Hi there,
new to this site so bear with me! I took out an unsecured loan with lloyds tsb back in 2005 and at the time, felt pressured into taking out the ppi cover as it wasn't made clear that this was optional. Now 4 years on, looking to reclaim as I now know better! Has anyone had any recent dealing with them and any success stories to report.
thanks for your help

Hello there and welcome.
You can always try posting on the PPI reclaiming thread as well where others will be able to help.
I have my complaint in with the financial ombudsman service right now, however there have been much success from this company where you can also check this out on the PPI success & failure thread.
I would write to them in your own words, although there is a template on this site, I will add the link below for you, and add your own reasons of why you feel you were mis sold and post by recorded delivery.

They have 8 weeks to respond in full, the first time you may receive a standard fob off letter stating that you were aware of the PPI and so on but do not let that put you off, hopefully it will be successful first time round, they do tend to give you that chance to write to them again, so wait until your receive the final response where they should enclose leaflet details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS) the procedures of complaining to them if your not happy with Lloyds response, good luck and please let us know how you get on and if you require any further help.

Sorry to trouble you again. I have my letter now good to go, but before I post it, wondered if you had any "hassle" off lloyds with regards to any other product you hold with them after lodging your complaint? I have a variety of accounts with them, current, savings, isa, credit cards and this loan, all in good condition with no problem, and just wondered if they had taken the "hump" with any other products that you had. I have been with them for many years and to be honest this is the first problem that I have actually came up against. I don't really want to have to close my accounts with them and go elsewhere, but certainly would like to take issue with them on the ppi on the loan.
many thanks

I can only say what I myself would do and have done - prepare for Lloyds to take the hump. Open your "parachute" account with a building society, first, before sending off your letter.YouGov: £50 and £50 and £5 Amazon voucher received;
PPI successfully reclaimed: £7,575.32 (Lloyds TSB plc); £3,803.52 (Egg card); £3,109.88 (Egg loans)0 -
No PPI will be dealt with by the Personal Loan centre and not by your branch.0

Hi Charlie
I have been with Lloyds TSB for approx 18 - 19 years and like yourself have many accounts with them, I have no problems with them regarding other issues..whilst I have a few PPI complaints ongoing with them.
And these are not dealt with by your local branch, I would not worry.;)
Good luck and we look forward to hearing the outcome of this, keep at them.

Hi Di,
thanks again. I wasn't sure if they would take the "hump" with other accounts that I have and really don't want to uproot my current account, credit cards etc with them, so that's really good to know.
I will keep you posted and many thanks for the good advice.

Hi Charlie
With pleasure.
I know many that have worried about this and its all been fine.;) LLoyds as well, I remember asking that question myself before, and so far everything is fine, infact they have never been so helpful and don't forget they have to treat their customers fairly.
Afterall your not actually having a go at anyone personally, you have the right here and its your money.;) Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
