Morning everyone :hello:
Bit of a grumpy one this morning as I didn't sleep too well, and DS overslept so he's currently running around like a hormonal woman on speed trying to get ready so I'm staying out of his way right now LOL!
Finally got round to moving enough boxes so I could put my bed together last night, as it's not doing my back any favours sleeping on the sofa, only to find the damn bolts to secure the framework are missing  ... what makes it worse is that I wasn't the one who took it apart so I haven't got a clue where they might be, although I did tell people to hand me any bolts and fixings from anything that needed dismantling so I could keep them safe
I'm also getting rather peed off with my ex-landlord's stalling tactics in paying back my deposit money for the flat, especially as a new tenant moved in there yesterday, and beginning to wonder whether I'll get so much as a penny back out of him
Ok, grumbles over for now... PP - glad you mananged to sleep better last night and it's good to hear your DD has an excellent career in mind
... I always wanted to be a vet at her age but ended up doing Zoology LOL!
Not sure what my plans for today are yet, although downstairs could do with a good going over - hoover, polish etc - and also need to clean out all the vivs and disinfect all the water bowls etc at some point today. Need to decide what's for dinner too so I can get something out the freezer and lunch will be the last of the squash, pepper and tomato soup I made on Tuesday.
Time for another :coffee: me thinks before I get cracking
Bye for now "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

B:Oreo O's
L: Ham rollsSausage, mash and red onion gravy
Well, I must go and put my warpaint on, strip the beds and stick in WM and do DD's hair - then dash off and do the school run and cycle to work.
Have a good day everyone :wave:Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Morning everyone,
WOAS - hope you feel better soon,
PP - good luck at the hospital
KC - prob a good thing DH not around on the day of your test, less distraction and pressure, i only told one person (who needed to look after DS and DD for me) when i finally passed (3rd attempt) and it was good not having extra pressure from people just before, i was nervous enough!!!!
Well, ive been so on top of the housework, another quiet day for me, have 2 little ones here, but they play nicely together and anything i need to do, i just plan around Dora the Explorer, i know i can put them in front of the tv and they will still be there when ive finished doing whatever ive needed to do, i dont really like letting them watch a lot of tv, but this 20 - 25 mins is a god send each morning!!!!
Well, better get DS and DD ready for school, need to do their packed lunch and then put the bins out!!!!
Have a good day everyone, take care xxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning all.
I don't normally get to this thread before 9pm but I'm now all laptopped and wirelessed up so I can't resist playing with my new toy.
Trouble is, I should be getting ready for work!
I hope today will be a short day at work. There are some things I must do and I just hope my meeting this afternoon doesn't drag on too long.
Pizza for tea and I don't know what lunch will be. Perhaps some soup and a tomato? Must dash.
By the way, my boss didn't sign my travel expenses in time so I am missing £120 in my pay this month that I could have really done with! Boooo.
Have a good day everyone!

Morning :hello:
Another bad night's sleep for me. FOUR times I had to take one orother of the boys back to their own bed. I wouldn't mind but DS2 hung onto the bedhead and screamed and DS1 just lay down and point blank refused. At 4ft4 he's getting too tall for me to lift him easily. In the end, I woke at around 4 to find DS1 tucked up against daddy - I think he realised if he doesn't wake me he's in with a better chance to stayingAnyway - this is a habit that will be broken tonight (again
) Needless to say, the happy fairy is not visiting me this morning ad when I found DS1 still wandering around in his undies and PJ top at 8.30, shooting aliens, when his lift was due to pick him up within 5 minutes, I was not best pleased.
Anyway - nothing much planned for today. Got a phone mystery shopping job to do at around lunch-time. Need to get a bit of fresh produce in and take Mr TM's jeans back to Tesco's. Would like to finish shampooing the upstairs carpets today so might get DS2 to 'help'. Think I'll make a sausage casserole for tea, with mash and veg.
Need to pay Mr TM's CC online and sort some online banking out - alter DD's etc. I'll just have a quick mooch on here tho....
Have a great day everyone :wave:0 -
PP - My daughter was the same. Very quiet with other kids, was eventually picked on because of it and wouldn't answer in class either. Cant shut her up now!!! Once she started secondary, she started to fight back (sadly literally once or twice and in defence) but once she was left alone and found new friends she has really come out of her shell. Teachers can hardly believe it. Shes much more like Mummy now!!
Curry Queen - Have you thought about the small claims court?? I think its free (or very cheap) to pick up the self-fill out forms and return them to the courts/landlord. Not excatly sure of the process but a friend of mine (whose intelliegnce is questionable) managedto complete these herself and deal with it no problem. You dont have to follow it through to court, but it may scare him enough to return your deposit?
I had a landlord once, who years and years ago took £50 out of my deposit for removal of a smoke alarm I had installed in the hallway! Mind you, my OH is scary as are his friends and we got the £50 back fast. Could lend them to you???? LOL!!!!
Kiwi - Well done on the mock!
Jo - Glad you have a weekend off!!
Anyhow WM is on again, there are toys everywhere - which I am not going to bother about until they have gone to bed this morning! Whats the point? I'll end up doing it several times otherwise!
Got to go and get car tax today, forgot yesterday but didn't ned to use the car luckily.
Breakie will be toast with something on it
Lunch will be fruitie stuff
Dinner is HM pizza tonight
Hugs to everyone today - everyone needs one for some reason - whether you think you do or not!!!!

CQ I could lend my exDH to get your money back if you like? He's 6'4 and a bouncer
Hope everyone has a better day. I got a good nights sleep last night only waking up once when DH came to bed and switched the telly on full blast. I even managed to sleep without the tick tick tick of the central heating pump driving me up the wall too much. DH says I will just have to get used to it as he doesn't know what is causing it. It's okay for him to say that as it doesn't bother him
I've got two loads of washing out to dry, one load in the machine, mince for tonights lasagne thawing out, the bathroom cleaned, kitchen floor swept, dishwasher unloaded and the floor mopped. All dry clothes folded and taken into appropriate bedrooms and all before I got the kids off to school. I'm now having a coffee and thawing out as it is freezing out there, supposedly not going to rise above zero all dayOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hehe I might take you up on that yet!
I reckon he thinks he can pull a fast one on me being a woman, but he can think again!!! If necessary I will go down the small claims track to get my money back, and I've also asked him to provide all receipts and invoices for any work he claims to have done.
He reckons the hold up is because he's waiting for the bill to come in from having a new carpet replaced and fitted, which in my opinion was totally unnecessary anyway, but if he can't tell me now how much that has cost then he can't have got proper quotes and selected the cheapest option, if he's even replaced it at all!!!
If I don't hear anything by the end of today I think I'm going to get some legal advice on this and find out exactly where I stand."An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Good morning OSers :hello:
This evening will be my only weeknight at home this week and I need to do lots of cooking and cleaning. So why did I come downstairs this morning thinking "must take meat out of freezer", walk straight to the freezer, then forget what I was doing???So it looks like I'll be zapping sausages/turkey/lamb in the MW on auto defrost while chopping the veg for a casserole!
And I must get the WM on at least twice - I haven't done any laundry for over a WEEK  and am on my last clean bra and my last clean pair of decent socks!
Also need to make some decisions with housemate about entering the 21st century and getting a broadband connection. I don't mind dial-up but he sells professionally on Amazon/Ebay (he has a second-hand CD business) and finds dialup very slow. Also we've had real problems lately with the connection
P-P - I'm so pleased that you had a good night's sleep :j :j I hope you still feel OK after you've had your tests though. You asked the other day whether I found any bargains in Iceland - no, not really, I didn't have a chance to get down there until the next weekend when all I got was a bag of half price fresh carrots  I'll be in touch soon about coming over for a coffee.
CQ - you bring a whole new meaning to the term "making the bed" :rotfl:
Hope you manage to get your deposit back from the landlord - when I left my last place we spent an entire morning thoroughly shampooing the carpets and they looked great, but the letting agency still deducted money from our deposit to get them cleaned professionally
Jo and Kiwichick - aargh, know what you mean about being woken by OH! Mine likes to fall asleep with one or both arms around me - the problem is that I'm 5'6" and a size 14 (i.e. quite average) and he's 6'4" and built like a tank (yeah he's dead cuddly, but his arms are so heavy that I can't breathe when his arm's on top of my ribcage  He also on occasion snores like a jet engine  Kiwi - glad your mock test went well. I must get around to learning one of these days (tried twice - the first time (age 17) didn't take to it at all, second time (age 20) I ran out of money after failing test on first attempt, but then I moved to London and you don't need a car here!)
skystar - that's great news about your bonus. I'm due one this month too, but no idea of what sort of amount to expect. Not expecting much! It's a new scheme, and in future the bonus will be calculated on a combination of company, team and personal achievement over the year - but this year they were so disorganised they didn't even tell us about it until nine months into the year, and because no target setting had taken place at the start of the year, we've been told that this year's amount will be calculated based on company performance only. Company's not performing too well at the moment so TBH I'll be astounded if it's more than a couple of hundred  Payday is the 24th so we shall wait and see.
Right, time to get down to work - very busy round here at the moment.Operation Get in Shape
