Good evening all
This morning we went to get some fence panels & fence posts etc for my mum's garden. The neighbour at the end of her garden has built a kind of lean-to thing on the side of his house, & attached it to the fence, with bolts & screws sticking out on her side if you see what I mean. Also he put scruffy bits of plastic sticking out all over the place. Mum tried to find out if the fence was hers or theirs, but apparently the deeds don't say - so it belongs to them jointly. So my DH is going to put up another fence on mum's side to cover up the neighbour's disgusting DIY. The neighbours are not unpleasant - just a bit odd. When we were children, their kids were always nosing through the fence to see what we were doing. Any photos we have of our garden from those days, always has two shadowy figures peeping through the fence at the end of the garden!!!! They can't have had any imagination or ideas of what to do for themselves.
Apart from getting the fence stuff, I have done some housework & also tried sorting through paperwork. Why does paperwork multiply if left to its own devices for a couple of weeks?
Only thing was, I didn't do any washing - and it has been the most gloriously sunny day, and the weather forecast for next week is not very good at all.0 -
You're gonna have to widen the doors at Chez MATH. You may be mistaken for a stick-thin super-model at the mo, but your head will smack on those architravings before long :rotfl:
EDIT: WAAAAYYYY-HAAAAAY - my 3000th post!
Who says I am a gas bag? :rotfl:
Mind you - who's gonna notice as it's gone 10pm on Saturday night

Glorious sunny day here too ... perfect drying weather ... except for the fact that it looks like it has been snowing .... trees being cut down and sawdust everywhere.
My dd was most excited when she thought it was snow!!! LOL!GC - March 2024 -0 -

Ticklemouse congratulations on your 3000th post!!! I had to double check the time though didn't realise it was gone 10pm
Put munch to bed a couple of hours ago bless her shes so snotty, DH is gigging for a change...not! he left at 10am and wont be back till early hours tomorrow morning, so I've had the house to myself last couple of hours, so had a very hot bath with candles
Well this has been my first week OS and I think I've done quite well especially considering what a lazy bones I tend to be, I've always suffered from low self motivation (stuff to do with abuse as a child long story, from reading get to know thread I think PP will understand what I mean) this section of the site has really helped me to pull my finger out when it comes to housework.
Anyways I've done very well laundry baskets almost empty, kitchen tidy, really focused on cutting down waste on everything so things are looking very positive in the mossy household.
Well I best go, going to have an early (ish) night, I try very hard not to turn my computer on on a Sunday (to much temptation to end up doing work tut tut and end up not relaxing (although my first every lot of ebay items finish tomorrow evening so I'll be checking on them obviously  ). Have a lovely day tomorrow everyone.Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
I don't often get to start these threads off, I'm usually in my pit at midnight and not up again till 7 ish.
Today is different, I've just seen off my 19 year old d/d off to New York for the week, it's college trip so she will be doing lots of sensible art gallery and museum visits - yeah, very likely :rotfl: We've both really got under her skin the last few days with 'have you got?...have you remembered?...did you pack?...so much so that all I had to do was look at her and she'd say, Mum SHUT UP!!! it's really scary when you think of all the hazards so I'll be glad when she's back home again. At what age exactly do you stop worrying about them?
There are compensations to being just the 2 of us in the house though,
we can have roast lamb for dinner tonight - she hates it,
we can get to bed at a decent time,
I get to look after her cat because he'll mope around the house looking for her, this is him
there will be whole days where we aren't driving to the station/town/bus station to pick her up/drop her off
wet towels will be put back in the bathroom etc
probably more that I haven't even thought about yet.....
Anyway off to peeps now...night all.
This isn't one of our cats but I just had to share this picture, look at that smile, isn't he just gorgeous?0 -
'morning Apprentice Tycoon
No ... you never stop worrying about them ... but I know what you mean about the compensations ... we too get to look after her pet (rat), don't have towels to pick up and have a lot less washing up to do (we still have youngest at home prior to going to Uni). But, my isn't the house strange without them ... no more thudding down the stairs (she is several stones less than each of us but makes twice the noise), no DD using OH as a leaning post as she watches TV, no cheeky (funny and quick witted) comments to her Dad etc.
Don't worry she'll be back soon with a case full of washing and strange gifts from afar.
We went to the farmers market yesterday and the haul included ... a quarter of a lamb, pack of bacon, pack of pigs liver, 3 packs of sausages and a rack of ribs.
Today it is Costco and we plan to get olive oil, toilet rolls, sugar, etc etc etc. The list is long. The shop usually lasts us 4 or 5 months.
Have a lovely OS day everyone :hello:
PS ... love the cats!Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Yeah, ditto looks like the oringinal cat that got the [homemade?] cream.0

Slept well last night, but still a little feverish and every part of me hurts today-i think just a bad lupus/fms flare up....never mind!
WM is on and will be dried on airer-havent used my TD for 7 weeks now. DW half full. Chicken defrosted for dinner later. Toilet cleaned. Beds airing. Everything is clean and tidy from friday and will (OH if still not too good) just give the kitchen a quick lick and floor a sweep later before nephew and fiance comes. Have part made a trifle, just need to add the blamange, dream topping and may grate some chocolate on top for decor.
Just about to start writing out some ebay auctions as I sorted through my tops yesterday and have about 30:eek: some still tagged that are no longer useable. Ive done well the last 2 weeks and have made about £120:j
DD is playing on her nintendo DS and OH is doing some reading for his OU course-he has an 2 exams on wednesday:cool: so pretty quiet here ATM.
Anyways, Im off to do some auctions and have a bath after.
