YAY!!!! This was the thai green prawn curry we had for tea. Didnt like it much, put too much lime in I think, but prawns were lovely. Dont look to appetising..LOL.

PP - your curry looks lovely - did you use coconut milk - I found that using double or single cream instead of coconut milk gives the same effect but creamier you still get all the Thai flavours - if you think you put to much lime in then leave it out next time - I don't put lime in ours

Michelle - what a pain about the mortgage statement! I suppose you can't track down a phone no for the Portman? Maybe on their website? (I presume they have one!)
i've tried that - they told me if it wasn't their by the 17th to get back in touch - i thought they were meant to come out in January and i'm getting impatient.

Going mad very slowly. As I was leaving my mums picked up my sunglasses on the way out, got to the car got in the car and have now lost them  They cost me £30 if I don't find them bang goes all my lovely boots points.
When I got home tried looking under the car seats and smacked my head. So now I have headache as well  .
Got my new mobile from amazon for free. I do survey sites and get the vouchers for nothing. And a copy of Martins book. Still have £31 in vouchers to spend and I am struggling on what to get.
And a new orange sim arrived which I popped in my old phone for my mum iof she ever gets around to registering it. yeah right guess what I will do next week for her then.
Better win on the lottery tomorrow

Hi all
I'm getting ready for our little trip up to the Lakes. I've got a chilli in the oven that we'll have tomorrow night. Some friends are joining us for one night (tomorrow) in our cottage, so the plan is fine wine (ok, plonk!), good food (Jamie Oliver recipe chilli con carne) and good conversation (fuelled by booze). All in all, a good night is planned.
Supper tonight will be the curry that we didn't have last night - because OH went via the chippy!
I've been to the library and managed to renew the book that I haven't quite finished reading. It's really rather excellent, but with all the teaching and planning that I've had to do, I just haven't had the chance to finish it.
Ah well, better get on with the preparations for our week away. I'll probably be missing in action for a week, but I'll be back.
Take care all.
Vicky

lol, this reminds me of something mil told me. years ago her gas bills were really high and her neighbour was always boasting about how small hers were, even though she did loads of baking for her daughter to sell in her shop. mil got gas board out and they had wired it up wrong and she was paying for most of next doors gas! they sorted it out but she never got a refund as they claimed they couldn't prove who had used what. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
hi all,
woke with a hangover from hell after staying up late watching stealth & cinderella man on dvd. dp has been having lots of problems with his stomach etc for ages and he is on a waitinglist for a scan. his consultant has asked for him to totally abstain from alcohol for 3 months between blood tests so they can check for any other problems! so i am going to totally give up to for the next 3 months starting on monday to support him. will do us good, should hopefully lose loads of weight and certainly save many pennies.
went to mcdonalds for hangover cure big mac, then to the bank for change for car boot sale tomorrow. dp got a couple of new games from GAME with the money raised from selling other games on amazon, picked up some groceries in aldi.
we have packed the car for car boot, hurrah! - only prob is trying to fit us in - the car is choca block.
dinner think it will be a kebab from the chippie - very naughty (it's ok as we hardly ever get takeaways)
hugs to all
