Afternoon all
Library and tesco's this morning, supposed to be going to a friends this afternoon but during lunch I managed to break a tooth!!!! It's one that's been dodgy for a while (I hate dentists so have put off going) and it finaly broke in two....it's not to painful but really didn't fancy going out incase it got sore. I'll have to find a dentist to take pity on me on monday morning.....more expense!!! Instead I've done the ironing, accompanied by Pride and Predjudice.....made it all a bit more bearable.
DH has cleaned out the fish tank which leaves us free for a few hours tomorrow.
Brekkie - Toast
Lunch - Tukey filled rolls
Dinner - Chilli and spicy wedges for DH and me, Quesaladas for DD's
Hope you're all having a great weekend."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I have just started a week off work and really looking forward to be able to do an OS week.
Made a good start today. I went to the Boot sale first thing. I got a lovely quality m&s suit for £5 for an interview on Monday. Really pleased as not only did I love the colour but my size and petite fitting (I am a shortie). Also got cat carrier for new kitten for £2.50 and a new and wrapped dressing gown for £2.
Went to weight watchers for first time (not doing enough healthy OS cooking). Came home made soup and a vegetable potato bake. Went for a long walk and just come back to a lovely smell from the kitchen.0 -
Hi, it's me back again like I got nuffin better to do LOL.
Just took mini MATHLETT up to a little park nearby cos they have had two persicope thingies installed so you can shout messages down them and the person on the other side can hear them. That's the other side of the park I mean, we we're not trying to contact the dead:eek: LOL Spent a pleasant few minutes shouting 'hey! fat bum, why's ya belly like a drum?' to my five year old and he replying with 'spent all day doing ya hair and then come out without it again av ya' ahhh the child parent bondHe's now in the bath having a little splash 'n' wah time. More splash than wash I'm guessing at.
TM Cancel the sky and get a freeview box for £25 and to heck with it. Shouting and slaming doors can be as loud as ya like after the event it don't change diddly squat. Nip any complaints in the bud with the no-nonsense retort "am a bovvered? - am a bog roll". If you miss it too much you can always watch through Rumbalows window...er....I think they may have closed down actually - but ya get me drift. LOL
PP I run on nervous energy most of the time it certainly ain't calorific energy on this diet LOL. I hope yall noticing my weights dropping faster than interest in Chatall and Prestons love life!
I'm in one of those moods that my Mother describes as "He would bite his own bum if he could reach it" and have been for a few weeks....I wonder why no-one was at home when I got back:rolleyes: LOL
Gotta go and rescue my bathroom floor. I've not seen so much wet slate since I was last down a welsh mine on a school trip circa 1974.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -

Hello everyone
Firstly...congratulations to stressedoutmumof1 on your newly acquired ex/non-smoker status. That is fabulous news and is definitely the single most important thing you can do for your health and wealth. What MATH says is wise too, I can vouch for it being true. I don't mean to rain on your parade though - it's definitely one day at a time. Just resist resist resist...you know you want to. While I was on 20+ a day for about 15 years I got over the cravings, and have been "clean" for about five years now. I do still get the occasional craving, but cravings do lessen dramatically in number and in duration the longer you are off the cancer sticks. In the early days it's worth reminding yourself that when a craving arrives it's temporary and it will go away. Some people find it useful to sniff something with a strong smell, apparently this is aversion therapy. Or go and tidy out a chest of drawers! Keeping your hands and your mind busy works wonders. Good luck, stick at it as it is truly worth it.
I've been rather busy all week hence so few posts - college Monday and Wednesday evenings, and overtime on Thursday. Last night was spent in a semi-vegative state trying to study but getting nowhere as I was so blumming tired.
My little Walkers pedometer seems to have given up the ghost. I'd been wearing it faithfully all week but my daily steps have decreased every day even though I know I've moved about the same every day. Think I will have to go and buy a good quality one somewhere, but must wait until payday as I am sorta skint. I am still recovering from the January sales, buying heating oil and paying for car insurance...budget, what budget? I am not a good MSE person at all, and seem to have got stuck on Old Style while I need to venture onto other boards to sort out credit cards and a proper budget.
Today I've been to the recycling centre with lots of old vinegar bottles and what have you. My cats are now on dried food only - the amount of tins I was recycling was disgraceful when I fed wet food. Now the burden on my pocket is much less, the burden on the environment has almost disappeared, and the cats are so fit and healthy. In the longer term they will have lovely teeth all their lives - my previous cats' teeth were horrible, and all because of disgusting tinned cat food.
I've got two loads of washing already done - lots of underwear, some bed clothes, and tea and hand towels. I've got more yet to do. Where does all this washing come from? It's only me, myself and I in this house (other than two kitties) yet I run the washing machine about four or five times a week.
Pooky...I sympathsize with your broken tooth. I went through a phase of extreme jaw clenching and teeth grinding (stress/depression induced) and managed to break four teeth in the process. I hope you get yours fixed as painlessly and as economically as possible.
I'm going out for a nice walk in a minute, then later today I will be doing household admin (have to get lots of filing done and deal with miscellaneous papers which have been floating around since I moved in), do a spot of tidying up, dusting and floor washing, and then do a bit of reading for my course. What a lovely way to spend a Saturday evening, though I do enjoy the peace and quiet.
Cheerio all, see you tomorrow.

Hi
Decided upon a HM chicken curry we had in the freezer with a jacket spud and treated DD to a 2 piece chicken meal at £2.99.
Also, went onto pigsback to do me clicks and had a bonus of 2000 points added, so had £23.50 in pointsso have cashed £20 to John Lewis vouchers, as im saving for some gorgeous pans which are £140:eek: but guarenteed for 25yrs. Dont know where these points came from LOL, but am not complaining.
Chicken out for dinner tomorrow and am thinking of cooking a few sausages to pad the chicken out a bit as its only a medium size one and will do extra roasties.

Me again
Well, got everything done and all in the nick of time - with a bit of good old-fashioned personal servicec thrown in! The last of my three loads of washing is now in the TD (yeah I know but the house gets condensation and have you SEEN what the weather's doing?) and I've made up all that cheapie filled pasta into esay microwavable lunches for next week at work. (It only made six portions in the end, not nine, but it was still excellent value).
Braved the rain to take 2 pairs of shoes to the menders (it was nearly closing time so I'll be picking them up next week) and to go to the dry cleaners to pick up a large batch of work clothes. Looking at the weather and the fact that I was on foot, the shop lady took pity on me and said my house was on her way home and she'd drop all my stuff off in her car once the shop closed! She just came round with it five minutes ago :A
Congrats SOMo1 on quitting smoking! Hope you don't find it terribly difficult.
Now, must brave the rain again as I'm off to catch the train - going to a concert.
