Right i have made a big error
I have just managed to go back through my online banking ( surprised it goes back that far ) THIS PPI did in fact start in December 2003 when we applied for a increase in our mortgage, is my claim now void?
The original insurance i thought started back when we took the mortgage was for life insurance, and was cancelled and changed to a different company a couple of years later.
i feel a fool now, as i got this all rolling due to a company phoning me and telling me i was entitled to claim the money back, assuming i paid them 25% + VAT.0 -

Hi there, are you using this company?. When you put a claim in for mis sell, they go by the policy for ppi, if yours started in 2003 then that is what they will go by, wouldnt hurt to give them a ring and let them know you made an error in the date. Also you now have actual proof to give them.0

No i am not using the company, as i do not see why i should give someone 25% of my money + vat , when i can try myself, with advice from the good people here
Just feel alittle foolish, for getting the original dates and policies wrong. and wonderd if my claim is still valid being as it was 2003 when it was took out.0 -

Hello All
I have had a response back from LLoyds TSB stating that they will pay me back £501 for my credit card PPI. I became unemployed last October and have been on the list for PPI for a refund since then. My question is should i accept the £500 or take it further? It seems like they just paying back my PPI payments only.
But if PPI had of worked i would not be behind on my payments on my credit card. I rang Lloyds TSB and they stated they have gone with what the ombudsman would have stated but i feel LLoyds are fobbing me off with the £500 or am i wrong?
Many thanks0 -

Why did the ppi not work and when did you take this card out with ppi?.
The PPI didn't work because i became unemployed after a three month trial. And i was told that if it was a probation period then that doesn't count towards PPI protection.
I was explained when i took out the PPI by the bank that i would be protected if i ever became 'unemployed'. Which i did. Lloyds TSB offered me £500, but I explained to them, if the PPI had helped me then i wouldn't be behind on my credit card payments, so theoretically the offer of £500 is not enough. I have received today an envelope from the ombudsman to take this further,... or do you think i am wasting my time???
Kind regards
Ps

Hi there
Do you know how much PPI you have actually paid into the account?
If they accept liability and not an offer, then generally they should refund you all the payments of PPI you have paid towards the account, and the PPI would have been included within the monthly card payments you paid everymonth (so much of that PPI).
I would otherwise ask them to provide you with a detailed breakdown. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Newbie alert!
I am seriously considering submitting my complaint re. PPI with Lloyds-I’ve filled out the FO questionnaire and it’s ready to go-but I was just looking for a second (or third etc!) opinion to check I am doing the right thing.
Will try to be as concise as possible! In 2006 I was asked to speak to a financial adviser upon a routine visit to the bank (was actually depositing money!) who had a look through my finances and decided that the best option for me at the time was to consolidate all outstanding repayments and take out a loan. At the time I had car finance through Black Horse, a credit card with Lloyds and an overdraft with Lloyds. I was making regular repayments by direct debit for both the car and credit card, and was always well within the overdraft limit.
The adviser was pretty pushy about the loan and the PPI to the point that I felt I couldn’t not take both out. Re. the PPI, I was not told it was optional, was given the impression it was compulsory and just part of the repayments. With this being back in 2006 (and the loan finishes this Dec), I cannot remember the adviser going into any detail about what the PPI covered or how much it would add to the cost of overall repayment. At the time I was working and had no other form of cover or savings to protect myself should I have needed to, however knowing what I know now, I could have purchased PPI elsewhere at a far cheaper rate.
Bottom line-I felt pushed into taking the PPI (as well as the loan but that is a separate issue!) and was led to believe it was part of the loan.
I realise that to an outsider I look like a complete mug-they totally saw me coming!- and I feel so embarrassed that I let myself be talked into it all. I am worried, like the initial poster from way back when, about Lloyds getting the ‘hump’ once I have complained, so I want to make sure that my complaint is valid.
