I've just read the cashback article to see if I have the best card on the market.
Reading though Martin says I should have the amex plat card... (spend about £12-15k a year on a cashback card)
I actually disagree... I have the egg money card and think I gain more from this for the following reasons:
Egg is 1% all the time and sometimes 2% (christmas bonus)
Egg have extra cashback for some 'useful' retailers - currys for one (5%)
Amex isn't excepted everywhere and when I have amex I found it anoying having to ask if places took amex (I know there is thread identifying retailers)
I think most people would gain more benefit from egg money than amex...
What do others think?

hi si.
im soon gonna be fortunate enough to be in the position of being debt free, so i was thinking of getting a 'cashback' credit card. the 2 things that put me off the amex card is the fact that its not widely accepted everywhere, and the most important fact is that i dont earn 20k to qualify for it! egg money is the way forward for me!0 -
Does anyone have any thoughts on whether is it better to gain interest on a positive balance or just to use the Egg Money card as a conventional credit card and thus pay off the balance in full by direct debit?0

Is the egg cashback credit card mentioned in this article is the only credit card egg do? I ask this because there is an 'egg card' advertised on the front page as being 0% interest for 6 months, etc.. Just wondering if this is the same card or a seperate card egg do. If it is the same then I can pay off the amount I'm spending after 6 months instead of monthly!? Even better!0

I use an egg money card and have done since the beginning of jan. I've earn't £1.57 in cashback but have just seen that egg make cashback payments in March, only if the amount of cashback is over £5.
I don't think I'm going to spend another £350 on there before march so I've lost my cashback! :mad:0 -

AMEX Blue also gives up to 1% cashback (2% for new cardholders) and there are no minimum salary requirements. Most big stores and supermarkets take it, but some smaller shops don't which is always a disadvantage. It looks good though!0 -

Wow, that's useful to know. Do you know what the cut off day for spending is? I ask because I plan on making a £500 credit card purchase in the new week or so. The 1% cashback on this would be £5. If I loose this £5 because it's not over the required yearly amount of spending I may aswell delay my purchase untill after teh cut off date.0
