Hi all
Took stepson to the station a 7:15 this morning, woo hoo. He's gone back to live with his Mum, I feel sorry for hubby & know I'm being mean, but wa cannot afford to support him. I think when he realised we still expected him to pay his housekeeping even tho he didn't work a full week, he decided to go home. He is 20 years old & if his Mum wants to subsidise him, thats fine, but we can't.
I only have to work 2 mornings next week, so have great plans.
I want to give the house a thourough spring clean ready for my new lodger who's arriving Monday week.
I need to organise my CSA appeal to get my ex of my back, once & for all. No doubt he'll think of another way to cause me problems.
I have a pair of mittens to finish knitting & then will go back to knitting scarves.
I also want to start selling on ebay, I have a few things to sell & hope to make some money towards paying off the huge telephone bill my stepson has left me.
I'm also going to cook loads of meals for the freezer to make things easier in the evenings.
Breakfast was porridge
Lunch poached egg on toast
Tea Steak & chips, I got a little piece of rump steak reduced at Asda's today.
May the finance fairy heap blessings on you all.

Just posting to say good luck PP. The OU are fab at accomodating people with various disabilities from what I read about on the First Class forums.
I haven't started any of my assignment yet.0 -
Afternoon everyone.
I haven'tdone much in the house today. We have been shopping to get some birthday presents for the month, and also did an ASDA run.
I had to have my polite complaining head on. I managed to exchange a book that i was bought two copies of at xmas, and used the refund towards a birthday pressie, and took the two boxes of funny cat food back to ASDA and they quite happily swapped them for us.
The mortgage statement (finally) arrived - yay - and i am really happy as we have took a big chunk off what we owe. Last years was bad as we had only paid the normal payments and no extra, and by the time they had added on interest we had only paid off £900. This time, there is nearly £10,000 paid off the capital _party_ - so the scrimping is worth it. I don't know if we'll keep up this rate though.
tried to pay a cheque that i've been waiting for months for into the bank, and they wouldn't accept is at it was addressed to miss and not mrs. I'm going to have to try it at my bank on Monday, but if it goes back to be re-issued with the right name i may have to go mad at someone. I'm fed up of banks.
The rugby is now on - so i guess DH will be parked in front of the telly for most of the day. i'm going to do some crafting.
tea is chicken curry (defrosting nicely) so no actual cooking for me today :j
Hope the sun is having a good affect on us all

Afternoon All,
A short one from me today, still have the lurgy and feel rotten. Have managed a tesco shop and gave over £3 in coupons so am pleased. DS and DD2 in bed and dh has taken DD1 out for a treat. Didnt tell mw what it was but called me 30 mins ago to say they were watching Chicken Little at cinema. I love that hes taken her for a treat but hes paid full price for tickets (about £12) when on a sat morning they do kids club where tickets are just £1.75 for kids and adult free. Hes also bought pick'n'mix rather than asking me to get something cheap at Tesco  . I am going to try and hang the laundry before collapsing back into bed.
Catch ya all tomorrow,
Al.

D'oh - use up February not going too well. Unfortunately I seem to completely run out of things at different times, so today it was 'hit the butchers'. Got loads of meat ready packed in 1 lb bags so I can stick it in the freezer. Then, because I went to a particular dry cleaners in the asian part of town, I decided to pop into the cash and carry. At least he's ordering me in some 5L tubs of white vinegar and while he'll probably charge me more than his 'local' customers, it's still cheaper than Makro. However, he's going to tell his mum about the vinegar in the wash trick, so you never know - he may like me and charge me less than I expect
I also stocked up on a few spices etc. It makes me laugh when you see what you can buy things for - I've bought 400gms of linseeds for 99p- I've recently bought a box from Tesco for waaay more than that, so am going to compare that they are the same. I've also bought some strange asian veggies that I've never tried before. Will be making a veggie curry soon I expect. I just decided to ask the chap at the till what they were and although he admitted to not being a cook, he explained what things were and even told me what he thought I wouldn't like. So, if you've never been in an asian supermarket, give it a go - they really do have amazing things at such low prices. Anyway - that'll be me making more base sauce tomorrow.
Ok, I've just had a butty and a :coffee: I think Mr TM has given me the dreaded lurgy because in the last 15 minutes, my head has started banging, my eyes hurt and I feel decidedly strange. Must go and sort the kitchen out and get the meat in the freezer. Haven't a clue what I fancy for tea either - lasagne sounds easy.
Ooops - need to see to a dirty nappyI'll give potty training another go soon. Have a nice evening all

Edit - just looked. The linseeds cost me 55p not 99p0 -
Afternoon
Thanks for all the good luck:D
The assessment went really well and have been given tons of extra help to make my studies go as smooth as possible. The 2 assessers were lovely and had done quite alot of research on some of my illnesses-so they knew more than me..LOL. They were here for 2hrs, so went they left I had a quick nap.
Have been invited round BIL's for a curry tonight, but if we do go, it will probably be an eat and run evening IYKWIM, or just be a couple of hrs. They live a couple of mins away, so not much travelling involved. Need to get out, have been in all week apart from hospital appointments for the last 2 weeks:eek: and their good company. I look like death warmed up today, so best put abit of slap on.
2 washloads done today and dried on line. DW not full yet. OH & DD have cleaned out the gerbils.
Got to go and have a bath before deciding on going out or not.
See Ya. Hugs to EVERYONE!!!!

Afternoon all,
Hope you are all having a good day. Not too bad here. WM has been on with school uniforms. DW on and have some leek & potato soup in pressure cooker. Off to lidl to stock up on yoghurts and see if there is any fruit & veg left. Bought a big bag of oranges there last week and they are truly delicious, really sweet and juicy.
OH just back from Parbold Hill race. He did the race but left his off-road shoes at the back door so he had to run in ordinary trainers. Fell over a couple of times but more bruised pride than anything else. He is now in the shower washing a field of mud from his legs!
DS is due back from ice skating at 5pm. I hope he has enjoyed it and comes back without any broken limbs.
In-laws paid a visit this morning. They live over the other side of the pennines but had some business in Manchester so called in on their way back.
B: cereals or toast
L: Pies & pasties from local bakery (paid for by in-laws)Lidl Chicken & Ham pie with mash & veg
S: Breadsticks & dips if kids go to bed early, might have a glass of wine too.
PP - Glad things went well with OU. You deserve a bit of good news.
Jo - Hope you are keeping the boyf busy with your lists! (My ex-OH was like your boyf. He always looked surprised when he discovered something hadn't been done. Best one was when I was late back from work one day and I asked if he had made anything for tea. He replied "I haven't started anything becasue I was too busy waiting for you!" Hmmm...
Have a nice evening everyone!

Hi again,
Glad to hear that your assessment went well PP.
Back from town. 1st load of washing in TD, 2nd in WM. SC in SC (that's sausage casserole in slow cooker!). Load of dishes in sink to be tackled later. All my decent work clothes are at the dry cleaners so I don't know quite what I'm going to wear all next week - LOL! I've had my favourite shoes mended, ordered new glasses and prescription sunglasses, picked up some shower gel (good thing I remembered I'd run out as I was going past Boots!) and got the latest issue of Asda magazine to scour for recipes - so a pretty productive day so far. Haven't done any tidying yet but can do that this evening while listening to the Radio 3 opera broadcast.
Have spent an absolute fortune, most of it on the new glasses, but I do think I got a really good deal (I know you can get glasses really cheap on the internet but I'd much rather have the opportunity to try on unlimited styles and also get the one-on-one advice from the staff - especially because a lot of the frames I decide I like are not suitable because I have a strong prescription). I paid £209 for the main specs, including thin lenses, and an extra £36 to have my free second pair made into prescription sunglasses with scratchproof coating. I wasn't worried about the cost because I do budget monthly for new glasses and haven't had a pair for 4 years!
Must get off here now and stop putting off tidying up
