  • Hi everyone,

Thriftlady - it's definitely worth getting the nut allergy checked out. Myds1 had one that was identified at 18 months but the doctor said we'd identified it early enough and that if he stayed off nuts till he was 5 he should outgrow it - and he did. He's 10 now and he still avoids most peanuts but is OK if he does eat them accidentally and he's fine with cashews, walnuts etc in cooking.

Quiet day here - half term isn't till next week. DH is doing some tutoring at the moment as a favour for a friend of a friend and they've just rung up to cancel again - about the 3rd time in a row. He used to do a fair bit when we were really skint which was fine, but now he's so busy at work this was a definite favour and we just don't need the hassle. (Sorry - vent over) At least they actually phoned up to let us know this time.........

It's really grey and dark here - definitely won't be able to hang the washing out. Am out tonight - but got some Dolcelatte super-reduced in Tesco yesterday - so the others are having that with pasta tonght - all melted into it - yum. Maybe I'll stay in as well!!

The postal strike here is working in my favour at the moment. Nothing is going out to the mainland and I sent a cheque last week, but the money I moved to cover it hasn't cleared yet - hopefully tomorrow.

Lunch is going to be a HM kebab with pita bread, salad and leftover pork I shall heat up in chiili sauce. :j

Well, not half term down in the West Country (why are we different to everyone else???!!!) so my routine is pretty much the same as normal this week!!. Been quite busy already today, DS and DD safely at school, BM on, WM finished and all clothes hung up, dinner marinating in the fridge and the 2 little ones i have today have had their juice and snack and are now playing happily with the cars and animals!!!! (toys, not the street!!!) Think i might do some baking in a minute, havnt made any cakes or buns for a while, and although i had a really bad nights sleep, i feel full of energy, which is not like me at all!!! Maybe i will get 10K steps today!!!! Havnt managed it since i got the pedometer, but i live in hope!!!
Hope everyone has a good day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hugs to all who need them - welcome Mossy

    4 more sleeps then I am outa here for a week's holiday :j :j

This week should be easy as MD is out of the office for 2 weeks and just leave my boss in charge and she will be on the factory floor most of the time (not literally of course) - however I do have some work to get through to make sure all goes smoothly when I am off.

OH brought home a fanatastic program on the laptop yesterday - E-Books - literally hundreds of books - started reading Dan Browns' Angels and Demons as was the only one of his I hadn't read yet - this will keep me quiet for a while as I love reading.

made granary loaf yesterday - turned out lovely

    B - cereal - just had
l - HM toast and pate (lo fat - will attempt my own next week)
D - lucky dip from freezer

    Have a lovely day all

Better go and do some work now

    Take care

    Howdy everybody,

I've had a rather busy day today. I did all the usual Monday chores of vacuming, washing the floors, bathroom etc. Caught up with the ironing. Went shopping. I also did a bit of batch cooking later this arv for when I'm away. It's been humid again here, worst luck. Work tomorrow, and then I will have to come home & pack. Leaving first thing Wed morning. I also have to do more baking so will tackle that tomorrow night. I am driving up with two friends. The bad side to that is that it's an 8 hour drive. I'm not even leaving my state. The joys of living in a gigantic country. We are all taking some food each so we don't have to buy on the way. I'm making a plum struedel using up some plums that I know won't be eaten while I"m away. ;) If it turns out nice will post it when I get back.

I'm off to watch Law & Order that I taped last night. The new eposide of Cold Case is on tonight. :jLove that show. Have a great Monday.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Morning all, funny sort of day here and DH is still ill in bed, don't know how I am supposed to go and get him a valentines day card and pressie with 2 kids underfoot.

Very damp and murky here but not raining and not very cold either.

It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow so I am waiting till then to put the greenhouse up.

    Morning all,

A bit of a mixed w/e for us in the end.

We didn't go salsa dancing as DH's hip was too painful. I was pretty irritated with this as it meant it cost us £10 in tickets and let my friend's down (whose birthday it was :) ). Mind you in the end, I felt so rough (cold-ridden) that it was probably just as well we didn't. I think it was the fact that it was a Valentine's Dance, and he suggested I could go on my own ..... men!

DH took me out for dinner in the end. Dinner was very good, but we came home at 10:30 and I went straight to bed .... unfortunately, just at the point we came in DD woke up and wouldn't settle, an hour and a half later .. she threw up, poor lass. Looks like she has had a bit of that bug going around.

Consequently, I am glad that we do have a tumble dryer! As although I've been avoiding using it ... comes in darn handy when we had 2 changes of bed linen Saturday night, 1 change Sunday night ..... she's bounced back this morning .. 2 bowls of brekkie consumed!

DH has taken my car in to the body shop after I reversed it into a gate the other week :( ... and we have a trip to the dentist this afternoon :)

Just booked tickets to visit "Thomas the Tank Engine" in May, which should be good .... I initially went to book them online, but they wanted £1.50 for credit card fee, and £7.94 for a service charge .... I 'phoned the local station, and paid neither fee. So, that is a true saving!

    O/S .. wassat then?

Weather here is damp .... with forecasted showers for later .... so no chance of getting the washing outside on the line ... and my utility room is packed to the rafters with mattress protectors which can't be tumble dried ....

    Morning

Kids at school and I'm still off with tonsillitis so its quite peaceful chez moi! Half term here starts on Thursday so have a few days to get the house into shape before it is turned upside down again ;)

Baked all afternoon yesterday and into the evening. DD was up half the night with a bad cough - think she may have asthma - so I'm tired this morning. Going to run the hoover over the place, clean the bathroom and wash the floors before I collect DD from nursery. WM on - will have to go in dryer as its wet and dull here  Then will play whatever she wants to play - normally dolls house - before lunch and before its ballet time and time to collect DS from school.
Will iron this afternoon, then SW tonight - have had a bad week and sampled a few of my home baking treats yesterday so I don't expect it to be good news on the scales :rotfl:

B: Oats so simple (in microwave at min)
    L:Beans on Toast ?
D:Chilli made with Quorn (its a green day!)
Kids wont eat that so thwy will be having HM Chicken "nuggets"

    Have a good day everyone!

PS PoshPaws I love my wheat bag - it gets well used in my house - even when i'm just watching telly! I like to be warm!

They really are the greatest invention. We love ours, too. We've even been known to take pity on the Parrot in the deepest of winter and heat up the wheat bag, wrap it in a tea towel and put it in his cage. He will insist on bathing in his water dish, whatevere the weather, then sitting and shivering. With his cover over the top, he's warm and toasty for hours! :D
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:
