Apple tree now chopped down and as XDH decided it would be easier to burn the root out we have now disposed of a load of cardboard boxes too, then we started on next doors Leylandii hedge (since the old lady who owned the house died it has gone to monstrous proportions. It is down to 5 foot now and it's amazing how much bigger my garden looks, I can't wait to see it in daylight. We didn't manage to get the greenhouse up but tomorrow is another day :D

managed to do 4 machine loads and dried it in td. cleaned downstairs, went into town and got 2 free valentines gifts from superdrugs with the offer coupon in the sun.

i also sent of for four freebies where you only have to pay postage so am looking forward to getting lavender handcream, body lotion, 4 books and 175 bulbs with feed.

hubby went to work from 10 till 1 and took dd3 with him come back with a free bag of pots, parsnips and sprouts will go with my chicken tomorrow. dd2 has been at zoo all day with scouts 10 till 4.

having a night into night for a change as we have beenout every saturday since xmas day, could have gone out for a valentines meal with my friend and her hubby but as we are hopefully moving house on the 1st april have lots to do and need to save for that.

hubby has been in loft for 2 days, i took a look up there and i reckoned you could open a charity shop quiet easily.

Am now listening to Radio 3 and the weekly opera broadcast - this week "La Traviata" from the Met in New York - just at the start of Act 2 where a young couple are living beyond their means and the woman's selling stuff off all over the place while trying not to let OH notice... just struck me as quite funny, even though it's a tragedy!! :D Yep, there are OPERAS written about savvy female moneysavers... I reckon the heroine would quite enjoy herself on here!

  • Hello,
i was lurking and no one seemed to be up - so i thought i'd be brave and start the thread.

i'm posting on my way to bed rather than getting up - but never mind - I'm trying to hold a torch for the OS single men - we think it all looks ok and no one else is going to see it :) so not too much time spent on cleaning.

I have £35 of M&s vouchers - i went in the M&S food bit in Leeds train station yesterday - i laughed out loud at a lamb meal (for 2) in a tray £11 !! i went crazy and bought a £5 bottle of red - to me it tastes the same as a £3 co op red

so thats me for the day

    cheers

  • morning Graham, sleep well. :D

I woke early this morning and so far have managed to get a load in the wm, just going to have a cup of tea while the water heats for a shower. Ive planned a lazy day with the sunday papers although dss might be coming for tea but he's easily pleased. I think I'll make his favourite, bangers and mash.

'Morning Graham, 'morning Ambergold, 'morning everyone :hello:

I'm a naturally early bird, my body clock doesn't recognise Sunday as a day to lie in.

Yesterday was a busy day. Shopping, washing, doing a report for work, and making up some pheasant in red wine sauce. The latter as a larger batch - one meal to heat up later today and one for the freezer.

We've planned a trip to the coast today and the pheasant is for when we return home (potatoes and veg are all ready too). OH made bread rolls last night (and they were just too tempting last night ... DD and I did a taste test :D).

Breakfast: porridge with sultanas and semi-skimmed milk
Lunch: a picnic (to be eaten in the car) of HM rolls with cheese and HM chutney, fresh fruit and (if I can get my act together this morning) fresh muffins
Dinner: pheasant in red wine sauce

Have a lovely OS day everyone

don't buy the papers - you will hear the news in the next week if it is important - and if not - well who cares :) read a book instead
