I have been reading but not posting for a few days - my rollercoster life is currently on a downward bend - I can see the peak though! I haven't posted cos I didn't want to drag the thread down!

Bigs Hugs to Joanne and everyone else. And I need to get a pedometer too!

Off to work later - technically have the week off! Boss is skiing and should be piece and quiet!

Went through my magazines this weekend (the 99p for 3! ones!) and cut out all the recipies I like. Theres a lot, so a bit of inspiration for next weeks menus!

Gave the girls bedroom a flammin great big cleanout yesterday. 4 sacks of old/broken/junk/paper. 2 sacks of shoes. 2 sacks of old clothes. Off to the recycling bit later today. It needed to be done ready for the big move in a few weeks/months time. We are only swapping rooms, but in our current room we are putting in a false wall so the little ones have their own bit, the bigger two do as well and we have the smaller room on our own. I am fed up sharing with the babies!

Baby has just fininshed breakfast, so off to do a clean up!

    Good Morning everyone

Hope those whose days have started out nicely continue that way and those whose days didn't start so well get the pleasure of seeing them improve... did I get that the right way round

PoshPaws, put my name down for one of those all-body warm wheat bags, sounds fantastic!

Johanne, saw your post yesterday, Big hugs to you Hun, don't let it daunt you. I find that one of those peep holes, the ones with the glass in them that lets you see all around, not just staight ahead, has really helped me feel secure.

I've been having a busy few days so not much time to post, same again today, want to get cracking on those filing cabinets while the job doesn't sem too daunting. Normal Monday jobs to do as well and must do a meal plan, that one is really proving to be a sticking point icon11.gif. Me an "plan" just never seem to manage to get it together.

Breakfast: toast, fruit and a glass of soya milk
Lunch: HM soup and HM bread (am I getting to be a right smarty-pants or what icon10.gif)
    Dinner: Have to plan
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

    Hi all
I'm only working Wednesday this week, so today I'm going to pay a cheque into hubbys bank account then goint to get him a couple of pairs of joggers to wear for work, I might have a quick look for a brown skirt for myself, I have a really nice brown jacket & need a skirt to go with it. I'm meeting a friend for lunch on Thursday & may stock up on books at the same time as there is a good second hand bookshop near her. I need a copy of the 2nd Harry Potter as I let my stepson take it home with him.
I'm hoping to get back on track financially now he's gone, once I've paid off his phone bill!!
    Blessings on you all.

    Morning all

First day of half term here and both DD's have stinking colds.....They just seem to be catching one thing after another lately! No real plans for today, huge pile of washing to sort and put away and probably a load to stick going. Kitchen floor needs a wash too but I'll leave that until tonight, it's raining at the moment and I'll just end up with muddy cat prints all over it.

Went to visit my parents yesterday, their new house is great - just right for them. We came away with 2 huge suitcases that they no longer need and the contents of the shed that was still full when they moved in....we've gained a newish looking lawn mower, a strimmer and a hedge trimmer! Will put the suit cases in the loft later and fill them at the weekend with stuff that's just boxed or bagged at the moment. Also got a huge bag full of wool for my next crocheting project. My cousin was thrilled with the blanket I made for her, she was almost in tears...bless. (I'm hoping it was tears of joy and not tears of "oh my god look at the state of this") I also told her about white vinegar for putting in the wash ....she was impressed....she's a midwife too and said she'd recommend that as she can't stand seeing new babies all wrapped up in over perfumed clothes.

    Brekkie - Toast and cereal
Lunch - Depends what they fancy - I'm thinking wraps with melted cheese and ham,
Dinner - Will have to consult menu planner in a bit.

As we didn't eat here yesterday I've got an extra meal from my meal planner, we also managed to make a meal on friday from stuff that wasn't accounted for on the meal planner - A veggi chilli and potato wedges, to use up the just turning veg...and it was yummmmmmy!

Had to pop to town on Saturday and buy new school shoes for DD2, new plimsoles for DD1 and a pair of party shoes for her also. She's been asked to the school valentine disco by a boy from her class who shes totally in love with.....ahhh to be 10 again. Took them to "claires" too, they spent some vouchers , all their sale items, regardless of price, were 3 for a fiver so they got some lovely stuff.

Will try and do some baking today, there's no biscuits or cakes in the house at all and I've got a choccy craving, muffins me thinks!

Anyway, hope you all have a great one.

Morning everyone :) I'm a newbie to this section of the site so I hope you don't mind me joining in the chat.

Todays jobs are food shopping (Tesco), did my meal planning last night. Am going to pop into Lidl first with an open mind, I'm especially looking for seeds from Lidl as I am going to start growing my own veg this year. Have two loads of washing to hang out but the weather here isn't looking very promising...if it doesn't cheer up I'll have to tumble dry it (shock horror...I've only recently figured out why my electricity bill is so high!! have vowed to hang out washing whenever possible...I like drying clothes outside anyway smells much nicer but only do it in the summer). Have loads of tidying and washing to do but doubt much will get done.

Feeling a bit down this morning, partly to do with SAD and I think and a couple of other things. DH was on holiday last week so spent all week with me and munch (my little 2 year old girl) before that he was off for about a week as we all had that horrid tummy bug thats going round) We've got used to having him around but I'm sure we'll settle back into our normal routine. He was really down about having to go back to work bless him and its always horrid to see your other half dreading work....I'm sure he'll be okay. Will push through feeling a bit pants and hopefully buying seeds and planning veg will help give me a boost. :) Also started selling on ebay last week so its all very exciting watching the bids and stuff lol.

I hope everyone has a good day. :)

    Welcome mossy icon7.gif

Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit down. I love it when the nights start getting lighter, and just recently that has been so much more noticable, spring is coming :j

Let us know how you get on with your seed search icon10.gif

  • Have promised DD that we will go to reptile shop today(shes after a bearded dragon)

I hope she's been saving up her pocket money then as the vivarium alone with all the equipment she will need - UV lights (need changing every 6mths), heat sources, thermostat etc will set her back around £200-£300 ;)

Then she will also need separate tanks to house the locusts and crickets that they eat, which need feeding properly and caring for before becoming dinner! (BTW they DO escape from time to time and keep you awake at night with their chirping so make sure you get an escape proof tank for them :D )

If she's really serious about having one then make sure she does her research well BEFORE even thinking about buying one (she would need to get the vivarium set up a week or so before introducing an animal to it anyway to get the temperature gradients right) and my advice would be to just buy her a book from the reptile shop for now. They should be able to recommend a good one for you but if you want more info and advice feel free to PM me hun :)

  • Morning all :D

It's half term here, and I've managed to get a few days off work - not brill though - I'm off today, Weds and Fri, all split up grrrr - still I've only got to pay the childminder for one day :T

I'm being incredibly lazy - still in my dressing gown :rotfl: I'll have a bath in a mo and get dressed then I might take DD to feed the ducks (we have a gorgeous lake by the back of our house and don't go there nearly enough!)

    B: Cereal
    L: Quasedillas
    D: Meatballs and Spaghetti

    I'm off for a bath - byee
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)
  • Morning everybody, and hello mossy - everybody's welcome here! :hello:

Big deadline at work tomorrow so am likely to be in the office well into this evening, but will try to pop back here nonetheless.

Very glum and annoyed with my BF. He has decided that the best solution to me probably having to work late on Valentine's Day is not to celebrate it at all! I was hoping we could go out for a nice meal to wind down when I finally get out of the office tomorrow :( I know Valentine's Day is a load of commercial claptrap but it matters to me because it's the first time EVER that I've actually had a boyfriend at this time of year! I think he's quite depressed about the fact that his flat is still totally full of junk 2 weeks after moving in and he can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. He really does suck all the positive energy out of a room when he's a bit down! (And this is the man who when we were first going out - bearing in mind we've been on/off for 2.5 years! - celebrated our one-month anniversary with a romantic night-time ride on the London Eye.) I do sympathise with him feeling low but it doesn't make it any more fun for me :(

Still, I was scarily efficient last night! I did loads of tidying and putting away in my bedroom which, as I'm a lodger, is my main living space. It is still a mess and TBH if you hadn't seen the state it was in before you would wonder what I was so pleased about - but believe me, it was a borderline Life Laundry case! Now all my washing is put away, waste paper is bagged up for recycling along with 2 empty wine bottles I found along the way, there's a black bin liner full up and waiting to go to the bin men tomorrow, and everything's looking a lot tidier.

Also I was going through a couple of letters I'd neglected to open from Friday/Saturday, and was pleased to see confirmation of the current value of a smallish investment I made recently with a work share-purchase scheme. With staff discount and so on, the value's currently 75% more than what I put in (in theory - in reality I can't touch it for 3 years or some of the gain will be invalid, so hopefully inflation won't go through the roof and the share price will still be good when the plan matures).

Pooky - my mum struck lucky too when her parents sold their house (to go into a nursing home). She got quite a few things she really needed like a bed for the spare room, a DW that was just the right size for my mum's needs, and lots of other bits and pieces she needed at the time. She also has a number of other pieces of furniture marked "DD2 c/o DD4" (substitute my mum's name for DD4 and my aunt's for DD2!) because my aunt and uncle have lived in Santiago, Chile for the last 30 years and are planning to return to the UK when they retire, so they'll need to furnish a house. TBH I'm not quite sure why they want to come back as they now have 3 grandkids in Santiago - but I'll be happy for my mum to have her favourite sister back within reach.

Wish me luck putting up with my boss today - she's a walking nightmare when she's under stress!

    Catch you later
    Rzl xx
