  • DD (7) has started this new phase of making her own breakfast (which is fantastic - and no spills yet!!)
My DS is also 7 and has started making his own toast. I swear, I have to tie my hands behind my back to not help him with the spreading!! :rotfl: He's getting used to toast with lumps of this and that on top. :D
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

Good morning everyone. Freezing cold in my oS house at the moment! I will light a couple of fires later seeing as i have loads of wood in the cellar. Not a very moneysaving day as we are off to the jewellers to fetch our rings (platinum - eek!) Found it was cheaper to get a local jeweller to make them than to buy them from a high-street jeweller, so essentially OS at heart! OH is taking the boys off to get a pair of new chickens, so I can have a bit of 'me time' been full on full time kids - all 3 - with me all week and Im shattered. The garden is tidied and fenced off bits to try and actually grow something the hens don't eat this time round!
Will go into sainsburys after i have been to the gym and see whats in the reduced section:) then off for my regular saturday market shop. Dont know whats for tea yet as I usually plan for saturday 'whatever's on offer' the market has great bargains like fresh fish, once I got 2 crabs for £1.80! Have to get meat out of the freezer but i havent decided what I feel like tomorrow.
Hope the sun is shining where you are too;)

    Morning all

    FF that's lovely news

TM I remember that day well, in fact some mornings I still wake up with that feeling and DD1 is now 21 :D

I was planning on going out and digging the garden today and trying to get the remains of the tree root out. Plans all gone down the drain as the computer shop has phoned to say that our new computer is ready. DH has paid for it over the phone and I have to drive over to pick it up :( 9 miles with DD in the back of the car, oh what joy :(

    Morning all,

So pleased FF that mum and baby are home......lovely sunny morning but boy is it cold!!!!!!!!!!!!OH gone to the allotment, what for heaven knows, but he is happy and getting some colour back in his cheeks at long last.

I managed to get the quilt I am making put together yesterday, have to put the borders on and actually quilt it now, have just 7 weeks to get it done, friends(the quilt is for their new bedroom) have offered us their gite for a week, I found cheap flights to the nearest airport, so the cash I got from e bay has gone........we are now on a major save as OH wants to make one last trip to the US to see my penpal (now email pal) who we have not seen for 8 years, they have a house in Florida and go there for the worst months of the winter, so next Jan/Feb MIGHT be winging our way over there, would like to have a few days in New York if we can manage it.

I am going to have to be very OS if these plans are to happen........ especially with the gas and leccy going up etc.....glad we switched to a cheaper provider just before Christmas.

Nothing really planned for today except cutting the border strips for the quilt, cleaned the bathroom when I got out of the shower, need to put the cleaner on the kitchen floor, and clean down the work surfaces so thats this morning taken care of......

FF. Fab news, I'm getting seriously broody again, not a good thing as it took us 5 years to have DD
TM: I certainly remember that feeling and 14 months later I still have moments of what now.

Had a rather bad day yesterday, as dd feet have grown in the last week and I couldnt get her shoes on, then I went into town to do some bits and the wheel fell off the buggy so that going to need replacing that will teach me to buy a cheap mothercare one and if that wasnt enough I discovered that 2 of her nappy wrap have gone knackered. So all in all its going to cost over £100.

Not much on today. Going to mothercare to the clarks concession to get new shoes and while I'm there I will have a look at the maclaren buggies. If I see one I like I'll order it from kiddicare when I get home.

Apart from that I need to make some pizza dough and do a couple of loads of washing .

    have a good day everyone

FF - so glad to hear your new nephew is well & mum & baby are now home. We've all been thinking about them.
New babies are just wonderful, when I see my great galumphers now, more than 20 years later I can hardly believe they were so tiny & helpless.
I'm now waiting for grandchildren but no one is showing any signs of being in a hurry. :(
  • Morning :D :hello:

So much for being up and about before 9 - I didn't wake up until 9:30 and that was only cos I needed the loo! TBH if I'd woken at an earlier but still civilised hour, say 8 o'clock, I'd probably have just gone to the loo and then gone back to bed - in fact I probably would still be asleep now :o

    REALLY needed the sleep though.

Haven't got around to getting dressed yet and am MSEing from laptop in bed (deffo the best thing about laptops!) while listening to Radio 3. Shamed into getting at least SOMETHING domestic done prior to coming onto OS, I've sorted out the dirty laundry and the first load of 3 is now in the WM. Have also had a cuppa and put the first instalment of a job lot of washing up to soak in the sink (mainly last week's lunchboxes - can never be bothered to wash them up as I use them so I just rinse them out at work then wash 'em all up in one go at the weekend).

To Do List for today is as follows:
    1. Get out of bed!
    2. Finish washing up
    3. Go out to take shoes to cobblers (2 pairs), pick up all my work jackets from the dry cleaners, and pick up a lottery ticket and a copy of the Times
    4. Cook up all the cheapo reduced fresh pasta I've accumulated from trips to the Co-op this week (total cost £3 for six packs of pasta which will make nine meals!), mix it up with pesto and divide into my lunchboxes once they're washed up! One portion of this will be my lunch.
    5. Do rest of laundry
    6. Do a "review" of stuff in the fridge that's now inedible (I tend to save the excess liquid from SC casseroles intending to make soup or use as the base for something else, but never do :o)
    7. Do as much tidying up as I have time for
    8. Go to a concert in town

FF - that's terrific news about the baby.

Posh & Dobie - what lovely dogs! I will have to post a pic of my mum's beautiful dog Pippin when I have one to hand. She's a German Shepherd crossed with something much smaller. Imagine a German Shepherd scaled down to about half the size, except her ears which are full German Shepherd size! She's my brother's dog really, but lives with mum as brother is at uni.

Sarah & PP - do get warm, being warm is important!

Anyway it's 11am now and I'm not getting anything done by yakking on here, so must go. Will try to pop back later
