    Afternoon all,

Hope those, big and small, who started out not feeling well are feeling a bit better now and hugs to all. icon7.gif

Had a normal sort of morning, got a wash load done, kitchen and bathroom cleaned, huge fight with the vacum cleaner (I hate it, it hates me ).

Having a bit of a break on here then off to do the grocery shopping. Also need to check out some more storage possibilities. Since I have been learning OS I've started nabbing the stuff I use regularly when it is on offer and stockpiling it. Great for long term savings but bit of a problem "tripping over boxes".

I have a couple of disgusting old metal filing cabinets I was going to get rid of but am wondering if I coud spray paint them and put nicer handles on. The draws are really deep, perfect for storing soap powder, loo rolls etc. Any suggestions anyone?

Enjoy the rest of this beautiful day icon7.gif

Do Asda do like Tesco - give you your money back AND the goods? I'd have had 72 cans of coke and £21.54 if so!! Ah well - not my money, but still. Teach me to open mouth without thinking. I'd never have done that if it was 'my' money ;o

No Asda will give you the difference and a £2 gift card and that is it.

    Yours

    Grrr. Men!
The bloke in question is my boss, who promised to call me at 11am to go through a presentation I have to do on Monday. It's now 12.45 & still no call (nor even the aforementioned presentation by email, so I can go through & work it out for myself). In protest I'm going to have a good MSE browse til he calls!
I've got to take OH's car to the garage for an estimate this aft too (Grr No. 2 - he crashed it, so why do I have to do all the donkey work?), so he'd better ring soon or I will have gone out. There's a pile of non DW pans to wash, but you can guarantee the minute I don my rubber gloves & open the fairy liquid the phone will go.......
Hugs to the rest of you with useless men to contend with

Because it's your job!! I have these sorts of conversations with Mr TM too. Of course, I do nothing all day - well, nothing of great importance that is. I have to make all the phone calls, sort everything out, even post all the letters (which REALLY used to annoy me if I wasn't intending to go out that day and had to make a special trip. He, of course, is totally incapable of stopping his car as he passes the 4 post boxes that I know of on his way to work!!

That reminds me - I forgot to take his suit to the cleaners. Guess I'LL have to do it tomorrow.

    Jo - I hope you're taking note here :D

Because it's your job!! I have these sorts of conversations with Mr TM too. Of course, I do nothing all day -

One afternoon a man came home from work to find total mayhem in his
house. His three children were outside, still in their pajamas, playing
in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the
front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door
to the house and there was no sign of the dog.

Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess.
A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one
wall .. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel,
and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.

In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on
the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the
floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was
    spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of
clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she may be ill, or that
    something serious had happened.

He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the
bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and
more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and
toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the
bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and
asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What
    happened here today?"

She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world did I do today?"

    "Yes" was his incredulous reply.

She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it."

In all fairness, this part of your post doesn't have to be exclusively a "Grrr - Men" rant. My boss is female and at least as bad (and sooooo rude to me as well ) the only reason I'm still here is that I've been told on really good authority that she won't be here much longer.

Back to my previous post - boss is in approaching deadline mode at present which means asking me questions and then biting my head off/continually interrupting me when I try to answer. Hence I am really hoping I do NOT have to come into the office tomorrow. Stress turns her into a right b!tch. Like I'm not in a hurry as well.

    Because it's your job!!

Ah, my job! That'll be my second job on top of the one I already get paid to do for 40 hours per week. On top of the washing, ironing, cooking, cleaning, shopping, managing the bank account, organising the bills, booking the holidays & filling up the cars (both of em).

I bet I'm the one who has to organise my life around taking said car in to the garage for the work to be done too.

My DH got hold of a 2 drawer metal filing cabinet years ago, which he sprayed with metallic paint - purple, so now we have a nice shiny filing cabinet ... so I guess what I'm saying is "yes" ! I could do with another filing cabinet, but such finds are not so easy ... so hang on to them!!

Thanks Zed42 I'll hop over to "in my home" to see if they can advise me on the best way of painting them is. (from the look of them, 1st step is going to be a good going over with bicarb and vinegar !!)
