones returned then its my problem , thats holding to ransome somewhat , plus i havnt a clue where to send it as there is no return address ,,,, im very very stuck , i want to get this resolved before i get a yet another phone , also im being now swamped with marketing rubbish , you cant progress past a screen unless you agree to bmp being able to contact you with offers , by doing this you wont know that there going to then sell your details on , im getting spam everywhere0 -
VAT is always included so it has nothing to do with that. Insurance is totally separate and in any case the first 30 days is free, so that's also irrelevant.
Given the immediate charge I assumed there was a separate cost for the phone - but this does sound like a cashback deal where the monthly outlay would come down to the advertised amount after claims.
Since insurance IS clearly stated as included at the point of sale it's quite possible you missed the cashback details; I also doubt you printed things off at the time so you could double check.
You do have (only) 7 days from receipt to cancel a contract. If you haven't proof that this was done you will have a problem returning the phone.
The other organsiation mentioned sounds more like a delivery company than a mobile reseller; in any case, your contract is with BMP. As far as that goes, whilst they are a slightly higher risk (because of their size) in terms of cashback deals I and many others have used them for years without serious difficulty.
If this IS a cashback deal you will need the (basic but unique) cashback forms which came with the phone. If you haven't opened it you won't know if they are inside - and if they are it really sounds like you'll have problems knowing how to use them. If it is a cashback contract and the forms aren't inside, it is now likely to be too late to get replacement forms - and without them you can't make your cashback claims.
If you aren't used to ordering contracts like this, you really need to be extra careful to ensure you read, copy and understand everything before you commit.0 -
I would Second what MobileJunkie says. You cannot get out of accepting insurance but it is easily cancelled, plus also you should cancel the direct debit as well with your bank.
BMP have got a lot a bad reviews on this website. However, I have had two contracts with them and found them very fair and helpful. I have raised two or three queries with them over the past 18 months and got full and correct responses each time. I have received the initial cashback via Quidco and ongoing cash back from BMP without any problems. I have however made sure that I understood their terms (with the grateful help of MobileJunkie and others on this forum) and followed their procedures 100%.
I would suggest you go through the basic procedures as far as you are able on BMP webisite for ordering a phone and you will be able to ascertain the reason for the apparent discrepancies.
If you have not followed the required procedures for distant selling then I am sorry but that is your fault and you cannot expect BMP to be too sympathetic.0
