Yippee, I've got my pound sign back
£££££££££
And I think I'm about to kill DH. I've spent all evening clearing the final load of rubbish out of the dining room (mostly his books) and he has spent all evening playing on the PS2
I've also spent £22 buying draught proofing stuff for the house and despite the state of my hands I have managed to fit a letter box draught excluder, brush excluder for the bottom of the front door and some rubbery strip stuff for the dining room french doors. I've also managed to hand sew a giant sized draught excluder for same french doors, it's made a huge difference already. I've also got a whole door excluder for the back door and another brush excluder to be fitted. All I have to sort now is a way of stopping the wind whistling through the kitchen vent. It's in the pantry and it wasn't so bad when the pantry had a door on it but I took the door off last summer and the draught that rattles through now is unbelievable.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

My Lemon Chicken was a success!!! WHOO-HOO!!!!!
My OH actually said he liked it and it tasted nice! (This is REALLY big news coming from him. Everything is usually just okay!)
So from high to instant low.
All the hot chocolate has gone. I bought 8 (yes EIGHT) jars at the begining of January - 20p each when a local shop closed down. All have gone. Every single one. I had TWO cups out of that.
Eldest two (who by coincidence are the hot choc drinkers in the house) say "It wasn't me". I have told them that there is no more HC until the end of Feb at the earliest. 8 Jars should have lasted at least 2 months. AT LEAST! ARGH!!!!!!!!!0 -
Hi everyone! Not really up to doing a proper post at the moment but am managing to read this thread every day so thought I'd just tell you all i'm thinking of you!

hi everyone. well i had a busy but nice day yesterday. we got up early and got on with some jobs before my mum and dad came to visit at lunchtime. dp transformed our cupboard upstairs to house tumble dryer & put shelves above for storage. we now have a home for the hoover etc. meanwhile i got on with hoovering and washing all downstairs floors with my vax hardfloor cleaner. it is excellent - cleans and dries the floors hygenically.
mum & dad came with a van and we both got rid of rubbish ( saved £10 as we would have had to get council to collect it) we were supposed to go out for lunch but my new washing machine hadn't arrived yet so they treated us to an indian takeaway for lunch. yum
they also brought us loads of stuff from them and my auntie to sell at the boot sale. yah! we managed to fit most of it in our old coal shed so not too much clutter.
my dp's mil lives across the road and as shes getting a new sofa has given us her old leather suite. it's only a few years old and cost £2000 new! we've only got the two seater but will get the 2 recliners when their new suite arrives. we then gave our 3 seater leather sofa to my mum and dad for their lounge. so a bit of freecycling going on their.
today i have been mostly doing washings as pretty knackered afer all the sofa shifting.
more good news is that i got two payouts for surveys today!
hope you are all well
