  • morning all.

It's been a bit grrrr up to now. One of my kittens has been really naughty. I let him out first thing, and he was having a good run around as usual, so i decided to wash up. Next thing i knew, he was digging up the garlic i had planted yesterday. I got him out, but he went back to it several times, so i ended up having to go outside in pjs to go and repot it and get the mud off him.

I then had to empty the sink and wash up my really muddy hands, and refill the sink to try and wash up again, and the little monkey jumped on my shoulder and just hung there, which really hurt -and made me cry.

He also keeps jumping on his brother and really ragging him about, so i think i need to organise the snip for them really soon to calm them down, or it might be the sausage meat factory.

so i'm now on strike. I'm still sat here in pjs. DH has just made me a lovely bacon butty, and i might stay here all day.

hope the rest of you have an enjoyable day - its really cold here, so i think i'm just going to make the most of a lazy opportunity.

    Morning all,

Went to bed early, woke at 4, took some painkillers for my enflamed tonsils, back to sleep until 7, swapped beds, dd woke up and went in to our bed, let DH do the morning routine thing, crawled out of "my" pit at 09:20 .... bliss!!

Tonsils feeling better than yesterday, so going to ensure I keep up with the regular doses of painkillers. DH is away tomorrow until Thursday (France again), so I'm expecting disturbed nights from DD.

Todays plans: Carry on watching Hollyoaks whilst DD and DH are out (tip run)... I never get to do this anymore, so I'm doing it today!! Mind you, I haven't a clue who any of them are, but hey!

Kiwichick - DH always uses muffin tins to make the Yorkshire puds, and they always turn out deliciously!

    LadyGray - Welcome!

After Hollyoaks, I am going to attempt to make a Lemon Meringue pie ... never made one before, and both my ma and MIL have that as their signature pud ..... oh heck! It's bound to be a disaster, so any tips most welcomed!

    WM on
    DW not full
No point in dusting the house ... DH doing immense dust creating renovating.

Then, a chicken casserole, in the oven I think, rather than the SC, just cos.

Apart from that - general childcare and let DH get on with plastering the dining room ceiling, which is proving tricky! He is having to use lime plaster and this is the first time he's done a ceiling .... more lands on him than the ceiling .. but he will get there, he always does!

Doing a roast for the first time today, I forgot to buy yorkshire pans though as wanted to make them myself. Can I do them in muffin tins or are they just too deep??

I make my individual yorkies in a muffin tin and they come out lovely. Just remember not to have the shelf too high in the oven though or they'll stick to the roof when they rise :rotfl:

    WElcome to all the newbies.

Had a lovely day out at avebury yesturday, we took my little sister, it was her 1st time and she had a great time, which was good as my dd6yo usually grumbles all the way round, but she was left with nana. WE also walked up to westkennet long barrow, that was really good, have never been up their before. Next time I visit avebury, I plan to go up to windmill hill as well- this is where the very first settlement was. We took our own lunch so quite o/s except for a visit to the museum £10.50 for a family ticket.

Not much planned for today dp is at footie, I am very tempted to leave the kids with him and go for a jacuzzi and steam at the local leisure centre this afternoon. not very os i know, but would really love some me time.
Still need to get the washing up done, have done very little this morning as baby is being a clingy monkey.
babies first 2 teeth came trough on wednesday, so imagine some more will be showing over the next week and that uis probably why he is being such a monkey. He is sat on my lap as I type talking away as only a baby can.

DD6yo only got uo 1/2 an hour ago- dp and her wnet out last night to a friends for poker, although dd doesn't play just keeps our friends little boy amused. They didn't get back until gone 12  I was fast asllep by this time.

Well must go and get some lunch on the go sarnies for the kids and I and mashed potato and yam for baby- hopefully he will sit in hes high chair while I get it all done.

    Hugs to all

    Hi Folks,

Hugs to all those under the weather especially FF..... hope you get to see the baby...

Have been up for a while, I needed to go and get wadding for my quilt and one or two other bits.

When I switched on the computer this morning it churned out all these failed delivery notices, all 158 of them, none of which I recognised, got rid of them and did a virus check, but it found nothing........ not sure whats going on....

Dull wet nasty day today, hope its better next weekend.

Left over pizza for lunch baked gammon joint for supper with roasties veg and parsley sauce...... treacle pudd for dessert (Ithink)

OH has just shouted lunch is ready so I am off to eat, have a good day.............

    Afternoon everyone!

Hope all is well wherever you are. Welcome to all the new moneysavers out there. Hugs to those not feeling too well. A beautiful crisp sunny day here in Lancashire. Clear as well so you can see the hills.

I was up with the OS larks this morning and went out for a lovely long run with some friends. We don't run very fast so we can have a natter at the same time. It makes the miles go a bit quicker. Am now home and bathed and squeaky clean and smelling much sweeter than when I came in through the door! :o

I have just listed some things on ebay, with a few more to do when I can find some more batteries for the camera. They just chew batteries up and spit them out don't they?

OH has also suggested (very strongly suggested) that we have a de-cluttering session in chickadee-ville today, The side of my bed looks like a library at the moment with cookery books, life-coaching books, novels, etc. I suppose he has a point!

    Today's jobs:

    Clean out guinea pigs
    De-clutter bedroom floor
    Continue ebay listings
    Make A-T's celery soup
Attack the ironing (if I have any energy left)

    Enjoy your day old-stylers!

    Hi all

We've had a busy day so far. We were up early (ok, 8.30am, but it IS a Sunday) so that we could go for a walk. We did 6 miles, across fields and along the bank of the river. I'm exhausted!

We've also got a problem with our heating. We've got a combi boiler, but it's just not heating our water which is a bit of a problem when we want a shower and we don't have the heating on all day. We've bypassed this so far by having the heating on when we've needed a shower (only happened since we came back from hol) or to wash up. OH will be phoning our letting agents tomorrow to get them to sort it out asap.

For the first person to PM me, I have a free booklet that I got with Good Food magazine which is "40 Great Recipes for Kids". I don't actually have it in front of me at the mo, but that's the gist of it.

    breakfast - branflakes
lunch - jacket pot with cottage cheese and baked beans
    supper - chicken stir fry

    See you later

I am using left over patches from when I last gave up :rotfl: (about 2 years ago!!!) I only have one left for tomorrow - then I go cold turkey

It's not too bad, I'm keeping myself busy - so at least my house is appreciating it :rotfl: I know it's only been 18 hours (who's counting ;) ) but Freya if you can it will save you loads of pennies - DH has agreed for this month only if I make it through the whole month then I can spend the whole 150 quid on me!!! That's a huge incentive.

Well, I'm just about to have a date with the iron and then I'm making flapjacks.

    Byee
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)
