Any idea how they identify food and fuel - is it by retailler?johners wrote:so then I will use the GE card for fuel and food and my citibank 1% flat rate for everything else (I dont think Citibank are doing the 1% deal for new customers anymore though - only maintain it for existing customers)

Just tried to apply for one of these and they refused me. I have NEVER been refused a credit card as I always pay up in FULL every month.
I earn well above the average salary and have an excellent credit record.
Anybody been able to get one or is this just a marketing ploy?0 -

I believe it's by retailer so if you buy non-food e.g. DVD player, at Sainsburys you will get cashback, whereas if you buy groceries at an unrecognised retailer e.g. farm shop then you won't get cashback.0 -

The Bank of Ireland has a Cashback card and their service on the phone is excellent. My wife's card was "used" in the USA long after we returned and it was sorted with one phone call.0
