Frizz/CQ/PP - when I was 5 we had a regular supply teacher who used to bring in her pet tarantula to entertain the class
MATH - if Mrs MATH gets that job (assuming it's the well known chemist beginning withyou do realise she will be mobbed by all the regulars on the Grabbit board :rotfl: Re your financial probs, is there anything you can do personally (p/t work?) to bring in a bit extra? Even just short-term while things are really tight? Or (as I've suggested before) find a way of making a bit of money out of one of your "two places at once"? I've put in a word with "him upstairs" anyway as per your request
tootles - :grouphug: Do get that water bill checked out, you wouldn't want to find you're getting worked up over nothing if they've got it wrong.Operation Get in Shape

Afternoon all :hello:
Just a quicky from me too. It's not 1/2 term till next week, but I have DS2's little friend here this afternoon - they keep each other entertained so I can get on
Need to do a laundry shuffle (basket to WM to TD/airers) and ned to gt to grips with the kitchen - still got all the big pans and crockpots to wash. Fish pie currently defrosting, will have steamed veg with it. There's some jelly & fruit or some milk pud left for afters.
Mr TM knows what it means to clean a bathroom now thoYesterday he kept comeing into the en-suite to find me with my jeans rolled up, inside the shower cubicle scrubbing and polishing tiles, or wiping down the pipes behind the loo etc. Hmmmm - 1 hour I spent - he thinks you hang the towel up and flush the loo :rotfl: In fact, still need to polish the mirror and the glass shelves cos had to leave it to pick DS1 up froma party.
Ok, must get on and keep an eye on two mischevious 3yo's
Have a good day and good luck to Mrs MATH

I have treid to phone the water board twice this morning and the extension I need is engaged.....I wonder why......everyone hot under the collar about their bills I guess. Have e mailed their CSD and asked for someone to ring me and explain. Are 0845 no's expensive????? I am trying to keep my phone bill down as well we use 1899, but I guess 0845 numbers are non inclusive as I did not get the 1p a minutes message. I may well try them after 6pm their call centre is open until 8pm.
I have just been to Tesco to do a top up shop, have GC and DD coming on Wednesday for lunch, sheps pie needed carrots and frozen peas to go with it......and some extra fruit. I am also going to put a couple of tablespoons of sage and onion stuffing in with the mince, makes it taste nicer and go further......
Its quite mild here too, the heating has not kicked in since first thing, so thats ok. I had been looking at buying a DVD player, but we would have to get a scart splitter another scart lead and along with the player was looking at over £50. Forget it.....will have to keep watching on the lap top. I will have to have another go at some of the stuff on ebay...... we are going to do a boot sale later and we also have quite a bit of the caravan bits to sell, including an almost new awning we bought last year. I am going to put that in the local newspaper in March when the season starts again. I am going to have a list up when we do the boot sale of caravanning bits we have for sale, might be able to sell some that way.
Egg and chips for supper with apple and gooseberry crumble, need to do a pot of tomato sauce to freeze and put the mince for the shepherds pie in the SC overnight...my head is bursting, so am off to make a cup of camomile tea and take some pain killers............

thriftlady wrote::wave: Morning everyone,
Half term here too,3 kids underfoot all week.I don't go in for exciting holiday- type activities for my kids during school hols.So nothing special planned, any shopping trip is bound to end in an argument about buying something.Think we'll just hang out at home making sure we go for a walk every day.A few necessary errands will be done but that's it.
The one thing I'm going to do is get dd a doctor's appointment(hopefully today) to review her allergies. I want her tested for specific nuts and the degree of likely reaction if that is possible. She hasn't had a reaction to nuts since she was 21 months(she's 6 next month)so I'm wondering just how allergic she is.My mum has a friend who's son is allergic to nuts, and he's been told by a consultant that his allergy is such that he need not worry about the 'may contain nuts ' warnings on packaging. This is what I'm hoping for
Uh oh dd has just discovered that she can't get Nickjr on the telly anymore(no Sky now).I thought she had graduated to CBBC.She's got a hacking cough this morning so I'm definitely ringing the docs'.
Thriftlady, have you seen thsi thread??

Why oh why can't men work logically. DH has got bored in bed, got up and decided to shampoo the hall carpet. So now I can't do any of the things that really needed to be done before the carpets could be shampooed properlyOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Afternoon
Went out and did what we had too:rolleyes: and ended up in a cafe having a delish roast lamb dinner, OH scampi/chips/salad and DD having 2 eggs, chips and 2 bread/butters, an ice cream for DD and 2 drinks between us. Came to £10 but was lovely and fresh and a Macd's would have been about the same:D it was a treat and havent eaten in a cafe for years. Before anyone says anything...NO we didnt have a the cooked breakie this morning....we had cereal and OJ..LOL.
Between Asda and Aldis, bought tons of food reduced and 10 loaves of bread for the freezer (25p in Aldis+lovely and soft) and everything we needed and spent in total £46. Also bought a few extras like cake tins, vileda mop on special etc, so didnt do too bad. DD bought Nanny Mcphee DVD with her own dosh.
CQ-Thanks for the advice, its much apreciated! DD already has the vivarium from the tortoises she had. She has bought recently a thermostat, lamp and bulb, sand, cricket keeper/feeder, heat mats and some other bits. Still need to get a couple of small bits but the bulk is bought. The dragon will cost around £40:eek: I really dont like anything like this...yuk!! DD & OH have been borrowing books from the library about the reptiles.
Feeling totally knackered now. Nothing indoors have been done except shopping away and we have been invited to friends for dinner at about 6.30. OH has just onformed me that he is trying the new mop out and doing the floors downstairsoh well...cant moan.
Take care

Thanks Elaine but we don't have freeview either. We thought that's what we were getting when the Sky went, but apparently it's not available in our area-anyone in Worcester know any different? We still get all the BBC channels,so CBeebies and CBBC are there. No E4 or More4 though.
Anyway dd wasn't that bothered she's actually growing out of Cbeebies and Nickjr. They're all watching The Two Towers at the mo.0 -
Afternoon everyone, thank you for the kind welcome
Well so far I have managed to hang out half a line of washing (ran out of pegs, have brought some today so need to put the rest out before it rains). Have been and done the food shopping from tesco, went to Lidl and brought lots of seeds, not all the ones I needed but most. Looked at instore/poundland but the seeds were about twice the price so will walk into town tomorrow and try wilkos, did check the price of seeds in tescos  .....after I got up off the floor lol I carried on shopping needless to say without purchasing any seeds from them!
Munch (DD) found some talc this morning and covered herself and DH's sofa with it so will have to vac that up at some point....at least it will smell nice. :rotfl:
I hope Mrs Math's interview goes well....I have shot up a prayer for you guys as well. :A
