My main issue is not really what they are charging but that they maintain that stores and .com are separate entities - but the signage etcetera of the stores, packaging and uniform clearly state .com...... which I would take to mean that if shopping at a store (which I rarely do and then usually end up with a giftcard, I am), I am physically shopping at a company that also has an online presence; why would I expect the, say, Karrimor shoe that I pick up in the shop (assisted by a person wearing a Sports Direct.COM T-shirt) to be priced differently if I purchase it from the place they are apparently part of or connected to. They should remove the .com if they are not connected and donnot offer the same prices - unless they make this clear either in store or on the website.
Yes, I must have missed Marketing and Selling 101 but if even their tills cannot cope with a price change according to size, then that tells me a lot. Seems like taking the p*** out of customers and advantage of an online presence. There is NO continuity to the size/price policy (I have reviewed a lot - but God, the website is cumbersome), so it just seems that a trainee has stuck a pin in the catalogue (another separate [even though offered in store and sent with online purchases....] "business", I guess, yes?), deciding which prices and sizes to change or mark (misleadingly - again, I have kept track of some) as a Sale item, when it isn't (and there are laws about this..... or were; I must be very out of touch). I do not see this happen in any other store, so why do SD do it???
I recently watched (very little, I admit) a programme about selling/consumerism featuring (I think I may be misremembering) Jones Bootmaker as they planned for a sale to sell off out of season and
poor-selling ranges and styles. There was a long-drawn out meeting with several people, and no "oh, well we'll offer this at x price for x size, but add some on/reduce by less for those with more generously proportoned feet". Not someone on mimimum wage or less closing their eyes and randomly making a selection. If there is a genuine process, then it should be made clear - and it isn't, because muddy waters can fool everyone.
As you were.
Or, if you really feel like another condescending comment - or thanking someone who makes one - that's fine too.
Sometimes in life you just have to accept that things are not the way you would expect.0 -

Of course, just like the frog in the slowly boiling water - or broken window syndrome....
If anyone wants to make any effort at all (even minimal) to "get me to bite", then there is something wrong somewhere. (And I do not care. At all.)
Feel free to pass by on the other side.0 -
thats their choice
however it seems you have no issue with there being a difference in price?
The thing is that, the only other option being to go to the store and physically check their stock, there is no other choice but to call CS/the website, which is a centralised number, to find out about availability in the store(s).
That the prices may be different in his case is not the same as SD. It is not possible to call the "website" to check if an item is physically available in a store - you need to call the store (they do have separate numbers - and sometimes do not answer) and then you will be told if they have it and what the price is in the the store; it may or may not be different to the website.0 -
I had very bad experience with Sportsdirect online shopping. I swear never ever will shop there.
I had ordered 2 swimming suit for my daughter from Sports direct online and paid £5.99 next day delivery.
The swimming suit size was not perfect, so went to store for exchange but they did not have any in stock( the item was not on sale)
I asked customer services lady(she was really rude) that if the size is not available how can I exchange product. she replied you will get credit note(a piece of paper on which she wrote amount excluding delivery cost).
I told her that i had paid £5.99 for delivery , but I am returning the whole order, she rudely replied we never ever refund delivery charges and we never refund money we give only credit note.
i said I will send mail to management about this, she replied I am working here since 5 years, go and do whatever you want to do.
I sent the order by 1st class royal mail and sent mail to customer services.
I did not get any reply from customer service, I am still waiting for my refund even after 4 weeks.
Ridiculous company and staff. I will suggest everyone, if you are pretty sure that you don't want to return anything then only shop from Sportsdirect.0 -
I bought some trousers & shorts in store before going on holiday & specifically asked if I could have a refund if they didn't fit (it was close to,closing time & I didn't have time to try on) - I was told 'yes'. Returned to store today expecting a full refund & was told it was only a credit note refund. I was absolutely livid nod asked to speak to the manager - who said it was store policy & all staff were aware & that signs were around the shop. I reluctantly accepted a credit note & when asked to sign the receipt, I signed 'under protest' . Unsure wether to contact local & national newspaper to vent my concerns.0

Yes, do write to a national newspaper for a shop going above and beyond what they legally have to do - issue you a credit note - as you didnt try on in the shop so you accepted the goods and they were not faulty.
But, it all comes down to he said/she said and there is no way that the proof of what you claim happened(I dont not believe you) can ever be made.Dont rock the boat

I ordered some boxing boots offline for my husband just a cheap pair as he was only going to use them once as he's taking part in zero to hero. Anyway tried paying through PayPal and transaction could not be processed, so I then went and paid by just adding card details and it went through. I received 1 email confirmation. After going to bank later in the day two payments had gone out both to sports direct I had to call this number to find I couldn't stop one payment and I would need. To wait five days for two days later I have delivery of not one but two pairs of boxing boots! I take the invoice a pair of boots and drive to my nearest store to explain situation to spend fifteen minutes stood at counter listening to the on goings between the two girls weekend which I'm glad my two year old can not repeat just yet. I politely suggested that myself and other customers would prefer not to hear such and would one of them be able to deal with my problem and could I return one of the items and that I had the card I had purchased them off for it to be refunded back to my account as I know that it's part of my consumer rights or I would have to have a credit note but would be happy to wait 14days to be returned to my card. The reply was I would have to pay to return item on the invoice and wait to see if I would be refunded and they can't process it in store. So I asked to speak with a manager to be told they were not in store that day I think I was fobbed off at this point but as I was growing increasingly frustrated I left returned home and tried looking for a contact number to customer service every number I found could not be connected I emailed them re above was told reply within 1-5 working days we are now on day 13 and no that's not including recent bank holiday so I've givern them till tomorrow to contact me or I'm taking the matter further. I'm scared to return the item Incase it gets lost or I don't get my refund.0

if you read the terms you cant return to store, it states it needs to be returned to them, so there is no point trying to tell a member of staff your consumer rights when they are wrong
