  • Morning all and happy Valentine's Day :kisses2:

Yeah it's commercial claptrap but a bit of recognition would be nice - the first text I had from BF this morning just said that he's unpacked some more boxes in his flat last night and been out for a curry

I too went out for a curry last night - paid for by my boss's boss :D as we were all in the office until 21:30 and hadn't eaten. Travelled home on the last train with colleague who lives near me, who was also suffering from "rubbish men-itis" and needed a bit of a chat and a hug. Course I woke up this morning feeling like I ate a big meal at 11pm last night - which of course I did :o. It's still sitting heavy on my stomach.

Shouldn't think I'll be working late this evening and was thinking I might go and see "Walk the Line" at my local cinema which is very cheap on Tuesdays - my BF and a few people from work have all recommended the film very highly. But TBH I think I need an evening at home (more tidying and other housework) and an early night, especially because I will have a couple more late nights in the office before this week is over. Chicken stir fry sounds good; I've got a lot of fresh veggies which won't last much longer, it'll only take a few mins to prepare (plus defrosting the chicken pieces in the MW), and will create minimal washing up.

    GOOD LUCK MRS MATH!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY  :kisses: :kisses3: especially to all us singletons out there!!!!!!
This is definatly the time of year when i feel like Bridget Jones (before Daniel Cleaver and Mark Darcy) so hurrah for big knickers, Milk Tray and bottles of wine  !!!!
Well, nice and easy day today, DS and DD at school, 2 little ones here, and we are happy playing lego today!!! Only half a load for the WM, so will leave it until tonight, DW emptied and dishes put away, BM on and SC on with a nice pork stew cooking away, so nothing else to do until lunchtime, when i will whip the hoover around before little ones have their sleep (its amazing how much mess 2 little ones can make in such a short space of time!!!)
DD actually slept in her own bed last night, but then came in and woke me up at 2am, so not the peaceful night i had hoped for!!!
Well, hope everyone has a lovely day, take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Morning everyone :)

Didn't dare come on this morning until I had done some housework and had something to report on lol. WM has just finished so have two loads to hang out, I think its just decided to stop raining as the sky has cleared and the sun has come out. :) so thats two tumble drys I haven't had to do. Filled the DW and will turn on shortly trying 3/4 of a tablet to see if it works any better than 1/2. Cleared and cleaned kitchen worktops, recycling bin is full ready for bin men tomorrow. Still need to empty other bins and get them ready to put out.

Munch woke up in a bad mood this morning which has not helped me, had the wind well and truly taken out of my sails this morning when I received the post and a bill from British Gas for Gas _pale_ I have been doing really well and got the bill down from over £200 to £40 last time and thought I would actually be able to change suppliers this month...opened the bill and we have used £319 worth of gas from 17/11/0 - 8/2/06   :wall: so I am well and truly gutted back to square one and owe them £242!!! They were actual readings not estimates but I'm going to check them just to make sure. :( Think I'm going to have to look into doing their price freezing thing as it looks like we will be stuck with them for atleast another year, possibly until we move, does anyone know about there scheme?

Pully bit came for our car this morning so just need the cam belt to arrive and will have the car repaired fingers crossed by the end of the week, neither have actually failed yet but pully has gone before Pug 306hdi common fault (thanks Mr Peugout  ) started to hear the tale tale noises so being on the safe side as we can't afford a new engine. Got to buy four new tyres next week as well watch this space to see what discount I managed to get out of them. :D

Plan for today is to walk into town to the library and see if they have Money Diet Book in and also slow cooker cook books and veg gardening books, Munch can spend some time playing in child section as well so we'll both be happy. Probably pop into wilko and find some cheap veg seeds as well, it is very sunny now so glad we will be able to walk as trying not to use car. Might feed the ducks at the Arborteium (sp?) on the way home.

Its a long one today sorry bout that. Spoken to DH who is going to send me a free ecard and I'm going to make him a card today. Also spoken to my friend last night and she is going to lend me her BM and recipe book as she doesn't use it anymore.

    B - Cereal (haven't had it yet)
L - Cheese sandwichs on wholemeal (not hm)
D - Cottage pie and veg

I hope everyone has a really good day, hope Mrs Math's interview went well.

  • Happy Valentines day everyone

Hope you are all at least enjoying the sun if nothing else today.

I thought DH had forgotten, but he just PMed me to say soppy things so i feel better. we said we wouldn't do cards or anything naff this year. We did go out for a meal the other weekend, and said that would do for v day, and to celebrate us having been together 6 years on the 25th. We don't normally bother going out on the 14th anyway - we did the 15th last year and got much better service at our local indian - they gave me a rose, and we had a lovely meal in a virtually empty restaurant - what does it matter about a date?

I'm not going to be up to much today - my back is still killing. I think i have trapped a nerve. It's eased off from last night, but is still really tender just between my shoulders. i had a whiplash injury here a few years ago and it plays up when i get cold or if i overdo it.

On the bright side, i think my car is ready to be picked up today if i'm up to driving, and my BIL will let me pay him next week after pay day thank god, as i'm feeling very skint.

I didn't do too badly with the pedometer yesterday. I know i should be doing loads more, but for me having only done 2000 av. for the past couple of months i was pleased. Plus i was at home all day due to the workmen, who did a fantastic job. Someone else up the street booked them on the strength of what they could see them doing.

Best get on as i'm seizing up a bit. I'm going to be extra nice to everyone today, as i think a little love needs spreading.

hope you all have a good day, and i'll be thinking about you all. Oh, and well done catowen on hitting 8000 steps, and i hope you've remembered yours today snowy owl.

    Michelle :heart2:

    Good morning all!

'Fraid we don't do too much in the v day line here either. Whilst I like getting flowers etc, I would hate it to be restricted to once a year!

The weather is a bit miserable here, not raining but not doing much else - just looking yucky. DS wants to make candles, he couldn't be bothered yesterday, so we will do some of that and I also need to pop into town - go to the library and building society.

Dinner will most likely be soup (episode 3 of Sunday's chicken).

Math: hope Mrs Math's interview goes well. Whatever the outcome, you know you and your family will be taken care of.
PP - hope you are able to go, have a lovely time.
Pooky - have a nice time when you do go to Colchester Zoo - we last went there about 4 years ago.... but I drive past it at least once a week!!!!

    :heartsmil:heartsmil:heartsmil:heartsmilHappy Valentines day everyone :heartsmil:heartsmil:heartsmil:heartsmil

I've just spent a FORTUNE on OH's surprise for tonight! Well, when I say a fortune, for the actual suprise itself I've spent £18.33 which includes meatballs & a chocolate pud for DD ;) I also bought myself 3 bunches of flowers from Aldi as they were £1.79 a bunch and I wanted loads so it worked out cheaper to buy those three bunches than one big one

OH has sent me a Telegram (telegramsam.co.uk) :lovethoug and he's sent me an email with instructions for tonight. Basically after tea I have to go upstairs out of the way until just before 8pm  and he'll wash the dishes and tidy up. Soooo... I had to send him one back saying "When you get in you need to take your daughter upstairs to bed and read her a story until I say you can come down again" :rotfl: My surprise for him is a three course meal ALL PREPARED (not old style or moneysaving I know but it's time saving and will give me a chance to dress the table etc ;) ) : Tomato & basil soup (chiller from Asda), Beef Cannelloni (chiller from Asda, single portions but saves me trying to serve it up!) and strawberry cheesecake (Weight Watchers individual ones from the freezer in Asda) I've also bought two bottles of non-alcoholic Asda-own-brand wine stuff (think Schloer but without the cost!) one rose and one white, a white table cloth (pack of 3 laminated ones which means I can also use one for when I cut OH's hair - multiple uses :p ), red paper napkins, heart confetti and 3 tealight holders for the centre of the table. The big bunch of flowers will be going in a vase on the table as well! This is the biggest effort I've ever made for OH so he better appreciate it!

Better go as I need to go wash dishes and get washing etc done before I run the laundrette with it and then on to the post office with OH's ebay parcels. Have a LOVEly day all :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart:grinheart
