Has anyone heard of the above (did a search but nothing came up), I received a call today offering me the following -

Phone LGU890 @ £5.00 per month for 400 mins & 250 text, line rental is £17.50 for the first 3 months and then £35.00 for the following 9 months, cashback after 6 and 12 months (they are offering full cashback from line rental)

This is not an area which I know a lot about however I am looking for a new mobile as my current one is very old and is only PAYG and I am sure that I will get a better deal out there than what I am paying at the moment. Would welcome any feedback about the above company or any other companies which I should be looking at.

I have been with them a year and not recieved a penny off them so lost £360 so much for the cash back deal. I have writen a letter to them and had no reply, just rang them this morning and all they could say is that they are dealing with my claim and i will get the money back, i think it is just one big con, SO DONT USE THEM. INFACT I WOULD NOT TRUST ANY COMPANY THAT HAS A CASH BACK DEAL AGAIN.

Have you correctly claimed? I sent a claim off to them on the 20 Oct, and received the cheque 6 days later on the 26th Oct!!! Had 6 cheques from them so far bang on time.

According to this MSE post from January 2006, One Mobile Village is operated by the same people who ran The Mobile Republic. TMR went into administration in 2004 leaving many customers without their cashback.

One to avoid. Especially with a company logo that bad!

  • I've bought a phone off e2save for a 12month contract with Orange. So far so good. Have not had to prompt them for any of my cashback rebate claims. They have sent me the first two of three already always within 28days of my claim. The final one is not due till Jan 2007. MY ADVICE: Avoid company called phones2udirect https://www.phones2udirect.co.uk like a plague. See my posting on them. They are breaching their terms of contract and I'm about to take them to court following the advice from Consumer Advice Line which is part of the Office of Fair Trading/Trading Standards.

Just had to click through that one to see how bad it was!!

I am just about to get a contract phone and I am looking at going with E2save, CPW or mobileshop.

Did consider Onestopphoneshop until I read this site - a big no-no!!
  • I have used Onestopphoneshop and never had any issues with cashback. Had 2 contracts at the same time for a year and got all of my cashback.
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.
  • My wife received a phone call from ONE MOBILE VILLAGE offering her this unbelievable deal,LG phone 200 xnet minutes 200 texts 1 year contract on 3G network promotional deal.
£25 per month,£150 cashback after 6 months £150 after 12month everything works out free after 12 month, salesperson convinced her, she would be mad to refuse this offer so she signed up for it.Phone arrives 5 days later, different contract 18 month contract wife phones up cancelled contract and return phone the sameday.£50 was taken out my wife's bank account, company claim this was a disconnection charge she had to pay, phone was never connected tried phoning this company on their 0870 number, keep you waiting on phone there customer sales manager is DAVID ANDREWS very busy guy, don't think he exists, keep sending letters in urgeing me to take back handset or pay the line rental off for remainder of contract because they will not be able to disconnect the line.PLEASE BEWARE AND SAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY AND ITS UNDERHAND TACTICS TO STEAL YOUR MONEY.

I need to decide between e2save and onestophoneshop.

Onestophoneshop is currently offering a slightly better deal for the same phone compared to e2save, but i was wondering whether it was worth taking the risk and going to onestopphoneshop over the safer option of e2save, for a £30 saving throughout yr?

    thanks

I have 2 seperate cashback's running with this company. They have some cracking deals and I notice from this thread people are unaware of their track record....They have paid up the first 6 months on one of my phones but I am in dispute with them over the second. They claim that in their T&C's that I needed to supply the original invoice with any cashback claim. This is absolute rubbish and luckily I have kept a copy of the T&C's which states nothing of the kind.
They don't answer e-mails - have a permenant reply on all e-mails that says they are having technical problems replying to e-mails (For about the last 3 months) and they have re-curring excuses when you ring them up. The person who sends the refusal is faceless and never available and they play delay tactics on every request. I am still battling with this lot and even if I have to go to trading standards with their T&C's - I will. What I wont do is get any more cashback deals with them.... definitely one to avoid
A bargain is something you don't need at a price you can't resist.
