Hello everyone
Sorry that so many in MSE-land are poorly. There seems to be an awful lot of bugs and nasty viruses going around. Keep warm if you're suffering.
I am soooo happy it's Friday... Work was alright today, yesterday's emergency has been sorted out by management (silly dopes, I sorted it for them last night!). I need to book some time off...:j:j...so think I will tag a day or two onto St Patrick's Day which some organisations in N.Ireland close for, and which mine definitely does.
After work I popped into the local library to check out their history books for my course. What a terrible collection....the library at college is much better but it seems the rest of the class got there before me as the better ones already on loan. I'll have to plan when I get the best books before I am obliged to give them back, to ensure I have them when I actually have free time to study them.
OS has been a very hit and miss affair today - WM is just finishing, will put that on airers in a mo, DW is on. I have been eating v.poorly lately. Today was no better:
B: my usual porridge, raisins, pumpkin seeds + skimmed mixture (v.yum!)
L: packet of crisps, two diet yoghurts and two Apple Bran Muffins (home made ones, though they are quite small)another muffin and a cuppa
Snacks: an Alpen bar from the vending machine (the buttons for Mars bars and Galaxy bars weren't working!!!)
Gotta get myself sorted for sure. Am too fat & too unfit... think it's the fact that I am knackered from college, overtime, plus exams and essays all on top of waking up during the night every night. Meal planning and exercise have gone to pot, but these are the two things that would benefit me most I think, so will have to reassess how I spend my time (ie cut down on MSE humph!)
JW: Give that man of your's the thorough tongue lashing he deserves! Then go get your dad to post you some of the oatcakes you like. They will survive the journey with a bit of bubble wrap or polystyrene around the packet. However I have never known the flavour to fall out of a broken biscuit, so deffo worth the chance!
Cheerio everyone, have a fab weekend.0 -

Hi everyone
My DS was like this after watching a programme about sausages (Should I worry about....). He didn't eat them for about a year and now will only eat the posh ones, not the horrible pink ones!
All in all a good day today. Had to go and buy a present at lunchtime for a party DS is going to tomorrow. Apart from that, just a busy day with my nose to the grindstone at work. Watching the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics at the moment. Quite a spectacle! I wonder how much it costs to put on events like this?
Very cold here today. It was about -5 this morning.
OH has a fell race tomorrow and DS has a party on Saturday and a football match on SUnday. Seems that it is only me with no plans.
Made minestrone soup yesterday in my pressure cooker. It was delish! OH took it for lunch as well today and impressed some of his colleagues. Must do leek & potato soup this weekend and make sure I don't waste the leeks!
Have a good evening everyone!

Morning!
Not a good last night sleep last night-hence the early post LOL. That curry kept repeating and made me feel sick in the end...oh well.
Have a washload going and this will be hung outside to dry as its cold, but there is a nice breeze. There will be another washload to put on after. Toilet has been cleaned. House is all clean and tidy from yesterday.
Today, I have an assessment being done by the Open University. This is to see if they can offer any help to make the course easier for me to do with my disabilities. I struggle to write, although I can type one 2 fingered IYKWIM and am not very mobile. There are a few other problems i have too-but more personal. Dont know what they can offer but will see. On the form it says this can take 3-4hrs:eek: I hope not as Im not feeling great today. Have a few bits of paperwork to find which I need for them.
DD wants to do some baking later, so if up to it, may do some more fork biscuits, sponge cake and some muffins or similar. If not today, tomorrow!
Breakie:Scrambled egg and toast
Lunch:HM Pizza
Dinner: Pie & HM Chips
Will catch up later. Have a great day.

'Morning everyone :hello:
Sorry to hear you are not too good today PP. Hope the meeting with the OU goes well and they are able to make things a little easier for you.
I've had to bring work home to do this afternoon, so all the paperwork will be spread over the kitchen table later. This morning we are shopping, the freezer is nearly empty but we should be able to get another week out of it ... it's meant that our shopping bills have been a lot lower since Christmas and made us use up the bits and pieces that we tend to shove to the back of the trays in favour of something more interesting. Next week we will start re-stocking.
Breakfast: Porridge and sultanas
Lunch: propably scrambled eggs on toast or an omlette
Dinner: Irish stew done in the SC
Tomorrow we are planning a trip to the coast so there may be some muffin making, quiche making etc going on later.
Off to browse the threads now.
Have a lovely OS day everyone :wave:Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Morning PP,apple and all others to follow :hello:
Good night's sleep for a change :j Both boys are now eating their brekkie and I'm sat there with my huge fruit salad and a cuppa.
Today Mr TM wants to visit a particular mill shop he's never been to so he can take the boys and I'll go avec wally trolley into town.Mystery shopping job to do so that will cover travel and parking costs and I need to visit the butchers - I have no uncooked meat left in the freezer and all the cooked meals are thing the others don't like.
Have another freebie dvd to watch tonight - didn't get chance last night and while the others are out, if I get chance, I'll watch some more bits I taped over the last week, before I lose them, forget them or it all gets too confusing (can't afford Sky+ - that would be so much easier)
The usual laundry mountain to deal with over the weekend and our bedroom needs a sort out - it becomes the dumping ground so that other rooms look tidy
Ok, off for a surf. Hope you have a good day and the OU can help you PP
Luv

Morning!
Im off to work shortly and am just looking at the sky through the window - bright pink and red, its really nice! Anyway, did some cleaning last night so all there is to do is the bathroom and a few dishes and change bedsheets when I get home, and a few 'admin' tasks - write a letter or two and post a few bits. Then I can settle down to the weekend of relaxing and cooking! Something chicken for dinner, and soup for lunch. I might try not to go food shopping this weekend and see if we can live off the contents of the fridge/freezer for the week becasue I should get paid next weekend.
Have a lovely day all!

Morning
PP - good luck with the OU people.
Just a very quick post before we set off to the Lake District. The chilli is cooled and waiting to be put in the cool box. I tasted it last night and the kidney beans erm affected me.At least when we're all eating it, it'll affect all of us. Mmmmm. :rotfl:
We can't get into the cottage until 3pm which is when Wales v Scotland starts. OH is keen to get in there asap (he pretends to support Scotland because he lived there for a while) and reckons that our friends will be just as delighted. Now, I LOVE rugby but paint drying? No, it should be quite good.
I'm also looking forward to all that Winter Olympics. I watched some of the opening ceremony last night. Pretty impressive.
Lunch today will be 2 courses for £5 at a restaurant in Ambleside, so £10 for the two of us, plus drinks. Not the cheapest of meals, but we've always ruled out going to this restaurant because it's too expensive even though it looks lovely!
I'll see you all next week.

Morning all,
It is a beautiful morning out there. The house is asleep (DD and DH), most odd.
I am sitting here nursing my hangover and a cup of ginger, honey & orange tea, hoping the former will dissipate quickly.
A bouncy 2yr old and a hangover do not mix ...
So, what are my plans for today ... hmm, I think it is time for a trip to the garden centre to buy some potting compost and some seeds ... and then a messy morning with DD is planned
Going to have fish pie for dinner, now.
Made it before and it is Lush, with a capital "L" ... definitely not the cheapest, but definitely lush! The cod alone cost nearly £10. Ouch.
My ma is babysitting tonight as DH and I have a date! We are going Salsa dancing with some friends, it's going to be a laugh, that is if DH can dance, as he did his back (hips) in at the beginning of the week and has been in pain since.
Swapped my gas/leccy tariff last night to a capped rate .. so, that will probably guarantee no increases for a while, LOL.
B - tea
L - dunno, may be soup related, we do have a ton of it in the freezer, unmarked - so could be either curried parsnip or leek and potato!
D - fish pie ... yum ... did I mention, we're having fish pie!?!
Ciao for nowGC - March 2024 -0 -
Morning Everyone:wave: .
So glad it is now the weekend. Have been woekn 3 tmies in the night by DS screaming in him sleep, so I had a lie in until 7.30am (normally up by 6.45am). I am in the middle of trying to potty train DS (2 and 1/2 yrs) and yesterday, by taking him to the toliet for a wee every half an hour, managed to get a training nappy, to stay dry from 10.30am to 4.30pm. My friend told me it can be hard work doing this, but eventually he should start asking to go to the toliet himself.
Also off to a local jumble sale today. Not been to one of these for years! OH off to the library so I may catch up with him and DS later. Not sure waht we are eating todat, but it might be a "use up whats in the fridge" day.:D . Hope you all have a good day, and enjoy the weekend.
Bye for now ... POwieA woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0
