Gizmos_dad wrote:Not sure what the hell is going on with mobile rainbow, but they have paid the full year's cashback amount in to my bank account as mentioned above. However they have also put in a defence claim on the on line claim I made against them. Not sure what I am supposed to do now. Can anyone please enlighten me as to the next course of action, or shall I just sit tight...
Same happened to me here, how did you resolve this? ie. they defended so I could not proceed any further online but have paid the amount in full including the claim amount to my bank account.0 -
Well, I've finally filed my small claims court case. Here's hoping it's the best £30 I've ever spent0
-
what amount are you claiming from mobile rainbow, because it cost me £50 process a claim, anyway got full money from them into my bank account this morning for both my contracts month 9 and month 12 cashbacks total £443 and my £50 court fee's , so im happy now just need to look round for another cashback deal that will pay out a bit easier this time.My contracts run out in 4 weeks and the other one in 6 weeks.0

£285, which is the sum of my 2nd + 3rd cashback.0

just a update i got paid up all my cashback yesterday so dont need to worry about my 12th claim now, if they breach they contract and dont pay i dont see why they should get away with it, im sure if your claim was a day late they would stick to they T&C's and not pay you your cashback, so should work both ways. Just need to look for another cashback deal.0

Well, here's an interesting update. The same day I filed my claim, they posted my cheque out to me for my 2nd cashback.
The cheque is dated on 11/01/2007, yet the postage says 17/01/2007. So that cheque dating is highly dubious. Trouble is, what do I do now? Should I put the cheque aside and demand my small claims is met? Or do I cash this now and just go ahead and send in for my 3rd cashback (which I'm due to send off now).
I don't want to lose the £30 I put into the small claims case, but I also don't want to be faffing to get my 3rd cashback for the next few months and perhaps miss out on it as I didn't send it off.0 -
just leave your claim in to run its course, if they dont contest you win anyway, see if they pay the rest of your cashback into bank if not then its your call either cash cheque or send it back recorded delivery and push for the lot, they have breeched there contract with you for not paying up on time0

Mobile Rainbow have defended my father in laws claim - disputing total amount owed.
No money has been added to his bank account and I only claimed for the remaining cashback for Month 12 (£127.50) plus £30 costs.
Anyone else had this response?
Receipt of cashback fax was acknowledged on time and they hadnt paid within 2 months of its receipt.0 -
Do they not have to say on what grounds they are defending the claim?0

Hello,
I ordered a phone from Mobile Rainbow, A reg. division of MSols Ltd, who also have at least another phone website...
Anyway, I ordered around 4am Friday.
No confirmation email to tell me that the order went through.
No phone call to confirm the order like was told on the final checkout stage.
After this I was a little bit weary, as I know how mobile phone companies "love" to hassle you straight away (9am sharp), I've purchased many contracts before. (Mostly with DialAPhone....)
So I tried phoning Mobile Rainbow up, on both their 0800 and 0870, no answer for over 30 minuets, so I gave up as there was no comforting music to listen to, other than some woman mutter the same message every few seconds about being sorry for the delay.
Anyway, at around 1pm Friday I received a phone. From an Indian sounding man, with poor sound quality the line was crackly...
He asked for all my details again, like bank and debit / address etc etc, like I was remaking the order or something...
Never had this with any other company...
I was even more worried...
Anyway, my order should of been dispatched on Friday for delivery on Monday Garanteed and if I'm lucky on Saturday.
Anyway, it's Monday now, I phoned them after ages listening to that woman appoligise over and over about being sorry about the delay, the Indian sounding man, slightly different to the previous one I think, said that my order has not been dispatched yet, and will be with me in two days.
Now I don't know how others feel about that, but if they can't even deliver the item on time if at all. How's the cashback thing going to work out?
I've looked lots and lots on the internet and read lots of forums, I see a lot people complain about a lot of companies... The most recent one I joined other than Mobile Rainbow... Was Simply3G
They have honoured there first cashback. Also they delivered the item next day like promised. Like I said I've read about people being conned by them.
Another company so far has been realiable is Phone Box Direct, one of my brothers is on his 2nd or 3rd successful contract.
A company that I've heard lots of great comments and recommendations on is, onestopmobileshop, and they have been a nightmare for my other brother, who got ripped off by them, they simply just refused to give him cash back for no reason, even though he had done everything correctly, on time and broke no terms.
So I'm left a little bit confused, it seems all the companies cause trouble at some point or the other regardless of good reviews and others do good even though they have bad reviews...
Back to Mobile Rainbow... I have not read everything on this particular forum, but it seems people are getting cash backs very late, but only after threats of court action.
So I'm asking you lot, if any of you have actually still not received anything and been totally conned, whether its on your 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th cashback claims.
And do you think I should quickly phone them up and tell them not to send the phone, cancel it...
I may just get another phone from phone box direct as they have proven trusty worthy.. well at least in my brothers case...
I'm extra concerned about phone and internet companies, after being ripped off by a internet company called "E7even"
I bought a 2 year contract with them, it was a great deal at the time like £12 a month for 2meg connection (paid up front). first 12 months were fine... but then they decided to take 3 months upgrading... leaving us with no broadband, then another 3 months later they closed up.. apparently they was involved with VAT fraud of 1.3million pounds. We never got our 6 months of money or connection back...
They also blocked our phone line and the only way we could have a connection back up, was join this company called Ezee DSL, who apparently "rescued" the customers of E7even. I joined for a 1 month contract... Read all the terms and conditions, printed them... etc etc. When I tried to cancel it. They wouldn't let me, they said I was on 12 month contract... I demanded that they cancelled it or give me MAC code to change company. Obviously being the a-holes that they are, they refused. So I stopped paying.
But they just blocked my line... And I couldn't join anyone else...
I'm not really bothered any more, it's not worth the stress...
I like to complain about them though and let you good people know who to avoid.
I would not recommend joining Ezee DSL, they seem to be the same bunch of losers from E7even...
Sorry about the very long post.. I'm tired and when I am tired I can't help but talk.0
