Kenshaz - do not send threatening PM's to me. As has been said above this is a free forum. At no time have I made personal insults to anyone here and I'd very much appreciate - as I said in my response to your PM - if you could point out where I have personally insulted you. I find it completely unacceptable that you have contacted me privately to "warn" me regarding the future content of my posts. I cannot believe that this has escalated to the level of me reporting you, and others please take note.
Apologies for this post in a totally inappropriate thread. There will be no further repetition.0 -
OH dear!!
Anyway getting back on track....
I am moving home soon and currently have NO CREDIT as they say.. Apparently you need to be in debt to get a credit rating.. The sense it makes to me is none.. So I decided the best way to get a 'credit rating' would be to get a credit card..
I never had one before so I used 'martins money' to advise me on the best card for me.. After scanning I decided on the egg money card.. As you can imagine I was terrified to do this and really didn't think I would be accepted for any credit card due to the fact that I am a SAHM..
The points I liked about signing up for the card is:
1) I found the wording easy enough not to get confused by %'s thrown at you
2) I found the easy payment at the end of each month fabulous
3) I never found that I was given a huge credit limit for my money.. So i think that I wont be able to get into to to much trouble..
4) It was easy to set up and was set up in like minutes..
The best feature about this card is that. (which I liked any how) I can access all my accounts on line from the egg money site (all my eggs in one basket *giggles*) This allows me to see what money I have got everywhere so in theory I really cant over spend.. I have had the card for a few weeks and its claiming i have earned cash back already.. I understood that the cash back is paid once yearly in april...
So as a newbie credit card holder I am very happy so far with the egg money card...It's amazing what you can learn when you listen...0 -
Hi Flutter By - I have been rejected by Morgan Stanley for being too 'good' I think, so your post shows me that there may be hope for me yet with Egg!
I applied for the Morgan Stanley card 2 weeks ago, they rejected - does anyone think is it too soon to apply for the Egg one?

Eagerlearner, Morgan Stanley accepted me straight away tho' I've never, ever been in debt, I've been an angel, financially like you. And the last time I had a credit card it was with 'your flexible friend ' Access card in the 1970's!! - before discovering MSE of course!! If I was you I,d check out the reasons for their decision.0

Thanks Clipboard - I think it may be because I recently changed jobs and because they use Experian, whereas my current providers (bank and credit card etc) use Equifax. Morgan Stanley told me this was the main reason - so unfair on me, as I'm nothing to do with their admin systems... anyway, I won't rant here, I have created another thread to rant about this on - any thoughts there are welcome ;op

I have an Accucard cash-back credit card , issued by Lloyds TSB. Today I received a letter from them saying that this card is being withdrawn and I will be transferred to their Platinum card. This does not have any cashback , has an APR of 14% and there is no facility to view on-line statements. So I think it is time to shop around and see where I can find the best replacement to my Accucard. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

I've applied for the Morgan Stanley as I don't spend all that much. I only use my Accucard to buy petrol and the bill is settled every month. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Same here - doesn't say what they are going to do about the cashback earned so far on the card though0 -
 So what's going to happen to all the co-branded credit cards run by Accucard (e.g. More Th<n, Texaco, EasyMoney, etc.)? I notice they've all stopped accepting new customers.0
