  • jo is your boyf claming all the benefits he can at the moment. this might help financially until he gets a job. is he claiming jobseekers allowance? i know that you used to have to go every 2 weeks and document what you had been doing to get a job - this might give him some focus.

    good luck

    Morning everyone:wave:

Woke at 4.30 and I've been having a lovely time perusing the threads.

I love Fridays ... it means that it's the weekend tomorrow.

Will be dashing down to make the coucous to put in the pack ups in a moment and it will be something made with chicken thighs for dinner tonight.

Have a lovely OS day everyone :D
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

Bad night for me, but never mind!

WM is on with 1st load, there will be 2 more today as its bedding day-hopefully it will be like yesterday and washing can be hung outside. Toilet cleaned. Cleaner is here today, so nothing else for me to do.

Have another hospital appointment today, so will be up there for an hr or so.

Sorted the bathrom cupboard out yesterday and OH put 3 new shelves in there, have so much stuff its shocking, but at least I wont need to buy anything for at least the next 12-18 months:j

Anyways, got to go as I need a bath and take me meds, will catch up later. Hope everyone is OK.

Morning a_m and PP and everyone else who pops along.

Still have my sickness bug and been up and down for the last few hours so I thought I would just get up and lie on sofa and watch a bit of telly.

Had my HM burgers last night and was very impressed. Will defo try these again. Only thing was I did put just a tad too much chilli powder so a bit hot but still nice.

Plans for today include my usual Friday food shopping trip. Not much on the list this week. Didn't think I could have cut my food shopping any further (normally about £30.00 per week) but due to hubby being out of work have had to cut corners.

Got my annual review for my gas and electricty yesterday. I am £86 in credit and they are reducing my DD from £36.00 pm to £23.50 pm. Quite a saving! My downstairs neighbour jokes that I have wired my heating into his and he is paying my bills!

Don't have anything planned for dinner yet. Not in the mood at the moment to think about eating as even that makes me feel ill!

Dunno if I have taken my moneysaving too far but one of my work colleagues has given me a new nickname......"TIGHT"!! Maybe I should take it as a compliment!

    Have a good day folks.

    Morning all.

OH had fun with the 'free sofa clean' last night. The guy turned up and started muttering about a carpet clean. After he was told that the carpets didn't need doing, and that we wanted a sofa cleaning....and that it was a leather sofa .... the guy started uming and aring. A phone call later and off he dashed somewhere else. He only stuck around for 10 mins. OH thought it was very funny.

For tea tonight OH is going to cook spag bol or at least I'm going to leave the receipe out for him anyway. What the results will be ..... who knows.

    Morning!

Been up since early hours... fell asleep yesterday evening so had a decent sleep. Am dying of sore throat/ear/chest.. think i have a bad infection :(

Have so far thouroughly cleaned the kithcen and washed every dish in the house!! (Found 6 mugs, 2 bowls, 2 forks and 1 glass all hidden under the sofa in the front room! :o:o) Whilst doing that i roasted some chicken thighs i got out last night to make fajitas with but didnt get round too due to sleeping! Will use the meat to make butties....really was nearly sick preparing them though as the bones where basically just blood and icky.. could tell was really poorly looked after chicken.. even though it was Tesco "Grade A" then a loose verterbra bone (again all blood stained) fell out when picked a piece up so i nearly vomitted! :o But i soldiered on as didnt wanna waste £3 worth of meat!!

Need to do lots of odd jobs today like tidy up and go the bank etc...wanna be back ontop of everything before monday morning as i have fell so far behind lately with housework etc and keeping on the OS bandwagon so want a fresh start on monday :D

Anyway have a nice day everyone xxx

    Morning!

Had a fairly decent nights sleep but woke up this morning to find that boyf left the heating on all night - what an idiot. Ill tell him that he is paying the bills in future, see how he likes that.

Ive come to the conclusion that the only way to deal with him now is to just make him do stuff, I told him last night that he has to find his cv today and give it a polish as he needs to go to the agencies on Monday afternoon, and then whilst he is there he can pick me up from work. In future im just going to tell him what he will be doing as opposed to asking. I hate that it is coming to this (I feel like a nagging fishwife who has a son instead of a man) but nothing else works. I was met with no disapproval so I guess this might be a strategy that works. I wonder if he truly just doesnt know how to be an adult and needs to be constantly told what to do.

Ill leave him another list I think! Dinner last night was Lush - tuna steak is so easy and so nice, boyf was thinking that he wouldnt like the rice and tuna and seaweed but he absolutely loved it! Im pleased - it means I can cook what I want without listening to any objections because he will probably like it anyway!

Hopefully today will be another great day at work - im working tomorrow but its a short day so its not too bad! Ill leave the cleaning to boyf I think! HM soup for lunch and possibly chicken or salmon for dinner, im undecided as yet!

Hope you all have a good day!

JW - I am not exactly wise in the realm of relationships having been chronically single for a long time...but I get the impression that perhaps you need to tell your bf how you feel, especially the bit about how sometimes you wish you could just chuck him out. He's been less than useful to you for quite some time now. While you may remind him (and he ignores) what practical things he needs to do, the effect on your emotions is very significant. I apologise if I am speaking out of turn but from the outside he seems to have regressed to behaving like a child rather than an adult. He needs a good boot up the bum to get him into adulthood. Explaining to him what he is doing to you emotionally perhaps may help him understand that his childlike reliance on you to feed him, house him and look after him is unacceptable. Apologies again if I am poking my nose in where it's not wanted.

No apology necessary! Im going to takle him this weekend as im not putting up with it anymore! Thanks for the ideas of what to say - I appreciate the support.

  • Jo, just quickly because I need to be getting DS ready for school - but reading your post above, one thing stood out to me, which is that your BF is allowing you to take on the role of Mother. Hence, you need to think about whether you want a son or a BF, because it seems to me that he's going to be very happy to abdicate all responsibility and allow you to take it on instead. That doesn't sound healthy for you, from where I'm sitting! Big hugs go out to you - I have been in a very similar situation in the past, and its not easy.
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:
