    Well done!

Don't forget to pay the rolling interest next month and actually call vanquis to close the account once you've done so!

With that properly closed (once you've called them) have you considered a Cap One Progress? Seems like the logical step :o
    Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

  • Just been accepted for Vanquis and should get my welcome pack soon :)

I will spend a small amount I know I can pay back otherwise I won't use it and I've taken advice from this forum and my credit file has vastly improved.

This card is to be used to strengthen my credit file and hopefully in eighteen months it will enable me to get a prime card.
I'm not poor i'm just skint

I got my card about 4-5 months ago with a £250 limit. My payment last week was my 4th payment and when I spoke to them (to reset my passcode) I asked about the credit limit and they said it might get increased after 4-5 months. Now for the first 3 months I basically paid the full balance before my monthly statement was prepared so no min payment was taken, but last month I spent about £220 and then just left it so that they took it by direct debit (I had them switch my dd to take full balance). Will the fact that I always pay it off each month (and therefore they essentially make no money from me) reduce the likelihood of getting an increase? would I be better switching back to min payment and leaving a small amount to pay interest on?

pay after its produced otherwise nil balance is recorded on your record and it looks like you havent used the credit
