Afternoon everyone
Moggins-been there, done that, almost just did it again! Dd being a pain in the behind today.
Just taken them all for a muddy walk in the woods.Ds1 says he has to have a walk every day for his health(bless).Good for my health as I get less exercise when they're off school-no school run to do.
Been busy in the kitchen this morning.Made a batch of cinnamon rolls,a batch of corn bread, turned last night's leftover bean thing into soup for lunch(with the cornbread) and cooked some haddock ready for making fishcakes for tea.I shall serve these with a rasher of bacon each as the thriftlings are not big on fish and bacon goes so well with fish.
Thriftlings all out in the front having a penalty shoot-out apparently. They're all highly excited by the police activity we've just encountered on our walk.
We met 3 coppers who were looking for someone wearing shorts and with bare feet, had we seen them? No,bit muddy for bare feet I thoughtAnyway there's now a police helicopter circling the area.
Am looking forward to next week, back to school they go-hooray.When I was teaching (before I had kids) I used to love the holidays, now I prefer term -time.
Not sure how I'd feel if I was teaching now-probably hate both :rotfl:0 -
Hello everyone - nearly at the endof my first week doing OS and I have really enjoyed it, even though DD2 (15) nearly had a fit when she saw that I had been to Aldi for the shopping (its very uncool apparantly, so I wonder what she'll think when I get my wally trolley...) I gave them Aldi Pizza for tea last night with JP and home made coleslaw and I have to say that the pizza was one of the nicest I have ever tasted and the home made coleslaw went down a treat.
I see that alot of you have breadmakers. I have a very old breadmaker which only makes really small loaves and they were also a bit like bricks. Anyone got any tips? Also what is the best BM to get as I think I definitely need to get a new one if I am to start making my own bread. Is it cheaper than shop stuff or just nicer?
manicdays - my daughter often refuses to poo, so much so that she had to go to hospital, and now has to attend the clinic there every 6 weeks because she really doesn't like to go. They told me that one of the best "natural" ways to help relieve constipation is to get a large box or one of those kiddie step stools and when child sits on the loo get them to put their feet on the stool. I do this with DD1 now and it really helps - they can't hold on or clench their buttocks so the poo is easier to do. DD1 is out on a sleepover tonight so must me and DD2 who is 8 here for tea which will be lasagne and JP with salad.
Hope everyone is having a nice day!Jane

Haven't really achieved much today....been to busy sitting on laptop (not literally) :rotfl:
Will probably do ironing tomorrow now, but will put another load in WM in a sec. Ran my bath a couple of hours ago but haven't had it yet so will go and do that after WM...good job the bath is made out of cast iron so keeps hot for ages.
Munch is sat transfixed by pingu, haven't been for our walk but did play in the garden briefly while hanging out washing its quite cold today.
Have done my meal planner for next week and placed my online order to be delivered first thing on Monday an extra 1000 points as well...well pleased
Local free paper has just been delivered but the lad that brings them chucks them in the shared alleyway instead of through the door, so I asked him if he could put them through the door please and he said he was told not to do that after some guy tried to grab him a few weeks ago...its a sick world!!! Told him not to worry then, wasn't quite sure whether to believe him at first but he seemed like a nice enough lad so it probably was true, he said he would put them through but I felt bad so said ok but if he has any problems like that again not to worry and to just dump them in alleyway....poor kid
Right I'm going to have my bath before DH gets home. Have a good evening everyone.Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
We've just sampled DH's first ever go at a h/m lasagne and I can safely say that its the best lasagne that I have ever had. :T
Probably cost about a fiver all in - and we're all full to bursting, with the same amount left for tomorrow night's dinner! :heartpuls
This, of course, means that tomorrow's Bockwurst with potato salad is moved on to Monday night (skipping the Sunday roast chicken), and we go into next week with Mackerel fillets and a bonus packet of meatballs (which were on special offer somewhere and were too reasonable to leave) all ready to be included in the menu planner. Two less meals to afford next week! :j
I've also discovered, today, that Morrisons Petrol Stations have free air machines. Got the front tyres pumped up, but the caps wouldn't come off the rear tyres, so will have to get OH to give them some serious, for me!
Was able to nip into the supermarket while OH and DS were swimming - which is a good thing, because I can come out with exactly what I went in for. The boys, however, would have cost me an additional £5 or £6 in impulse buys.
Paid another £10 off the Electricity debt .. I shall have to check where we're up to with that one. I know it wasn't all that bad in the first place, so I'd hate to be paying myself into credit with them! :rotfl:
Sent a couple of vouchers off to my parents to use. Waste not, want not! They think its hysterical when a little dogeared envelope arrives, quite obviously from me, containing a bevy of vouchers. They always use them - especially if by doing so they gain me some extra nectar points, bless 'em! More often than not, they wind up using them on something which they then put aside to give to us when they see us next. Not quite what I had in mind - but if it makes them happy!
Started my £2 coin saving collection today. ~rubs hands in glee~:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Evening!
Went out for a drink after work with a few people and it was quite fun, I got home to find my food processor delivered (supersaver free delivery but got it when I only paid for it wednesday night!) and boyf out at work. The processor is currently in bits on the floor as im not entirely sure how it fits together and there is so many bits - im scared! Im feeling a little tired but I need to make dinner, so I might just make it slowly and relax!
Had a great day at work - we have had some new responsibilities that we were invited to apply for and I got the one I wanted, so now I have lots more work but it will serve the long term aim and now need to brainstorm, so may lay on the sofa this evening reading some literature to increase my knowledge as it is an area of work I currently know nothing about but want to do.
Anyway - off to make ribs and rice!

Found out a very astonishing and amazing fact this evening....my whites/towels laundry basket actually has a bottom!!! and I've reached it!!! :j :rotfl:

Hello everyone,
I've had a frugal shop at Tesco for the next few days - very OS. Going to make a batch of plain scones, a batch of cheese scones and some soup tomorrow, then on Sunday will batch cook chilli and make roast chicken, chicken and sweetcorn soup and chicken stock. My frugal shop cost me £12.12 and the only naughty thing I bought was a jar of chocolate spread (a good achievement, believe you me!)
Cleaning tomorrow, using OS tips. Very impressed with the white vinegar as fabric conditioner treat - its great!
Have a lovely weekend everyone,

Yesterday we went to the flicks and saw March of the Penguins but didnt go to TGI's as I wasnt feeling well enough, so filled car with cheap petrol from Tesco, popped in there for a few bits then came home. We are supposed to be visiting family today but am unsure whats happening yet as Im still feeling rough and so is DD. They are going to an animal park and is freezing today, also dont know if its wheelchair friendly?
Need to sort about 10 ebay parcels for monday and make a couple of quiches with all the bits in the fridge that need using up. May make some fork biscuits at the same time as they are cheap, taste devine, very easy to make and can put in DD's lunch box next week. Also, need to put some stuff on ebay, I have so many tops I need to sort through as there too bog for me now, many with labels still on them.
Am looking for a decent pan set if anyone can help? I have AWT set which I bought 2 years ago and they are cr*p! Cooking all the time seems to hammer them LOL....well thats good I suppose..LOL.
