Hi there... I have just received a letter from lloyds saying that they reject my claim for a refund for PPI as i signed all the relevant paperwork. I said that i was miss sold the insurance as I felt pressured into gettint the PPI and that it would help with my application if i took it. Basically they are saying that "LLoydstsb does not do this" but what about the sales woman. Was lloyds sat in on my appointment when i was taking out the loan... I have now lodged my complaint with the FO...

    Hi there
The usual response I received when this was ongoing with them.

Mine is now with the FOS LLoyds TSB Credit Card PPI which is actually the FOS agree to uphold this and now just waiting for a decision from Lloyds by the 20th of this month.

Was this your final response from them?

Good luck and please keep us posted, and yes I know what your saying, as mine was also sold in the branch.;)

    Hi Charlie

    With pleasure.

I know many that have worried about this and its all been fine.;) LLoyds as well, I remember asking that question myself before, and so far everything is fine, infact they have never been so helpful and don't forget they have to treat their customers fairly.

Afterall your not actually having a go at anyone personally, you have the right here and its your money.;) Good luck.
    Hi Di,

Update on my ppi letter to Lloyds re my unsecured loan with them. I posted a letter to them on the 12th February by recorded delivery and I have today received a letter from them dealt with on the 13th! that they had conducted a full and thorough investigation!!! Of course, it was a rejection letter stating that they had from the outset said that the insurance was optional.

The insurance was basically foistered on the loan, irrespective of the fact that I told them that I had and still have a very generous benefit package through my employers, more insurance cover than you can shake a stick at! not to mention copious amounts of personal insurances etc.

Apparently, they are now stating that I told them that I only had accidental death cover and nothing else! which is factually incorrect.

I have today penned another letter to them and will send by recorded delivery to them on Monday, so will keep you posted of what their next move is.

thanks again for your earlier assistance.

  • I have a friend who i have been helping with her ppi claim with lloyds. Her first reply letter stated she had signed the forms so tough, She wrote off again and sent it first class and got a phone call the following day from the woman who had answered her first letter saying you have had our answer and that is our final response.

she has since taken this to the financial omb who have sided with her as her employer provides full pay for all absenses no matter what length so the ppi would not have been suitable for her, and also as they stated that she must take this or no loan would be provided,

lloyds were given until this week to answer and still nothing?

they do not appear to be the best company at dealing with these requests and seem to try to drag things out, (meaning they end up paying more interest so not the most sensible)

Hi there and I must agree with you.

I also am waiting for the result of mine, the FOS have given them until the 20th of this month, so fingers crossed for us all.;)

The first adjudicator/caseworker agreed it should have been upheld due to my circumstances of the PPI added where I was not working but only receiving the children's benefits a month, lloyds did not agree, so this had been moved on further within the FOS.

It was reported in the financial times that the FOS has reported companies to the FOS who are being deliberately obstructive in theit dealings with straight forward PPI mis selling cases. They say too many cases are coming to the FOS that the companies should be resolving themseves.
Also too many companies are questioning the FOS decision to uphold claims when it is obvious the consumer has been mis sold(or words to that affect)
So hopefully this will result in more fines and complaints dealt with better by companies.

    Hi there,

As you may have seen from my comments earlier, I wrote to Lloyds about a ppi complaint on the 11th February and literally within 24 hours! they had conducted a thorough investigation, doesn't sound very thorough at all. Standard generic template fob off letter which had been tweeked to look vaguely personal.

Another letter prepared to go by recorded delivery, so fingers crossed!

I have also today received my letter telling me I am unable to claim as I had signed the forms.

My reasons for claiming against Lloyds are
    * full time employer who gives me a full benefits package including 7 months sick pay so I never wanted it in the first place but they do not seem to agree that it is possible their branch staff are pushy.

    * 3 out of the 4 loans I have taken out with them had PPI - The one I did not take PPI was the only one which I took out online with no hassle from their staff in branch.

They have included the FOS leaflet with their rejection telling me to contact them.

After reading my reasons above does anybody think I have a good case ?
