Hi all, this is just a warning for those of you considering cashback by redemption deals from Buymobilephones.net, now buymobiles.net.

Not considering that they make it as hard as possible for their customers to claim (I.e vouchers that you have to send together with all of your bills for the claim period, you are not allowed to change your bank account, etc) they also find various ways to delay payment as much as possible.

When I took a contract with them, the terms and conditions stated that they will pay any cashback claims in approx. 40 days.

My last cashback claim was accepted beginning of March and I got an email saying money will be paid within 56 days.

I got in touch with them after 56 days and they said the payment was scheduled for a week later. When I complained they said they had now processed the payment. 5 days later I was told, my payment would be processed next week.

It is now another week from the last payment date I was given and they are telling me they have 'system problems' and don't know when my payment will be processed. I am sure their ORDERS systems work fine though...

What are my options except for waiting? I have already sent an email to them last week stating that they are not respecting their contract and I will be seeking compensation. No response to that.

    Any thoughts?

PS. On a different note my other cashback contract is with a competitorand they accept email claims, they only need the last bill and pay within 3 days...

    Any news on this?

I'm in the same boat. I'm waiting on my first redemption payment, which was received by them in March. At the moment, I've only sent them an e-mail to query this. Will let you know how I get on.

I'm not going into details because it's not in my own best interests, but follow the usual guidance on these things. It does work.

Just spotted that someone has revived this thread. I've been waiting for similar time period. Just called them and I should have payment by Tuesday. If I'd known it would take this much messing around I would definitely have taken the smaller instant cash amount.

    Let's see what Tuesday brings.

More of the same. I'm accutely aware of how things are going and only amazed this thread hasn't been flooded in recent months.

Follow the groundrules and it will come. Otherwise don't hold your breath....

Still Accounting problems. I had my notification in April so more than 2 months delay. Shame on you A1 Comms or buymobiles.

Anyone getting anywhere with their cash back? Have written an LBA but no response unfortunately. I guess the next step is a small claims court.

We are (well hubby is) caught up with the "non-payment" issue.
It's through Mobilshop.com, but still part of the A1 Comms Group!!
He was told his cashback was processed on the 9th July and to allow 14 days (yes 14 long days) for payment to show direct into his bank account!!
And then the "technical issues" garbage and to allow a further 14 days to allow payment to hit his account!! He explained payment could be made manually and within his account within 2 hours if wanted. They replied saying they couldn't do that as the payment may go through twice. lol
Payment can't be made once, so I'm pretty sure payment won't be made twice!!
If payment is not showing tomorrow morning, then LBA and giving only 7 days before Small Claims action.
Ironically, he could have had the same contract elsewhere with easier cashback!!
    Silly Billy.
Back to the old tricks it would seem!!

You may need to be careful. I assume Mobileshop (which went bust a few years ago before being resurrected under A1Comms) has the same system as Buymobiles. If so, whilst it may say 14 days when you log on they used to send out an email saying 56 days +2 (since they aren't sticking to that now AT ALL apparently the emails don't give a timescale now). If so, you shouldn't proceed until the 59th day from the day of acceptance - though you should send a suitably worded LBA before that).

I wouldn't have expected your payment to arrive until 5th September. Then again - I know of unpaid claims dating back to Frebruary and March.
