:mad::mad::mad: Flipping builders have rang landlady at 10.30 to day they won't be coming today as the order for the new door hasn't come in but they will be here tomorrow :mad::mad::mad::mad: So I had taken 2 bolts, 1 door knob (those big brass ones like on 10 Downing street) and all the draughtproofing off this morning/last night for no reason :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Instead I'm going to take the bedding to the laundrette (its double bedding and it's just taken 2 days to get single bedding dry! ) then come home and I think I might have a bath or laze infront of the TV or surf the net. I don't want to do any jobs that I can leave until tomorrow as I want something to do while the builders are here! Oh well, at least my 10% off voucher for Carpet Right has arrived :D Right, off to check email and then I'm going the laundrette.

Hi Yall, Absolutely freezing here in the emids. Forgot to switch the heating back on when I got back from school and got too cold doing my paid2clicks. you know how you don't realise you have gotten really cold until it's too late and then you can't warm back up. May have to have a wee soak in the bath this afto before school. (I mean wee as in a 'little' soak - I don't bathe in urine:eek: ) hehehehe

I've made an enormouse cottage pie today to serve 5 MATHS which means it would feed 8 'normal' adults and only used 1/2 lb of mince. Is this a record:confused: Oats, celery, beans, carrots, onions, bell pepper, tomatoes all went in. The fridge has never looked so tidy. Shame the same cannot be said for the rest of the house. Downstairs will get a good 'seeing to' tomorrow:D Upstair on Friday.

    CHICKEN KEEPERS WARNING

Listen to Jeremy Vine (radio 2) NOW. They will be discussing whether home chicken keepers will put us all at risk from bird flu and should there be a mass culling:eek: It looks like it'll be the chucks that done for us! If there is a mass cull will the price of paxo go sky high? Should I stock up now!

    Afternoon all

Logistical manouvers here this morning with 4 kids arriving at 7am.....6 out the door, 4 dropped at school, 2 home for drinks, another 3 arrived with another childminder, 5 kids 2 adults out for walk, all piled back in, one went home ill, 3 left with 1 adult, 1 finally sleeping. Then it's do it all again at school run time....I love wednesdays...can you tell.

SC has just been loaded with left over veg from sunday, a pack of braising steak and half a bottle of red wine....past caring what it will taste like. BM will go on later.

Just had a letter to say that a concert we'd booked to take DD's to has been cancelled..such a shame but secretly releaved, thats £130 refund to come back. The tickets were part of DD's Xmas pressies from us so will make sure I use some of it over half term for a treat to make up for it.

Been getting on really well with my crocheting, running out of wool now though so will pop into town and trawl the chairty shops to see what I can find later in the week.

Hugs to all those who need them

    :hello: Goooooooood Afternoon :hello:

    Sending sleep inducing calming thoughts to fellow sleep deprived OS'ers:- taplady; SnowyOwl; skystar; PP; catowen;

Good luck to those with health appointments today: wishing and suzy g

To all who are having a bad day ((((hugs))))

:rotfl: @ smokey's postings - you could post those in The Arms, worth sharing :D:D:D:D

I've been paying bills this morning, so that's a weight of my mind. Placed an online order with Tesco's for delivery tomorrow morning - fingers X'd :D Didn't enjoy the experience of online grocery shopping at all! It just didn't *feel* right doing a virtual shop.

Tried to do it the other evening, but got sidetracked (in the most wonderful way). Youngest was up in the night and ended up in my bed (which upset the furbaby, who cried very loudly for what felt likes all night!). So, youngest back at home today, and I resorted to trying Tesco's again. It was dearer to deliver tomorrow than next Tuesday (the cheapest slot) but as my planned shopping trips have been thwarted over the past few days, I felt it was better to be safe then sorry and have it delivered sooner rather than later. Good news side of it, I had a voucher for extra points if I made an online shop ... tapped it in and it's been recorded as extra points + £5 off

Have some veggie soup cooking for lunch/freezer, just waiting for the timer to "ping"

Dinner tonight will be .... er ... something which takes a while to cook on it's own the oven which doesn't involve potatoes because I don't have any until tomorrow.

This afternoon will be medicinal snuggles on the sofa with and for d10yo (and I shall continue reading "I Choose To Live" )

    Take care

    Good Afternoon to all,
I'll have to see if that prog is repeated on the web Math later. I keep a couple of chickens, although they are looking in fine fettle from the window here.
No time for reading and posting here the last few days so am way behind the goings on of OSers.
Queenie, I thought it was such a lovely idea to email your son at school last week. I must find out what DS's school email addy is as I think he would like to hear from home in the school day sometimes.

Kiwichick I wish you luck with the driving. I confess I did not pass until my 6th test as whenever I failed I gave up completely. I am sure the best approach is to just keep at it and not get demoralized by getting things wrong sometimes.

Smokey112 your electirc bill sounds extraordinary! Thought mine was bad as I pay £39 per month. Glad you are onto it now.

Freyaluck, i am sorry to hear about your wait being longer, it must be awful hating where you live. Fingers crossed that list goes down fast.

Froggergirl, I know what you mean about getting out. I found that going to the library was a nice thing to do and also allowing myself a cheap treat but taking ages to shop for it. Otherwise researching buying things but not spending also worked for me. You can also take things to the charity shop as opposed to buying or go to a park. For me it was important to get out when the children were small, breaks up what can be a long day.

Nicki, I hope the builders turn up soon and do what they need to do.

I have been doing some decluttering today and DH is putting some paint on the new plaster. For some reason I am hopelessly inefficient having people around me all day so never seem to get much done. :o

Lunch HM Soup+HM bread, Jacket potato and cheese
Tea Carrot and Apple muffins. From the index, fablicious thx to OP
    Supper Cottage Pie

Must also make a beef stew in SC

Hope all those who had bad nights do better tonight and good luck to woas and suzyg with the hospital appts.

Take care all and have a great day

    Hello everyone

Sorry to hear about all those sleepless nights - hope tonight is better
kiwichick - hope the driving goes well
smokey - thanks for the laugh

Fairly quiet day here - grey outside. DS is breaking the quiet with constant sniffing - he has a cold & is feeling sorry for himself. In fact it's too quiet, he is supposed to be doing piano practice. I have some work to do on the computer, but have been sidetracked by MSE.

lunch: yesterday's meatloaf, slice in sandwiches
    dinner: sausage casserole

    Have a good day

A really bad bad bad start to the day :( I really don't like the postie anymore for bringing such bad news.
As some of you may know We were at the top of the list for a house with the
local housing assciation. Well we are now 6th, It may not seem much , but has left me in tears, I am so desparte to get out of this poxy flat and really thought we would be in the next few weeks, but that has just sodded allour plans, the ********* how can they get are hopes up just to do that. Don't know what I am going to tell our 6 year old when she gets home. thinking we were close to getting a house was the only thing keeping my depression at bay.
I really don't know how I am going to cope having to stay in this place.
any way must go and do a stash and dash b4 my friend turns up, will catch up later if I feel up to it.

    ((((((((((((BIG HUGS))))))))))))

It might not be as bad as it seems hun, so hold on in there. I was in exactly the same position before xmas and had gone down the list too. They told me this can happen for any number of reasons, such as people adding on extra areas who have been on the list longer, or possibly families that have just been made homeless etc, but it doesn't mean you won't get offered a house if a suitable one comes up. I was still 9th on the list when I got the offer out of the blue just before xmas ;)

Take care hun and PM me if you want a chat :)
