Having skimmed through the posting I wondered why nobody has mentioned Citicards. Unless I'm mistaken they pay 1% on everything you spend on the card.0

I phoned Citi yesterday to close my account - it was diabolical, but more on that in a minute. The "Rewards" tab has been removed from the online banking system - the tab that allowed you to track the cashback you had earned the previous month and your cumulative total to date. Now, why would they do that? When I phoned I was assured that the cashback was still on the card (yes, but she didn't tell me that it wasn't going to be removed at a later date however) but after the 15 minute phone call to them (all on 0800 I have to say instead of their dreadful 0870 number) I had made up my mind the account was getting closed REGARDLESS of the 1% cashback.
I really do dread to think what I would have to put up with if I had a real problem that I needed to sort out with that shower. Dreadful. Apart from the language barrier that was present - it was a call centre not in the UK - both members of call centre staff were PUSHY beyond all belief. I had to tell them at LEAST 6 times, emphasising the point each time, that I wanted to close the account and still they kept coming back trying to offer me lower interest rates, keep it as a back up card, you never know when you might need a card with a low rate of interest if a tragedy befell you (yes, they even used this one!!) and you weren't able to pay off your full balance you could always transfer them to us and think how much less you'd have to find each month...etc. Needless to say, card closed. Never again.

I think you will find that the word "profit" is missing from my post completely, and there is no mention there whatsoever of them trying to sell me something.0

Am I the only person with a Co-Op Dividend credit card, which gives me cashback as Dividend vouchers, which I can spend at the Co-Op where I shop anyway? I know that the Co-Op are more expensive than Tesco and Asda, but they are close to my home so no petrol costs, and only sell basic but adequate things so no temptations! And the Co-Op are quite ethical people aren't they?

I was quite attracted to the Co-Op Dividend Credit Card - the only thing being that the Co-Op shut the main 'superstore' in our city and so it's only the convenience stores that are left - and I don't do enough shopping there to warrant having the card. Co-Op are fairly ethical, although Ethiscore.org has a different opinion on them - Co-Op Bank has an ethical policy (as has Smile which is part of same) although, again, the value of this has to be questioned. I've accounts with smile, and although they've reduced rates on savings accounts, etc., I can see that so have all the others.0

CopperPlate I have no intention of giving credance to your post ,please do not respond to any of my future posts,I have put a block on personal messages, and do not wish to engage in communication which is reduced to personal attacks.I have no problem with foreign call centres or language difficulties. To be happy you need to make someone happy.0

This is a free forum. You cannot ask anybody not to respond to your posts.Speak on behalf of your-self ,that is your right and it is also mine, but allow others to form assumptions about your stance.
And there is no need to 'put a block on personal messages'. If you don't want to see somebody's posts and don't want to receive PMs from them, the best way to solve this problem (quietly) is to use Ignore List0
