My limit with a Vanquis Gold is now £3000, I opened it July 2009, I have a nil balance, did use up to £1100 then did a super balance transfer. I used my Halifax Clarity card and the interest rate is 7.9% for 18 month's. I'm not sure if to now cancel the Vanquis, or reduce the limit to £500 to have it on credit reference file?0

i am having thr worst experience with Vanquis and their "debt collection agency" Impact. Vanqus set up my dd to be paid 4 days afer they claim my monthly payment is due, despite me telling them this and trying to change the dd payment they insisted i had to pay by card each month even though they continued to take the dd payment also.. so i stopped paying by card after speaking with the office of fair trading who informed me i had no obligation to pay early by card if they were rfusing to change the due date or dd date.. then began horrendous issues they began issuing charges on my account for late payments which i refused to pay and eventually had to cancel the dd through the bank as they were taking more an dmore money each month.. then they began to get difficult. they refuse to send me copies of my statements through the post as before now they insist i see them online even though am unable to view them there, then began the phone calls, i have to ring every time they call to advise them not to ring a particular number ( so far my ex husband and my mother have been contacted) as they have no permission to call these numbers, i have a reference number from the office of fair trading which they have to stop the calls and only deal in writing they told me they can only stop the calls for 3 days max.. they are demanding payment even though i have told them i wont pay until the late fees and charges are removed they refuse, today i have received 24 calls on my mobile even though i have informed them i work in a call centre and cannot answer the phone... the office of fair trading is involced after they rang my husbands home number and because he has caller display recognised the number as one of their many many numbers refused to answer they left a voice mail informing my account was in default ergo breaking the data protection act... they refuse to acknowledge my complaint and dispute so i have told them to take me to court where i can provide evidence of dap compromise and other harassment so let's see who wins this one but im fairly sure it won't be vanquis/impact...0

they will win the debt one Im afraid, they can add charges if you are in breach of your contracted date. Inregards to the calls thats something for the icoDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Still waiting for a limit increase here:( Just had my fourth statement, paid in full each month but no increase come my way.
Yea, I had 4th statement last month, no increase - waiting for fifth statement tonight so fingers crossed. Have £500 limit and use for business expenses until I claim back from employer but travelled a lot this month so limit has been challenging..Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0 -
I had a pleasant surprise today, still no increase from Vanquis but Aqua just doubled my limit to £500, that is fine for my needs and just gives me that extra bit of knowing it's there for an emergency if needed, which I hope it never is. I will still carry on spending a bit (£50) each month and then paying in full. It isn't going to change my habits but it is nice to know it's there. Also it feels like a bit of an achievement in one way as it's good to know that your efforts in building a good credit rating again are recognized. Know doubt some people will find that a bit strange but that is how I choose to look at it. 6 months ago I couldn't get a penny in credit from anyone and now through good management I am showing that I can manage my affairs correctly.0

Increase in Vanquis limit from £2,225 to £2500. The smallest increase I have had in the life of the card (Jan 2009 - started at £250). Two months ago there was a late payment on the account due to the d/d failing (unkown reasons why, and vanquis admitted culpability), so I expected that would be the end of it. Not really bothered about anymore increases - £2500 is more than enough and should mean I can go mainstream soon.BCSC Member 70:j

If a late payment marker has been added to your credit profile then you may not get a prime card anytime soon.Don't thank me, thank my post :T

Its been a while since i posted here but just wanted to give an update so that hopefully anyone that is struggling to get credit knows it can be done!
I had a shocking credit rating/history and could not get ANYTHING AT ALL with anyone! However 8 months ago after being turned down for years i finally got a contract phone with T-Mobile [£35 a month], This was then followed by a catalogue account with Littlewoods/Very [Starting limit £150 - Now £1,000, It seems to increase monthly!] - Then about 6 months ago got accepted for Vanquis [£250 starting limit - Now £1,000] - Have not missed any payments or had any late payments and paid my contract mobile, credit card and catalogue in full every month.
It has worked wonders for my credit history in a short period of time - I have just been accepted for a Capital One card and after 11 years with my bank now have an overdraft!:TFinally in control of my credit history and finances - Feels good to be there after battling for so long to even get a contract phone!:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21
June: £43.15/July: £51.22/August: £90.60/September: £29.75/October: £284.07/November: £171.08/December: £29.220
