however I would have to pay £4.99 extra! Now home delivery is £4.99 but why should it be the same for shop pickup, everyone else provides this service for free.
John Lewis "click and collect". £2 for orders under £30.
Tesco direct "click and collect". £2 for orders under £30.

And I wouldn't be surprised if more retailers start charging in the future.
  • Not quite the same thing, I wasn't asking for a click & collect service, I simply asked them to order me a pair in from the warehouse when I was actually in the store, no internet involved.

I have to agree they are poor, I went into a store (empty) and after I had spent 15 mins looking for some running shoes no one approached me to ask if i needed assistance so i walked out andwent to JJB. Unfortunately JJB didnt have the shoes in my size that i wanted (I would have paid the extra £9 not mse i suppose but..) so I had to go back to sportsdirect and ask to be served, which really grated especially as the member of staff tried to give me a load of bull as to how they should fit. I also won't use them again in a hurry.

Sorry but, I don't see the problem here. Personally, I hate nothing more than walking into a shop and being followed around and nagged by annoying staff members (ala PC World/Curries).

I'd much rather be left alone to look around and ask for help when needed.

Really don't see why you'd walk out of a busy sports shop just because nobody approached you.

Well it is. The bespoke order is placed for an individual item to be collected by the customer.
Unless you wanted a pallet of them?
