    Morning all,

I love these new smileys :lovethoug :kisses2: , think those 2 are great!

We don't do valentines here either, DH moans that if he only demonstrated his love one day a year life would be a sad place.....bless.

DD's have made cards for my friends boys, it's one of those things they've done each year, but I suspect this year will be the last, they're all getting to the "ewwww he's just a friend" age.

Nothing to OS today - we're off to the cinema and pizza hut as one of our half term treats. But unlike most holidays, I've actually got the money in my account to pay rather than having to shove it on a credit card.....pleased about that.

    Brekkie - Toast and cereal
Lunch - Pizza hut - DH has wraps
Dinner - Egg and beans on toast for those who've not stuffed themselves at the buffet table.....

Got some paper work to get up to date for an inspection tomorrow but that shouldn't take long, so the day is pretty much my own! Spoke to soon, DD1 has just dropped a bottle of squash on the kitchen floor.........only washed the floor last night.....typical!

    Ho hum......

    Have a great one all.

    Morning All,

What a loved up bunch you are today, its nice to see. DH and I dont do valentines as our anniversary is on the 22nd, 6 years this year! I've told him to spend no more than a fiver and that chocs would be great :grinheart . I've bought him the full Star Wars set from ebay, it all copies of course but only cost me £11.59!!! So guess what I'll be watching for the next few forseeable weekends?

I tried to do a cheese and onion loaf in the BM last night - DISASTER. Its completely sunk in the middle and tastes of nothing really, certainly not cheesy which is what I was hoping for. Will be sticking to the cinnamon and raisin creation from now on - YUM.

More laundry to do today, I swear there must be a laundry orgy in my house each night as in the morning there always seems to be a bigger pile than when I went to bed. Other than that, nothing much on today, half term and all. I ought to be packing really but have run out of baxes so need to call the removal guys today to see how far in advance they let us have their boxes. I have HUGE butterflies lately,am sure something is going to go wrong and our buyers will pull out. Its keeping me up at night. I will be SO happy when this move is over and done with, March 10th is looking like moving day.

Righto, off to see how my kiddies are doing, they're watching Dora in the front room.

    Chat Later,
    Al.

    Hi all
Just got back from taking hubby to work, we don't tend to celebrate St Valentines day here, we are usually too broke, lol. Though I did make hubby egg on toast for breakfast instead of his usual porridge.
Raining here, so I'll probably curl up under a quilt & read some more Harry Potter for a couple of hours at least till the first WM load is finished, then I'll drape it over the radiators to dry. I've got a lot of paperwork to sort out today & I must try & make some shortbread today too, been promising hubby some for ages. I'm trying to find somewhere cheap to cut my hair too, it's way past my shoulders & I feel I'm too old for flowing locks so I keep it up with a large comb. all the cheapie deals seem to be available when I'm at work.

    Breakfast for me was porridge
    Lunch Scrambled egg on toast
Tonight Pork chops, hubby's favourite, as a treat for Valentines.

Hugs & Blessing on you all.
    Sue

  • morning and happy valentines day

Doh I left the alarm to come on an hour earlier than I wanted so have already prepared HM bread, date and walnut loaf, muesli traybake and made another box of HM muesli

Off to aldi shortly and will then make a red cabbage bake from `green cuisine`. It feels warm today so the heating is off as the oven will be on anyway.I notice that I am getting into a pattern for baking and clothes washing ie baking all in one morning and washing machine loads on friday evening and Ironing monday am. I couldn`t do this when the children were at home

Did a lovely lamb casserole in SC yesterday. Added black beans (tesco boil 10 mins first) and some barley. It must have been one of the best ones I have made to date with the bonus that there is enough for today.

  • We don't "do" Valentines Day in our house - load of commercial claptrap really IMHO
    Couldn't agree more ;)

We exchange cards and it's an excuse for a bottle of wine but that is it.It's our wedding anniversary on the 25th so more cards.Actually don't think we'll bother this year seems like a waste of money unless I make him one.OH always has a day off on our anniversary and b'days,we go somewhere nice for lunch which I love.It seems like such a treat,I much prefer it to an evening out, don't have to worry about babysitters,or get dressed up.

Trip to the health food shop planned today to stock up on sunflower seeds,(not nut-free unfortunately)cornmeal(for cornbread), and soy beans.

Might take the kids to the library depending on how I feel-probably not it always ends in an argument.

    Breakfast-cereal and toast for kids
    Lunch-leftover soup
Supper-Kids need to eat early because of judo so pasta with salami and peas for them.Us-not sure, maybe pasta with prawns in a spicy tomato sauce.

Will probably make some muffins for the kids,or maybe breadcrumb cookies from The Tightwad Gazette

Have a lovely lovey Valentine's day if you like that sort of thing ! :smileyhea

I must say I like the smilies :heartpuls :happyhear :happyhear
  • Morning all :kisses:

happy 14th of Feb. We don't do V day either - you don't need one day in the year to tell someone you love them - it's the other 364 that matter.

Hugs to all who need them

Had a great sleep last night - read some more of my E-book - always bodes well for a good nights sleep does reading before hand.

Dinner last night ended up being beef stir fry with pepper and onions and noodles with a Thai Green curry sauce - mmnn lovely.

DW put on before leaving house - have finally mastered the correct amount of soap powder to put in. WM almost full - will put on when I come home from work.

OH has been left note to do 2 things today - lets see if he can acheive them

    B - Hm granary toast
    L - toast and pate
D - pork steaks, oven chips and egg (cooked by OH)

    Off to morning meeting now

    Take care all

    Good luck Mrs MATH

  • Oh I love Valentines day! :kisses2: I saw that because I have the sweetest OH EVER and he always treats me to a special meal, lovely gifts and flowers! Its only our third valentines together but I hope it will becoma a tradition as it really does help to have just one special day where we do whatever we want (or can) especially when I am ill so often and can't do very much.

Not surpisingly I am ill today, came down with the flu on Sunday. I haven't got the cold bit yet, just the sore throat, shivers and going hot and cold all thge time. I managed 5 hours sleep which was a vast improvement on none the previous night! I was up at 5 and had to go and sit in the front room as OH is taking his driving test today and I kept wakeing him up!!!! He went out about 20 minutes ago but his test is at 9.37, isn't that an odd time to have a test? I really hope he does well, he failed one before on one small thing so were hopeing this time might be different.

I need to wrap his pressies up in a mo, I got him a bargain Animal watch from the outlet shop, RRP £59.99 and I paid £10.00! I also got him a few bits for our kitchen when we move, an Alice in Wonderland sugar bowl, mug and milk jug, wooden spoon and cake forks. All from Whittards tea shop. I know he will love them!

Have a lovely Valentines all :smileyhea These smiles are great, I hope they stay after Valentines! Take it easy.
  • Morning all

    Sorry me again......

Just had some tesco clubcard vouchers through, you can now redeem them online for deals....I've just ordered enough to pay for a day at Colchester Zoo for us all and managed to bag a £10 travellodge room....means it will only take us 10 mins to get to the zoo rather than the nearly 2 hours if we left from home.....DD's are all excited!
