Do not irritate a woman with a grudge, with time on her hands and with access to the internet.

    Very good. :D

I am quite flattered that you changed your sig just because I commented on it.

    Thank you. ;)

Well explain to me which companies you buy from that have a website & stores who have a flat pricing system?

Off the top of my head, and based on recent experiences and purchases:
At any of these - stores, outlets or online - I would expect, and indeed have, the same price online and in-store. That is why Sports Direct seems, to me, like an anomaly, not the other way around.

    Argos
    Curry's PC World
    Halfords
    Holland & Barrett
    B & Q
    Dunlem Mill Fabrics
    WH Smith
    Avon
    Yeoman's
    Go Outdoors
    London Camera Exchange
    Decathlon

(I haven't included larger fmcg companies; main reason being I am not certain and haven't used them for online or anywhere other than locally.)

Oh, don't be. It was long overdue.
I'm away to add a little more now.

So, I just tried an experiment (and am in the market for a new washing machine), which does not really prove much of a point either way.....

On-line price for the item I asked about - WILL be matched in the store - any of their stores....
But, if the store is selling the item for a lower price, I can get it at the lower price.
Which is all kinds of confusing - but means I get the item in store (I could have had it delivered f.o.c.) at the online price. Yay Curry's.

Nevertheless, this would not happen with Sports Direct.

And it wouldn't happen with Curry's if you didn't ASK for it!

Thing is Sports Direct are free to offer customers rights OVER AND ABOVE the ones they are legally obliged to. Or not. They choose NOT to. Just like they choose NOT to allow 'change of mind' exchanges and refunds, which other retailers DO offer.

I didn't ask for it; I asked if I would be able to go into the store and buy the same item at the same price. All suggestions re. online vs. the store/reservations and prices were volunteered by the (very nice, gold start to Curry's) CSA/

This is very very different from any company saying that it "operates it's stores as a separate business". I am an old-school pedant, which is why this grates.

Quoted below from the repsonse to my email to CS. Are you guys being so contrary/argumentative that you actually think this is acceptable?

"I would like to explain that Sports Direct online outlets and retail outlets operate separately and this may mean that prices and offers may vary and may only be available for limited periods.
All prices and offers are subject to availability and may be withdrawn or amended at our discretion. The prices on the Website may differ to prices in our retail stores, catalogues or elsewhere.
The price for the Nike Air Pegasus you have been looking at online does state 'From' £42.50."

And again, this reminds me that the Nike Pegasus (and a couple of others) were the ONLY brand/style in which the smaller sizes were around £15.00 less than the larger (starting at s. 6, if I recollect - which is hardly deformed).
They should at least mislead people with some consistency.

As an aside: Earlier in this thread, I believe that mention was made that there is no telephone number (I thought so myself) and issues can only be raised by email.
Scouting around the Corporate part of the site, this is the number listed for CS; 0845-1299-200.
But it is also the number for the switchboard (I assume at Shirebrook) and "Careers" so I wouldn't expect much.
