    Hi everyone,
Just got back from shopping. Went to Lidl in the hope of getting shopping trolley, but no luck. They were giving away free bread, which was in date - tomorrow - so I picked up 2 loaves, and have written "toast" on them & put in freezer. They would probably be ok to eat straight away, but I can't get through that much bread in one go!
Then I went to farmfoods next door, & they had a few bargains too. That is one of those shops which I can go in sometimes & there's just junk food & "rubbish" but then there are days like today when they have some good stuff on offer.
    Have a good day, everyone.

PP - hope the OU thing goes well

    Morning all!

Kittie that sounds like a great idea with the receipts :) I may try that myself.

I had a lovely lie in until 9am and since then it's been all systems go, loads of stuff done and the kids are placing nicely on the playstation. DH has just gone out to get my Morello cherry tree and I am waiting for XDH to turn up with the chainsaw to take the apple tree down. I will be sorry to see it go as it's been here since we moved into the house, but the apples aren't worth eating, and it's taking up the room I need for my greenhouse.

I am waiting for tonight to try out my new sewing machine, I must admit this one seems so simple to use but the lovely guy at the sewing machine shop has promised me a lesson on Monday to sort out anything I don't understand.

So anyone who thinks they can't use a machine, take heart - just try going to a proper sewing machine shop instead of Argos etc and you may just find the owner is happy to give you a lesson. Mine didn't cost anymore than buying one from a multinational company (it was £135) and I know that if I hit any problems there is somewhere to go to ask questions.

Good luck with your assessment - maybe it is a good thing that you are not feeling too good as it will give the person a better idea of how bad things can get for you - please do not "put on a good show".

Dying to ask - what are "fork biscuits?

    Kittie

    Welcome to old style.

Just made kippers on toast for DH and about to go to Lidl for some bits and bobs.

Tea is in the slow cooker - diced chicken, red and green peppers, thinly sliced onions and garlic in 2 cans of chicken soup. Fingers crossed it tastes O.K.

  • Hi everyone and hugs to all who need it or feel like one.

It's raining here and cold so ds1&2 were very cold and muddy when they came in from mini rugby. Piles of rugby kit on the kitchen floor waiting to be washed. DH is at Sainsburys with the cubs doing a bagpack to raise funds for a new mini bus. He finishes at 1.30 which is when ds1 takes over from 1.30-4.30.

Dinner is going to be turkey and red pepper cannelloni - found the last of the Xmas turkey in the freezer and I might do a small steamed pud for afters as it's so cold here.

Rugby will be on here all afternoon  - might get on with some knitting - am doing a slipover for DH using spare wool leftover from one I knitted for FIL Xmas present last year.

  • well our plans went to pot today. dp missed his footing & fell down the stairs this am going to the loo , luckily didn't hurt himself too badly. he hurt his foot, knee and ended up with a headache. so we decided not to go to the car boot and are going to list on ebay etc instead. i told him next time just to say he didn't want to go not throw himself down the stairs lol.

so need to tidy kitchen, living room, do multiple washings. going to make a pot of homemade soup and are going to attempt hm pizzas using the breadmaker.

just a quick question - do you freeze them plain or do you add the toppings and then freeze?

    hugs to all

    Hi all!

Got tummy ache today - we had chicken stir-fry last night with a pack of Asda Smartprice Stirfry veg which was past its use-by date - think it must have started to ferment and then carried on in our digestive systems! I feel "really bloated " like the woman on the probiotic yogurt ad! Kept waking in the night feeling uncomfortable and taking ages to get back to sleep, and had really odd dreams which i thankfully can't remember much about! oh well, it's over now and i've taken a couple of probiotic capsules so should be feeling better by tomorrow. (At least the stir-fry tasted nice!) :D

Having a mammoth washing session today, including re-washing some stuff which was washed ages ago and had been in the washing basket so long that the creases couldn't be ironed out! :p

P-P Hope the assessment goes well and that they are able to help you. I think it's great that you're doing this course - I'm not as ill as you and I know I couldn't guarantee to meet deadlines etc! :)

Elona I love the sound of what you're cooking for tea - will try that myself! (not today tho as have got to make a pie to use the ready - made pastry i bought last week before that's past its use-by date....

Posh Cant help chuckling at the thought of you jumping about trying to avoid all the worms! Hope it wasn't as bad as you feared. :D

Bargain Rzl i'm so glad for you that you didn't have to go into work today! Seems to me you work too hard as it is!

Catznine if you read this - hope you're okay and that the reflexology has helped.
