Oh dear god, I cant really find any words that will be of comfort, well I dont think anyone can.
I just want to you know that I think you are one brave lady, I couldnt even begin to try and imagine what you are going through.
I do sincerely hope that whatever happens you are able to come to terms with all this some day, or at least find some sort of peice of mind.
I think TBH making this decision shows just how much you love your son, the fact that you are making the decision to let his suffering end is something that some parents may not be able to do.
I really do hope that you dont feel eternally guilty for this as you really shouldnt do.
My thoughts are with you all xxxxxxxx

My thoughts are with you and your family. I hope you find strength and courage to face the times ahead.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
  • I'm so sorry, I don't really know what else to say. Reading what you're going through brought tears to my eyes.

You shouldn't feel guilty, not at all.

The only thing I can think to add is a quote from a film that reminds me of how I'd want to look at it, if I were in your situation.

Lawrence Woodruff: Now, tell me, have you ever seen a shooting star, Jack? I]Jack shakes his head[/I
Lawrence Woodruff: No?... Well, they're very rare. They're seen in the sky for only a very brief time. But when they appear, they are so bright, and so brilliant, that all the other normal stars just stand still, and watch that star as it passes among them.
Jack: I just... want to be a regular star.
Lawrence Woodruff: You will never be a regular star, Jack. You are spectacular.

I thinklooking at it that way would be the only way I'd cope. I wish you all the best for your last weekend with your star.

  • I'm so so sorry. I don't know what else to say, but felt I had to say something. You are such a strong woman to have made your decision.

    Take care

Your post has made me cry, I have never been in that position with a child which much be so difficult, but had to make a similar decison for a loved one last year or at least agree with the doctor that it was for the best to not offer any intrusive treatment, and I still get flashes of what if which could be described as guilt. When I am rational I know it was the only possible outcome and if the person involved had been asked it was what they wanted to happen but it's so hard.

Hope you have people around you to look after you, you have had a really tough time already and you need to be kind to your self. I will be thinking of you and hoping you get support to help you through.

  • Just wanted to say that I hope that whatever you do, it'll be for the best. It must be terrible for you, and whatever you do, I'm sure it'll be the right thing to do.
