Freeview and young children

Options
Not sure if this is the right place but if you have freeview and young children you can watch Dora, Thomas the tank etc on channel 21... they are normally on Nickelodeon TV but as i don't have sky/cable we couldn't watch those programmes.. my little girl loves Dora so now i can tape her few episodes!
Hope it's useful to somebody...

Kids' morning TV just got better!

Do your kids love Dora the Explorer, Thomas the Tank Engine, Maggie And The Ferocious Beast and The Backyardigans?

They are now showing on Freeview on a new slot called Noggin, everyday from 7am - 9am!

Join in with Noggin every morning on TMF (The Music Factory), channel 21 on Freeview (also available on Sky, NTL and Telewest) - for the very best pre-school programmes.

Yes Freeview is getting a whole lot better and looking forward to film 4.

Some boxes can enable you to lock channels for kids if you wasn't aware of that for content I mean.

Havent tried this myself but I seen it on my 3 freeview boxes all the same make but different models.

Thanks for this, dd3 loves Dora! We had Sky, but I got fed up with the four children and dh all arguing over what to watch, sometimes there can be too much choice! Freeview means that there is a small amount of choice, and I can safely leave all the children watching CBBC or CBeebies whilst I cook dinner without worrying what they are looking at!

DH has just taken on a new role at work and is really really busy, so shouldn't be watching telly anyway, not if he doesn't have time to unload the dishwasher for me whilst I'm at work ;)

Can't wait until tomorrow, may get a lie in for half term if dd3 can watch channel 21 :D

  • It's worth checking with a local aerial installer. According to the freeview website, we can't receive it, but we had a freeview aerial installed at the weekend and have fantastic reception - better than we had with NTL!!
